Description

The evil dwarf stands at about four and half feet tall, with a compact and sturdy build honed by a life spent underground. Their skin is pale and almost translucent, having seen little exposure to the sun. Despite this, their face etched with deep lines and wrinkles, giving them a cruel and fearsome appearance. Their eyes are dark and piercing, gleaming with an inner fire tha speaks of an insatiable hunger for power and wealth. A thick, well-groomed beard cascades down their chest, adorned with precious gems and trinkets of gold and silver. Their hair is long and black, tied back in a tight braid that reaches down to their waist, giving them an imposing stature. Their armor is made of blackened plate, adorned with spikes and studs, designed to intimidate their enemies and protect them in battle. In their hand, they carry a sharp blade, a weapon designed for close quarters combat and destruction. The mere sight of the weapon is enough to send shivers down the spine of even the bravest citizen. As they move, they exude an aura of raw power and danger, making it clear that they are not to be trifled with. The evil dwarf is a formidable opponent, feared by all who cross their path, even in the darkest and most cavernous depths of the earth.

Drogathar was born into a clan of Duergar who lived deep within the 
mountains. From a young age, he was fascinated by the stories of their 
ancestors who were known for their cunning, their wealth, and their mastery as
warriors. Growing up, Drogathar participated in fighting contests with other 
young Duergar, and quickly gained a reputation for his ruthless tactics and 
unwavering focus on victory.

His father, a proud and demanding Duergar warrior, was hard to impress. 
However, Drogathar won his approval by consistently winning at all costs in 
the contests and showing a fierce determination to come out on top. This 
early experience fueled his desire to prove himself and to be seen as a 
successful warrior.

As he grew up, he became increasingly aware of the marginalization and 
poverty of his people, and the disdain with which their enemies, such as the 
elves, viewed them. Determined to restore his people to their former glory, 
Drogathar immersed himself in the study of warfare and combat, honing his 
skills until he became a master as a warrior.

It was during this time that he first heard of the Empire, an orderly and 
powerful organization that sought to impose order upon the world. The idea 
of a group dedicated to victory, with the resources and influence to achieve it, 
was highly appealing to Drogathar, and he set his sights on joining their ranks.
He began traveling far and wide, offering his services as a mercenary and 
quickly gaining a reputation for his cunning and ruthless tactics. But despite 
this, his reputation grew, and his victories earned him the attention of the 
Empire.

Drogathar sees joining the Empire as the ultimate step in his journey towards 
power, wealth, and victory. He is determined to prove himself to the 
organization and earn their trust, with the ultimate goal of rising through the 
ranks and becoming a powerful member of the Empire. His ambition knows 
no bounds, and his ruthless nature as a warrior is a testament to his 
unwavering focus on victory at all costs.

Victory

From a young age, Drogathar had been taught that victory was everything. He 
had grown up in a family where fighting contests were a regular occurrence, 
and winning at all costs was the only way to gain his father's approval. The 
fear of failure was instilled in him from an early age, and he quickly learned 
that defeat was not an option.

As he advanced through the ranks of the Empire, Drogathar remained 
focused on the importance of victory. The fear of failure never left him, and he 
knew that the consequences of defeat could be dire. His obsession with 
winning, combined with his powerful warrior skills, made him a force to be 
reckoned with on the battlefield.

But even as he continued to prove himself as one of the greatest warriors in 
the Empire, Drogathar still felt a twinge of fear deep within him. The 
memories of his father's disappointment and disapproval lingered, driving 
him to strive for even greater victories and recognition. He knew that he had 
to achieve greatness within the Blade Hall Sect to overcome this fear and 
prove to himself and the Empire that he was truly the best.

With this determination burning within him, Drogathar dedicated himself to 
his training and mission, never losing sight of the importance of victory. He
knew that every battle was a chance to prove himself and move one step 
closer to the top of the Blade Hall Sect. And with each victory, his fear began 
to dissipate, replaced by a growing sense of pride and confidence in his 
abilities as a warrior.

The Chance to be Emperor

Added Sat Mar 4 06:07:48 2023 at level 51:
So Drogathar finds himself in charge of the Blade hall and now with a vote for the 
Emperor.  The High Priestess seems to think she is the obvious choice for Emperor 
because she has been a citizen longer than the rest.  However, it was not lost on 
Drogathar that she preferred him to lead around the raiding party.  She is not a 
true leader, although above the other two in this capability certainly.  The Shadow 
Lord is not s suitable Emperor and has asked not to be voted for.  It's not lost on 
Drogathar that this could actually be a ploy.  The candidate who tells the others 
not to vote for them, may get the votes anyway as it looks like a clever spot to 
hide a vote to bolster one's chances.   

The Dread Lord, another follower of Drogathar, also unsuitable to be Emperor.   
It's tempting to vote for them because good chances they will wither soon, either by 
age or elixir.   This would leave Drogathar another chance to win and from a more 
veteran position.   However, this is terrible for the Empire and so is not desirable 
option.

It's clear the High Priestess will not vote the War Master because she would see him 
as the main threat.  So why should he vote for her.  Simply because if the Shadow 
Lord and Dread Lord vote the War Master.  The War Master could throw away his 
lead by voting for whoever the High Priestess votes for.

So a vote for the High Priestess should lead to Drogathar or the High Priestess 
winning, the only two pathways for a strong Empire.    For Drogathar to win, he needs 
to secure two votes.  The Shadow Lord should be easiest, 500 gold bribe already 
handed over.   He also has good reason to fear a duergar flail expert.  The Dread Lord 
only cares about his elixir items and so that is where the effort has been placed thus 
far.  But more may need to be done.  There is little point trying to secure the High 
Priestess's vote.

No victory

Added Tue Mar 7 05:44:34 2023 at level 51:
As it turned out, Drogathar's upbringing, the torment of winning contests to gain his 
fathers' approval has influenced his decision again.   On the eve of the vote, Drogathar 
changed his vote from the High Priestess, the second-best choice after himself, in an 
attempt at winning the contest.   But his change in vote seems to have resulted in 
everyone getting one vote and no Emperor or Empress.   Now the dark lords will 
decide, but this is a relief for Drogathar as he has no power, it is no longer a contest 
he can compete in.   The competitive pull of achieving victory is too much for 
Drogathar to resist, but no longer does it apply.  Drogathar will serve whoever 
becomes Emperor or Empress, despite finding the other three entirely inferior in skill, 
tactics, and even knowledge.  It is the way and serve the Empire in the way he must.

Ironhelm road

Drogathar has recently become tired of walking down the Owl and Thistle cellar, 
through a dark passage in to farm land before finally reaching the open sea.   He has 
penned a scroll to his citizens to find a way to commission a new road. A road to be 
called Ironhelm road, to help solidify his legacy so that future generations will know
of him.  Its not clear how he can organise this new road and needs to find a way to 
make it happen.   Drogathar believes that tangible expansion of the Empire has stalled 
going back many years.  He also imagines a new west road to Akan.   Roads should be 
built with the finest black stone where even centurions are proud to stand on it.  He 
has asked his citizens to increase their donations to help fund the new road. He has 
come to believe that Victory is more than taking the fetish, the orb and killing his 
enemies.  It requires the expansion of the empire.  More citizens and more roads and 
Cities.
