Description
A tiny little wonder stands before you cutting a truly curious visage. Hard
as a tiny little rock, this is the fittest gnome you have ever seen. Her
auburn hair is cut neatly to a crop with a pony tail that extends down to the
base of her neck. She wears very form fitting clothes and not the traditional
robes most mages seem to favor, further adding to her muscular form. If there
was ever a gnomish bodybuilder, this one would be it. There is a remarkable
absence of weapons on this one, save for short whip that she wears at her
side.

The Windgust family line is perhaps one of the most storied family lines in
all of Thera. This diverse family is no stranger to any race or ethos, all
are welcome into its fold as long as they are adept at magic. The windgusts
saw no distinctions of racial bias, of ethical bias or even of plannar bias,
as long as it benefited the proliferation of magic a Windgust would be
willing to mate with it. Obviously as a result of such mentality the
Windgust family became an eclectic mix of all races, gnomes, elves, humans,
dark-elves, even a few giants, demons and such mixed into the bloodline.
Eeeka Windgust is a strange mix of generations of inter-marriage, while both
of her parents were distinctly gnomish in their primary heritage who knows
what else lurks in her blood.
Windgust family is well to do and has a plethora of connections to this day
among many guilds and professions. Those that carry the Windgust name are
often considered exemplary students of magic even at onset of their studies,
just from the fact that they were born a Windgust. Each Windgusts sole
responsibility is to further the cause of magic in thera, and to excel at its
application. Each Windgusts worth is measured by the creed we live to
serve magic. This is perhaps where Eeka deviates from her clan at birth, not
only was she born with negligible ability for magic, she also displayed a
strange physical fortitude that was decidedly un-gnomish and very unlike the
soft and studious Windgusts that came before her. Much to the dismay of her
parents, Eeka never got any better at magic as she progressed in age. By her
20th birthday, while still barely a child by gnomish standards, her parents
had all but given up hope that Eeka would ever amount to anything worthy of
the Windgust family name. The clan that built the Masters of Five Magics,
finally had found its absolute worst in Eeka.
Magicless

Eekas existence was mostly a combination of indifference and disregard.
Once it became evident that she would not be furthering the Windgust legacy,
her standing in the family was one of a tiresome obligation. The child had to
be fed, clothed, and given shelter and that was certainly what she got, but
no more. Her parents and her siblings often spoke to her to her out of
obligations, they were kinder and warmer to the hired help. Regardless, Eeka
still grew up relatively comfortable, she was a Windgust after all. She
would spend countless hours watching her siblings and other scholars practice
at wielding magic. Their obsession seemed to come at the cost of everything
else. Meanwhile, Eeka had chores. And chores she did, from sun up to sun
down she would toil endlessly, at first as a punishment for being a
disappointment but later on because she took to her chores so well. Whether
it was the need to please others or the desire to feel useful, Eeka executed
her chores with the diligence of a military commandant. Every little thing
that had to be done was done to perfection. While Eeka may have failed at
having magic pulsing through her veins, Eeka did not lack in effort or the
ability to apply it.
She had a hard life by Windgust standards and she

enjoyed the hardness, she reveled in it. Overtime she started seeing the
chinks in the armored legacy that was the Windgust name. For one with every
year their influence had become less and less, as she studied the legends and
the books of yore, she was the line diminishing over the ages. Even with
addition of new adopted Windgusts, their numbers continued to dwindle as did
their influence. During its peak a Windgust sat in every high tower, mage
guild, mage conclave, either at the head of the table or in a position of
strong influence. Now most of them toiled in the home compound along the
Voralian river, going on excursions for the sake of magic or hired tasks.
She also noticed that the pursuit of magic came at the expense of everything
else. They were physically pitiful, even a young child she was stronger than
most of her brothers and sisters, even the ones that didnt share gnomish
heritage. The chores had made her strong, while the study of magic had
enfeebled those around her.
Crutch

She started seeing magic for the crutch that it was, an enfeebling tool that
obsession of which had ruined her once great family. Over time she started
to enjoy this advantage she had over others in her life. By her 20th name day
she spent half her day training, pushing her tiny gnomish body to its limits.
knew she wanted to be hard, harder than any Windgust that ever came
before her. By her 30th year, she was a chiseled little gnomish menace
during play she would challenge her siblings who had long ago stopped trying
to push her around. Her contempt for her magic imbued brothers and sisters
had turned her into a little bit of a bully, she would laugh at their
weakness. It wasnt long before her family began to really sour on Eeka.
First time Eeka suspected something might have been amiss with her relatives
was when they attempted to stuff her in a milk barrel and shove her in the
river. Over the years they had taken to a rough and tumble sort of play,
where Eeka would taunt them physically and her siblings would hurl magic at
her in response. By the time Eeka matured the fun and games had come to a
pause and there was some serious murderous rivalry between Eeka and her
siblings. All of this came to head one day
Fratricide

Im going to kill you Eeka! Was a phrase that just about everyone in the
Windgust family had heard being thrown around by any one of her brothers and
sisters. It wasnt until one of them actually tried to carry it out that
Eeka began to wonder about life under the clan.She had grown accustomed to
dodging magic missiles and nursing chilling touch wounds, even had a severe
burn from a wall of fire that scared her arm for good. But it was when her
elder brother of half-drow descent beguiled her to sleep with the word and
then used a wand of powerful magic on her that she decided they were playing
for keeps. Being woken from a forced slumber by an explosive fireball sent
Eeka into a rage and in that rage she became the first Windgust ever to have
committed fratricide. Cause and response did not matter at that point, for a
Windgust was dead and Eeka was the culprit. If Eeka had been able to channel
she might have been met with a different response, but as it stood the only
Windgust that couldnt touch the source had killed one that could. Her
time as a Windgust had come to an end, her mother told her that herself. The
next morn her father would turn her over to the town magistrates for summary
execution if she did not escape into the night. Which she did, while swearing
to rid the Windgust name of its dependency to magic.
About Eeka

Eeka is a Windgust through and through, despite her inability to
channel magic. She worships her ancestors and the family name, she feels like
magic has destroyed her family over time and is the cause of her familys
downfall over the years.
Eeka despises the Masters of Five Magics, in
fact she takes regular trips to places that hold it keepsakes just to defile
them again.
Play full in her outlook she is often joking at her
expense or of others, she doesnt take anything too personally. Except the
use of magic.
