Description

You gaze upon a dark-elf with tangled silver hair pulled into a loose braid down his back. He is fine boned with almost feminine full lips and a sharp nose. He stares at you with two large doe eyes. The right eye is light blue while the left eye is coal black with a jagged scar that runs from his left eyebrow down to his cheek. While tall for his race, his build is wiry and his skin is a dark pewter color.

Role

Chapter 1: The high elven mages raid Teth Azeleth

It was a normal cool, calm night in Teth Azeleth.  Durnot was finishing up his training in the 
warrior academy.  He was 20 years old and just starting to notice girls for the first time.  
While he would flirt with this one silver hair beauty, he did not know her very well.  While 
Durnot was a free spirit, he was not stupid enough to cross the trainer so he kept his
distractions to a minimum.  His parents had just showed up at the academy to take him 
home when fireballs, lions, and transmutations filled the academy.  The warrior trainer
yelled raid and everyone tried to take off running.  Durnots parents, both former warrior
students, stood their ground to fight.  Durnots parents were no match for the elves and 
were killed quickly with ferocious magics.  Durnot was only one of two students that 
managed to survive with the silver haired beauty being the other one.  The elves kidnapped 
these two students and wisked them away to a small river home near the Redhorn 
Mountains.  The elves taunted the two young drow students the whole trip.  The elves 
were drinking wine and laughing at the death and destruction they had just caused.  While 
Durnot had never met high elves, he found these elves to be of a darkness Durnot had seen 
before among his own drow people.  But these were high elves and not drow.  Durnot 
heard high elves always held the moral high ground, but these elves were different.  These 
elves had long been corrupted by magic.  The magic these three used had turned these 
high elves to darkness.  While most of the world would see the elves as lost souls that 
turned to darkness, Durnot became more and more convinced it was the magic.  Durnot 
would soon learn of this magic over the next 30 years while in captivity.

Chapter 2: Captivity

Durnot and his silver haired beauty, Lyyanna, spent thirty years in captivity together.  
Even though they were still quite young, Durnot fell in love with Lyyanna during 
those years in captivity.  Our at least as much in love as a drow could be.  Durnot 
felt this love the most when the elven mage was hurting and experimenting on 
Lyyanna.  The elven mage would alter the bone structure of both Durnot and Lyyanna.
They would zap them with wands that would leave them blind or poison for hours
on end.  The things the elven mages did to these two might be done in times of
war, but not on young people.  The elven mages did not treat Durnot and Lyyanna as
people that much was clear.  They were objects to be used for slavery and to test magic 
on nothing more.  The horrors that these two endured would not be condone by anyone 
except for the most soulless of individuals.

Escape

Added Mon Mar 12 16:53:18 2018 at level 32:
One day 30 years into captivity, the three elven magi screwed up and left Lyyanna and
Durnot alone with only the elven invoker.  Durnot had been the cook for the elven 
Mages for the last 10 years and had gotten quite good with knives.  Lyyanna had gotten 
quite good at mixing ingredients for some basic poisons.  The two developed a plan that 
they enacted when left alone with just the elven invoker.  While Durnot was cooking 
dinner, he kept a spare knife nearby that had a small amount of poison on it.  Not enough 
to kill, but just enough to temporarily spun.  While Durnot and Lyyanna were not aloud 
outside the house, they did maintain some freedom within the house and were not kept 
in chains.  So Durnot was cooking and started screaming and acting crazy.  The elven magi 
would not tolerate this of course and yelled at Durnot to shut the hell up.  When Durnot 
not, the elven invoker got up and approached him with the intent to shut him up 
with force.  When the invoker approach, Durnot grabbed the poisoned knife and hit the 
invoker in the throat.  The invoker was stunned momentarily stunned by the poison and 
the blow.  Enough to allow Durnot and Lyyanna to reach the door and escape outside.  
They were running away for what seemed like a long, long time and the elven mage was 
just about to give up when he tried one last fireball with the intent to kill Durnot and 
Lyyanna rather than let them escape.  The fireball was devastating and engulfed Lyyanna 
immediately.  Durnot was caught in the eye by the flames, forever scared.  As he looked 
at his silver haired beauty engulfed in flames, he had two choices.  One was
to try to save her and the other was to escape himself.  Naturally being a drow, Durnot 
choose to save himself and live to see another day.  A decision that will haunt him forever.  
He vowed to never leave an ally again.  Escape though he did and soon found himself 
making his way through the Redhorn Mountains to the north road between Udgaard and 
Tir Talith.  As he was walking south along the road, he came across a human with two  
large axes heading the other way.

Chapter 4: The Might Battleragers and Victory

The human approached Durnot and asked him if he had seen a dark-knight magus pass 
this way. Durnot indicated he had not and started to walk away, when the human asked 
about the weeping scar near Durnots eye.  Durnot recounted his story to the human.  The 
human looked at the wiry Durnot and told him how he could get revenge. The human told 
Durnot the tale of the Mighty Battleragers and their betrayal at the hands of the mages of 
order.  Durnot stared mesmerized at the tale that had been told.  Durnot knew at that 
moment he would one day have a hut within the Village of the Battleragers.  The human 
told Durnot to travel south and visit the Lyceum to the south and read all about the 
Battleragers.  The human said then Durnot should travel south some more and since he 
had some basic training from his time in Teth Azeleth, Durnot should train at the warriors 
guild in Galadon.  Durnot did just that and was captivated by the tales of victory.  
Captivated by the heroes of the land doing what needed to be done against the magic that 
corrupts all.  He was amazed to find out there were others like him.  Durnot knew how
one day to get his revenge.  He would get his revenge on all mage.  Durnot would spend 
the rest of his life plotting and executing his victory over the mage.  These victories would
be both internal and external.  It would also be the long-term victories in wars that would 
come in the future.  Durnots victory would be personal as well.  He would overcome his 
flaws (scar on eye that festers and leaks), captivity, land loss of loved ones) and learn to 
appreciate the flaws in others.  With that being said, appreciation of others flaws did not 
mean he would not kill or steal from them.  Durnot has learned that his imperfections are 
the core of what he is.  He knows that being true to himself is the one way to achieve 
victory and accomplish his goals.

Chapter 5: First Magi Kill

Durnot learned through his reading and travels that in order to get a hut within 
The village, he needed to kill a magi and then speak to Tahren in the ruins off
eastern road.  Durnot traveled all over the lands in search of magi, but learned
quickly that find a magi he could see was quite difficult.  One day Durnot
was in the forest of nowhere in the past when he found two magi and a ranger 
killing taglos and gnolls.  Durnot approached the magi and tried to bash one of the
shapeshifters to death.  Durnot almost had the first one but he escaped at the last
instant convulsing and clinging to life.  Durnot then started bashing the second 
shapeshifter but he also escaped as Durnot fumbled with his technique in bashing.  

Frustrated at the events, Durnot continued to hunt for the next several years.  That first
kill continued to elude him.  Durnot even fought a separate ranger and two 
shapeshifters in that same forest of nowhere.  This time it was Durnot that would taste 
defeat and be killed himself.  Unsure of what would happen next, he was surprised
to find that he would be resurrected in his hometown and could continue for a time.  
He learned though that this would not last forever for each time he died a small piece 
of him left forever.  One day the death would be final.

Finally, when Durnot had learned over twenty times within his guild, he would kill his 
first magi within the Azreth Forest.  This magi was another shapeshifter that was 
resting from his latest kill.  Durnot saw him sleeping and did not even hesitate.  He 
did what he needed to do and killed the magi dead.  Some would be saddened by their 
first kill but not Durnot.  He was elated.  The rush of getting revenge on a magi was 
amazing and thrilling.  Killing another was a rush that changed Durnots life forever.  
Killing another on the field of battle was victory.  Killing a magi anywhere anyhow was 
the ultimate victory.

Chapter 6: Bloody hell, the Commander is a freaking elf

Added Wed Mar 21 16:25:46 2018 at level 41:
Before Durnot had gotten his first magi kill, he had spoke with Zah, the 
Drillmaster of Battle.  While Zah is a tough, scary guy he helped Durnot early
on with a dagger and two pieces of armor.  Zah helping Durnot was an eye 
opener for Durnot as few had helped him in life.  This opened Durnots eye
to the possibility that if he helped his brothers and sisters in the village then
the victories could be greater and the revenge could be sweeter.

After Durnot got his first magi kill, he sent a note to the village through a 
messenger of his desires to earn a hut.  About six months after the note was
sent, Galgeron the Commander of Battle asked him to come to the village 
to speak.  When Durnot arrived, he was shocked to find an elf before him.  
Durnot was very nervous as he saw his plans of a hut going up in smoke.  
There was no way that bloody elf would give a drow a hut.  Durnot and the
Commander spoke at length.  Durnot told his story and the Commander listened
carefully.  Strange an elf listening and asking questions of a drow.  Several
time there were interrupted by enemies of the village attacked Galgeron.  Durnot
was impressed with the way this elf fought.  Durnot had not witness an
elf warrior fight like this.  All of Durnots experience was with elf magi.  Durnot
realized he could make use of at least this elf.  After the commander
ran off the villages enemies, Galgeron ask the key question.  Was Durnot fighting
for the betterment of everyone or for revenge.  Durnot though long and hard and 
decided to answer honestly.  He told the commander he seeks revenge and he
would like to be a defender to aid all the village enact more revenge on magi.
If the village succeeded, then Durnot would prosper and achieve a greater victory.  
More magi would die and Durnot would have more of what he lusted for.  More gold.
More women.  More death.  More filling of the hole in his soul that can only be
filled with more victory.  Galgeron thought for a moment and then induction Durnot
into the village.  Durnot had his hut.  Durnot enjoyed this life victory.  A great day 
for Durnot indeed. The Commander said he appreciated the honesty. The Commander
warned that many tough days lay ahead.  Boy was he right.
