Description

A tall and lithe high-elven man stands here before you. He carries himself with pride, and a deadly look in his emerald eyes. Long golden hair is braided intricately around the crown of his long head, and pulled into a tight braid which falls about midway down his back. Highly arched eyebrows accentuate his high-elven cheekbones and features. A large scar is painfully obvious across his right cheek, and looks to never have healed completely. He wears finely polished armors, wrought with white steel and emblazoned with delicate looking patterns of leaf and vine. A highly polished long shield is strapped upon his left arm, mirror-like finish showing no dents or scratches. He carries a longsword in his right hand, emblazoned with a phoenix shaped hilt. A large mace dangles from his belt with an enourmous head. He carries himself well, and looks quite nimble even in his armors. A look of retributive determination can be detected in the betrayed emotions of his body language.

Role

Role Chapter One - The Beginning.

Added Mon Aug 22 13:00:54 2016 at level 14:
Ebrithyl Eventide born of parents from a lowly house in Darsylon, spent his
childhood in Darsylon helping his parents work the market, selling the quality
basket weavings his mother made, and the leatherwork of his father. They
lived on the outskirts of the treetop city, in a meager house that their wages
afforded them. Ebrithyl was a smart child, and always keen to lend a hand to
his parents work. He played with other elven children in the market, and helped
his family when he could.

One terrible night, a horde of orcs from the blackwater swamp surrounded the homes
of the poorest of elven families living around the outskirts of Darsylon. The orcs
had surprised the night watchmen, and prevented the raising of any alarms about the
assault. Ebrithyl's family home was one of the first to be set ablaze by the orcs.
Smelling the smoke, Ebrithyl's father woke from his slumber and cried out - waking
the sleeping family. Grasping for his short sword in the flame lit half-dark abode
an enormous Orc burst into the home, axe in hand. Ebrithyl's father grasped his
sword just as the orc fell upon him, axe thirsting for blood and his fathers scream
echoing in the night. Ebrithyl watched in horror as blood erupted from his fathers
wounds and spattered the now ablaze home with stains of crimson. Ebrithyl's mother
thrust herself in front of young Ebrithyl, at this age not quite old enough to be
considered a man. She said in a most serious voice "You have to escape now, son.
You have to survive this, and avenge your father and I, flee and live to bring
justice to the perpetrators of this terrible night. You are strong and courageous
and you should seek a guild to train you in the arts of fighting. Do not lose your
innocence, and your kind heart son, but bring vengeance to the wicked who have
destroyed our lives. Run now!" Ebrithyl, with tears in his eyes, ran through the
now roaring flames, his mothers fingertips slipping out of his grasp as she turned
to pummel the orc with her fists. The orcs cruel iron axe swung widely and caught
the side of Ebrithyls cheek in it's arc, before beheading the woman he had called
mother for all of his life. His cheek burned at the bite of the iron axe, and blood
streamed down the side of his face as he bolted through the flames. He ran with
the reknowned agility of his kin, and evades several menacing orcs on his way out
of the now burning outlying village. Into the relatively safety of the vale he
hid himself through the rest of the night, not sleeping a bit and mourning his
now slaughtered family. Vengeance and retribution gleamed in his now hardened
eyes.

Role Chapter One - The Beginning - Part 2

Added Mon Aug 22 13:01:53 2016 at level 14:
Many months went by, and Ebrithyl's heart had hardened. He was led to a priest
of a new lord in the heavens, Ignolmeer. Who preached of Justice and Judgement,
Ebrithyl remembered the words of his mother, instructing him to take to the
trainings of a guild, and bring justice to the wicked ones responsible for forever
changing his life, and murdering his friends and family. This priest began to
preach about the tenants of his Lord's faith, and Ebrithyl became quite taken
with the teachings. The priest after hearing Ebrithyl's story, had advised him
that perhaps the Paladin's guild in Voralian city, could teach him what he
needed to learn, in order to be a righteous man and still bring justice to the
wicked men and women of Thera. So he sought out the guild and began to study
the Paladin's code. Now, in order to continue with his training, he must seek
out Lord Ignolmeer's shrine, and pray for his power to guide his shield and blade.

Chapter Two - Friendship and the Horn of Fate

Added Thu Sep 15 11:35:29 2016 at level 51:
With the innocence of youth fading, Ebrithyl spent much time studying the
precepts written on the scrolls in Lord Ignolmeer's library. The last time
he spoke with his lord, they discussed ways in which Ebrithyl could continue
his own growth as a man. Having many fruitful relationships within the
Fortress, Ebrithyl's own desires were to cultivate good relationships with
other people, outside the Fortress walls. An opprotunity such as this arose
with a young cloud giant named Mokee, a tale-teller of the Inn. The fifth
guardian of relics pertaining to the Horn of Fate arose near the Crystal Isle
in the western ocean, and Ebrithyl made haste with the Marshall, Sirelas to
battle the great Colossus of Stone. Other hero's of the land were also
present, Mokee and Aric among them. Together, the four battled the Colossus,
a being of terrible power. The Marshall fell during the fight, but not
before savaging the guardian with his fists. After a long battle, the three
heros were triumphant, and the Colossus of Stone fell. He carried with him
two relics, of undiscernable power - A ring, and a tiny meteorite which Mokee
took to care for. After the battle, Ebrithyl and Sirelas met with Mokee in
the Inn to examine the artifacts. Mokee was granted the full protection of
the Holy Brigade and the relics were entrusted to his care. While conversing
in the Inn, Mokee and Ebrithyl became fast friends and the three of them were
confronted by a wicked lich, who offered Mokee much power in exchange for the
relics. He claimed to be a middle-man for the exchange of the powerful relics.
Sensing trickery, and knowing that if the relics fell into the hands of the
wicked it could only be bad for the people of Thera, Sirelas and Ebrithyl took
to battle with the great lich in the Inn of the Eternal Star, forcing him to
retreat back to wherever he had come from. Soon after, a dark-elf transmuter
named Sifsahlin showed up at the Inn, and Mokee claimed him as a friend of
youth. Ebrithyl and Sirelas knew the drow was a cultist of the temple and
encouraged Mokee not to trust the fellow, before they struck him and forced
him to retreat. Not long after, the transmuter asked Mokee to accompany him
to obtain one of the magical wands he used for protection, and unwittingly
Mokee trusted the drow. As expected, the drow betrayed the giants trust and
murdered him while he fought to obtain the wand for him - taking the powerful
relics for himself. Learning of what had transpired both Ebrithyl and Sirelas
were deeply troubled. Mokee may have taken his own life in response to the
betrayal, ending the beginning of a friendship that Ebrithyl had hoped to
cultivate, and providing a sense of failure at his being unable to protect the
giant as he had swore to do.

Chapter Two - Friendship and the Horn of Fate cont.

Added Thu Sep 15 11:40:12 2016 at level 51:
Ebrithyl steeled his resolve, and realized in in that fated act, that now more
than ever Thera needed a champion to battle the wicked, and give Justice to the
innocent and trusting, such as Mokee, and bring forth retribution unto the wicked
for their betrayals and treacharous deeds. There is no time for a lapse in
vigilance against the Darkness and new friendships were near impossible to cultivate
when they could be used against you to hurt those of the Light. His mind set to
War, as defeating the darkness once and for all, was the only way he would be
afforded the peace and time to pursue the things he sought for himself. He began
trying to peice together clues about the Horn of Fate's wereabouts, knowing that
if it were indeed to resurface, should it fall into the hands of the cultists, or the
wicked, it could spell disaster for all the innocent in Thera. Even without
the relics of the last guardian, and uncertain who the relics from the other
guardians were bequethed too - Ebrithyl vowed to continue to search, and to
overcome the advantage that the wicked seemed to hold in the search.

Chapter Three - Insight in Surprising Places

Added Mon Oct 3 12:50:07 2016 at level 51:
After a furious battle with Muuksube Coldcrown the wicked emperor of Thera.
Ebrithyl agrees to meet with him and speak in the shrine of Deormdel.
Hoping that by utilizing the precepts taught by Lord Ignolmeer - he might
divine some insight into how the wicked become so, and choose such a life.
He listened quietly to the Emperor's tale, of losing his sight, living a
pauper and the pleasures saught for his 'groinbeard'. And in some ways,
Ebrithyl felt sorry for him. He was saddened more by the fact that after
such a fate as the Emperor was dealt, he chose to remain wicked in his
actions - rather than to embrace the Light and fight against the likes of
people who had done such terrible things to him. The conversation did bring
some understanding to Ebrithyl of the Emperor's true nature. And there was
never a doubt that the two would continue to cross swords over the
differences in their beliefs.

It was not expected, however, that the conversation would call into question
Ebrithyl's own nature and purpose. The Emperor posed a challenging question
to Ebrithyl: What is YOUR truth? He asked. The Emperor had admitted that
he was a disgusting, greedy, evil bastard who likes having his groinbeard
tugged. None of that was surprising to Ebrithyl. But when posed with the
question himself, he found looking inside his own heart troubling. He
realized that although long grown a Man, inside his heart was still the child
who fled Darsylon the night Orcs murdered his parents. His ideals and goals
in life were forged in that night, and the memory of it was what fueled the
fire in his soul to battle the wicked. He was trying to change the future,
by holding on to the memories of the past. This troubled him greatly, as
ultimately the realization was that in all but appearance - he was still
living as the child he once was.

A strong urge struck him, after he left the shrine and the words 'It is time
to grow up.' resounded in his mind.
