Role
Selective Breeding
Added Thu Oct 31 08:17:00 2013 at level 5:
All minotaur were special, but Drogtar was especially special. Drogtar's
early childhood was unhappy he supposed. It started by ripping his way out of
the abdomen of the half- drowish (with a little bit of orc mixed in) woman
who had served as his vessel and then quickly turned into a life of
captivity. Drogtar became aware early on that he was a captive and figured
out not very much longer after that that he was a subject of experimentation.
All of Drogtar's race were the product of dark ritual's aided by sorcery. The
minotaur who contributed their seed did so to continue their kind, for fun,
or other reasons. Those who sometimes aided the process had their interests
as well.
In the case of Drogtar, he was the product of research to try to mix a
minotaur with blood from other races to include demons. His mother, had been
selectively bred between a mix of human, drow, and orcs. The orcs selected
were chosen due to demonic tendencies they exhibited.
Drogtar was typically chained and caged and poked and prodded by a muttering
old man who never seemed satisfied with whatever it was he was looking at.
Various guards and assistants always seemed present. Drogtar's sole focus in
life became escaping that which bonded him. However in the end that was
unnecessary. One day, the old man did not appear and one of the guards
unchained Drogtar, and left leaving Drogtar alone in the ramshackle building
he has spent his entire life in.
Drogtar had never fended for himself, but quickly learned to. Savagery and
destruction seemed to come to him easily, so he was able to fend for himself
by killing and eating creatures in the swamp surrounding the makeshift
laboratory he had grown up in.
He understood rudiments of the common tounge and eventually was able to read
it somewhat. Drogtar was able to make out years of notes from the old man's
libraries and ascertain some of what he was trying to do in creating new
races. Cages full of dead creatures and old bones were a tribute to various
levels of success and failure he had encountered over the years.
Drogtar had some sense of his strength and uniqueness. He also was starting
to develop some sense of frustration that procreation for his race was so
problematic. He began to see some value in the old man's studies in loosening
the boundaries of genetic restrictions to allow the intermingling of more
races creating beings exhibiting strength greater than those combined to
create them. He also wanted to finds ways to bring out more of the additional
traits of the races had been intentionally introduced into him, especially
the demonic and orcish.
Drogtar set out from his birth place looking for ways to break down the
restrictions reality had placed on the creatures of Thera and the realm
itself.
The Priest of Chaos
Added Fri Nov 1 17:13:41 2013 at level 7:
As Drogtar made his initial incurssions into the world, he found a land that order tried to steer into a
fixed course of action. Many wished to bind the land to fit into their vision of what served them, or even
worse, establish laws designed to protect those who could not protect themselves.
Even those who professed to embrace chaos, seemed to have a different understanding of what it was
than Drogtar did. Drogtar did not want to return to some idealized past that he was not a part of. He
wanted to break down the bounderies of the possible and impossible to create a realm where nothing
was predictable.
In addition to wanting to merge his blood with others to see what terrible (or wonderful) beings he
could create, Drogtar wanted to show and teach the realm what true chaos was. Drogtar would seek to
become a voice of chaos drawing others to embrace his vision of what the realm was to become.
Continued Growth
Added Sat Nov 23 03:57:37 2013 at level 43:
Drogtar secured the initial blessings of the Lord of Chaos and continued his
growth in power and knowledge through the realm. He found the knowledge he
was seeking on the blending of races to be lacking amongst the sources he was
checking, so sought out the Scions of the Eternal Night who were rumored to
possess knowledge not found anywhere else. He was also interested in possibly
mixing creatures from the realm they were purported to touch into his mixing.
Drogtar was disappointed by the lack of information he found initially in
their libraries once gaining access to them, so realized whatever was needed
would have to come from him. Still unable to gather the resources he felt he
needed, he began to focus more on goring in power to reach the point he could
grab what he needed.
Drogtar is pleased with the recognition he has received from his lord. He
recognizes he is far from being a example of all the teachings of Lyristeon,
but feels he is getting some of it right.
Scion Research (A copy of research submitted to date and future course of action)
Added Sat Dec 7 03:49:09 2013 at level 51:
The area of research I have delved into is that of breeding combinations. My
goal is to finds ways to ease restrictions on mating between species to
create a more random, less defined realm with no clear races or divisions
created by birth where are all a combined mass clawing and scratching to
survive and dominate.
I was the product of selective breeding which causes my interest in the topic
and what might be possible. Most minotaur are bread using a human woman. My
vessel was of half drowish descent with some orcish blood mixed in with the
orcs selected for their exhibitions of demonic tendencies. However, outside
of demonic manifestations granted to me by abyssal powers, I have not sensed
a difference in myself and other minotaur to this point, though it could be
latent, and I keep drinking elf. blood just in case.
I was released from my cage after the architect of this died, so never
perused his mind on this. After some years and gaining knowledge to read the
common tongue however, I returned to the place of my creation and captivity
and was able to review some of the notes left behind. Most of what he
encountered in his lifetime of crossbreeding was failure, but my interest was
gained.
I have found little written on the topic of crossbreeding, but have found
various examples across the lands. Confirmed crossbreeds I have found and
confirmed so far are:
Humans + Elf
Humans + Drow
Orcs with what I suspect were half drow or half elves creating mixed breed
orcs.
Orcs displaying demonic tendencies.
Other races mixed with demons including possibly one in the chasm (besides
me).
Successful crossbreeds I have heard of but not seen for myself:
The various Felar hybrids in Veran. I will be looking for what created them
and records left of this time once strong enough to survive there.
The Talshidars are rumored to be arial demon mixes. I will collect
specimens for study once able to do so.
I have heard rumors of experiments to mix orcs with Ccul Gra in the chasm,
but find nothing solid on these rumors.
As far as mixing with otherworldly being go, it seems demons are the only
ones I can find rumors of mating with creatures of this realm. I have found
no mortals with devil, angel, or archon blood, though some stories of part
elemenal creatures exist, but I have not been able to find one.
Combinations I suspect are possible but have not found yet.
Dwarves and Duergar, Elves and Drow, and Gnomes and Deep Gnomes should be
able to interbreed freely, though their offspring would likely appear as one
or the other. Also, due to conflict between these races, it would be likely
such offspring would be hidden or destroyed.
At this point I continue to study what is available for observation and
research. My next phase will include more dissections of interesting
creatures and the gathering of captives for expermentation.
Breaking
Added Tue Dec 10 03:43:34 2013 at level 51:
Drogtar once spoke of breaking the realm. However, up to this point the only
thing he is breaking is himself. Since his initial research into creating
new breeds, Drogtar has found himself consumed by the battles that rage
against him and has made no further progress. Drogtar believes he needs the
power of the Scepter and the knowledge of the Ccul'gra to accomplish the
twisted goals he has set himself too and finds himself in constant battle
trying to keep the scepter in place and the portals open. However Drogtar
realizes he must start finding less defeats or he will soon perish from the
realm. He also fears the battle lust he feels has made him predictable,
which he must overcome as well.
However, his defeats have lead him to the highlight of his life as well. He
has left many of the barbarians with gaping maws not knowing what to make of
the relentless beast who continues to throw himself at their village despite
walking into his doom. While this is more of a product of uncontrollable
battlelust than any plan, Drogtar thinks that makes it all the more fitting.
In one other triumph, Drogtar has found he can call the rotting of legend.
However, he learned this when he accidentally rotted himself, immediately
losing the proficiency he has long focus on gaining with the deadly
supplication. Sloppy Sloppy Sloppy.
