Description
You find yourself looking at a short squat of a dwarf man. Huge bushy
black eyebrows sit attop two emerald green eyes that lead to a large
round nose. As with most dwarves, Durmick has a grand beard, dark
black, silky smooth, that falls almost all the way down to his big,
round stomach. His hair is kept somewhat short, black as his beard
and a small balding spot has started on the toop of his head. His
hands are rough and worn, evidence of long years and hours of hard
work and toiling. He appears to be a mix of muscles and fat, clear that
he works hard but enjoys his food and ale.

Chapter 1 - Living the Smithing Life
Added Mon Mar 18 10:22:28 2024 at level 51:
Durmicke was your typical dwarf. He was married to his dwarf
sweetheart, Bella, and they had one child, his son, Durmichen.
Durmicke was an apprentice smith, learning to forge and temper
weapons and armor. He enjoyed the meals his wife cooked and sung
dwarven songs to his son.
They lived in a small dwarf village outside of Akan. It was a peaceful
place. But with most stories about Heroes, tragedy always seems to
come. It would be no different for Durmicke.
One day a mysterious illness broke out in the village. Almost
everyone came down with the sickness. Durmicke however did not.
He had always been vigorous, able to fight off diseases and quickly
heal from scrapes and injuries faster then most dwarfs. The village at
the time did not have a healer, as their last one had just moved to Akan.
Durmicke agreed with the Elder of the village to set out to get help.
Packing his bags, Durmicke hastened himself to Akan. The trip took a
few days and a little longer on the way back with help in toe. But it
was too late. This plague grew out of control, and all in the village
were dead, leaving Durmicke as the solo survivor.
During the days to lay the dead to rest, Durmicke swore he would find
a way to learn how to heal and cure sickness.
Chapter 2 - No Divine Spark
Added Mon Mar 18 10:25:29 2024 at level 51:
Galadon, a big change from the dwarf village Durmicke had lived.
Busy, full of all different sorts of folk, and less clean. Merchants could
be found throughout the city, and guilds of all sorts were opened to
having folks join and train at the Academy.
Eyeing his small pouch of coins, Durmicke enrolled in the Academy.
He signed up to become a healer, doing his best to learn the
interworkens of divine power for mending wounds. While the
concept of supplications did not escape Durmicke, the power to bring
it forth eluded him.
Time after time, try after try, he was just unable to call forth divine
power. The Master in charge of teaching the path of Healers called
upon collegues to study why Durmicke could not call forth healing
magic. The group of healers studied the dwarf and finally concluded
that he had no divine spark. He would never be a healer, a paladin, or
a shaman.
Durmicke was turned away from the Healers guild. The Warrior's guild
however invited him to join. His impressive muscles and accuracy
with a hammer wowed them, his years as a smith's apprentice lending
it self well to combat. He would become a warrior.
Chapter 3 - Profile, Goals, Quick Synopsis
Added Mon Mar 18 10:30:08 2024 at level 51:
Durmicke lost his family and village to a plague/sickness. This drove
him to seek to find ways to heal sickness to save others. He joined the
Academy to become a healer, but learned he had no divine spark. He
instead joined the Warrior's guild.
Now he sets out to find a way that he can help others. He learned of
the Fortress and became a Scribe. He hopes that like forging a
weapon, he can also forge men and women to become better than
they are.
Durmicke praises Lord Thror (yes he is inactive) callling for the
Hammersong whenever he tries to forge weapons.
He hopes to become an Acolyte one day and take others wounds
upon himself as he himself is a very fast healer. It will be his way to
heal since he could not become a healer.
He carries himself as a father figure, looking out for his new family.
Enjoys good food and drink. Loves good dwarf songs and the smell of
the forge.
