seems to be trying to give himself the confidence that
his mannerisms reveal he lacks. handsome and deep
sharp features make up for it, as does the innocence
that seems to exude from him. He is dressed in
simple blue robes that mark a modest origin, not
rich or poor.
Role
Entry 1 - History
Added Sun Dec 1 18:56:54 2019 at level 51:
Elladorius was born the only son of human parents who lived in Tir-Talath.
The father was a craftsman who provided small crafted furniture for housing that
was sold to the local populace, was the mother aided Alanna in harvesting the
wild flowers that bloomed in the surrounding area. His father had been a handsome
and dashing man who had won the hand of his mother, a daughter of a rich and
successful merchant from Voralia. Unfortunately, his father proved to be more an
idealist than a skilled businessman, and money was often short in the family. This
was a cause of constant tension in the home, as his mother was more used to a
lavish lifestyle and resented that they had moved to Tir Talath.
As a young child Elladorius was often ostracised by the other children, on account
of the educated Voralian accent that he had acquired from his mother. He had a
gentle nature and loved to sing. Unfortunately this talent was not realised due
to an incident at one of the harvest festivals, where he and some other children
were to perform a musical piece. He had forgotten his lines, and was subject to
akward silence and small digs, which further led to his isolation from the other
children of his age.
A treasure trove of books however had been left to him by his mother, who herself
had a love for reading. Tales of heroes, children going on adventures, pixies up
to mischief and rabbits that could turn into eye tyrants filled his day to day,
drowning out the pain of ostracism. Yet it was the stories of the heavens that
he most grew to love, tales of angels battling demons, of the gods of light in
their endless battles against the dark devils of the underworld.
Entry 2 - Encounter
Added Sun Dec 1 18:58:14 2019 at level 51:
On his eighth birthday, while walking home from school and as usual deep in the
thoughts of his books, he noticed a large giant leaning against a tree, armored in
dull gray plate that looked battered. Bleeding from a wound, the giant beckoned
the young boy, and Elladorius approached. It was then that Elladorius noticed the
red skin and hair, and from his books he realised that this was a fire giant, a
race known for their wickedness and evil. The giant removed his horned helm and
revealed a face of cruel disdain, his eyes piercing as his lips curled in a sneer.
"Come here, boy."
Elladorius turned and ran, dropping his books, his heart pumping, adrenalin filling
his vein. Behind him he heard a weak but sinister cackle followed by a choking
laugh. Had Elladorius been a trained mage he would have felt the the sizzle of
dark sorcery in the air, but what he did feel was a sudden and intense lethargy that
fell immediately upon him, his legs felt like they had tuned into stone, and all
of the adrenalin that had spurred him to run from this danger had not completed
left him. An intense pain surged through his young body, and he fell to his knees.
As quickly as the pain came, it left, and with a sudden curiousity he had the odd
sensation of great freedom and bliss. For a strange reason he started to float
upward, and as he looked down he saw his body, a pale tinge covering it. Despite
the feeling of security and love that now filled his entire being, at the cursory
borders of his consciousness he realised what had happened. He had died.
Entry 3 - Vision
Added Sun Dec 1 18:59:33 2019 at level 51:
All the pain from the spell that had killed him had left, and so too were the bad
memories of a lonely childhood filled with shame and mockery. Here was bliss and the
quiet sensation that he was not alone, and was truly and completely loved. He now
could no longer see his body, but instead his senses were filled with sensations
ten, twenty times the intensity of what he was used to when he was alive. Colors
were more vibrant, smells were intense, and all around him shone a bright light that
even the sun on a noon day could not compare.
He saw the flashings of his young life, the love of his parents, the pain and worry
they had over his birth. Then he saw the future, his life as a young man, studying,
fighting, walking with angels and participating in a grand battle. Other events
blazed through, as though compiling the stories of a thousand scrolls into a single
breath. Different planes of existence, a hundred upon a hundred, all swirled into
a single symphony of a lifetime of knowledge that took place within an eye twinkle.
It was then that he heard the voice, a deep and calming resonance that spoke with
authority and familiarity. "It is not time for you, Ella", and as quickly as that
he was pulled back into his body.
The handsome face of an elf peered down at him, curious, amused and concerned. He
felt a hand on his shoulder and warmth spread through from the elf's palm. The elf
smiled, and Elladorius smiled back. Then unceremoniously lost consciousness.
Entry 4 - Guild
Added Sun Dec 1 19:00:50 2019 at level 51:
Twenty years had passed and it was a fairly uneventful life, a human life that was
filled with its usual trials, love lost, small joys and pains. He had chosen to
leave Tir Talath had had joined the Galadon conjuration guild, where he had hoped
to discover more of what had happened, understand the link between life and death,
the heavens and the purpose of being. Unfortunate despite his talent in magic, he
was no closer to the discovering the answers of the true questions he had. After
a good ten years in the guild, he soon became a master of most of the formal magics
that were taught, and found himself like many nights considering the past.
Elladorious pondered the events, recalling that the dark knight had been pursued by
an elven paladin, who had in the very nick of time arrived to heal him of the energy
draining sorcery that had been cast on him. He once again tried to recall the details
of the intense vision that had infused his entire being during his young near death
experience, but he could not.
"Some things are best left for the future", said Jehu. Jehu was the little cherub
that had answered the familiar spell, and as it turns out was not really his familiar
in the typical wizard sense. Jehu had explained to Elladorius that while he had
answered the call of the spell, he was here on his own accord and was there for a
very specific purpose, but refused to answer what this purpose was, or provide any
details of the vision that Elladorious had.
Entry 5 - Summary to date
Added Sun Dec 1 19:02:59 2019 at level 51:
Due to the humble idealism of his father and the educated but spoiled upbringing of his
mother, his character is both down to earth and gentle, but also demanding in creature
comforts. He spends most of his coin both donating to those in need as well as ensuring
he always had comfortable amenities, which results in not having much of coin most of
the time.
He is driven to discover both the lost memories of the vision as well as its purpose. To
that end he pesters his guardian cherub Jehu almost daily, but receives almost no answers
beyond that of "Trust".
While a member of the conjuration guild and possessing some skill in its magic, he has the
temperament more of a minstrel or a healer, of which he has little talent. He will seldom,
if ever, be seen hunting the wicked, though he will defend his loved ones and the Fortress
to which he has pledged his allegiance. He is often torn between having to fight, and by
nature would prefer to avoid conflict if he is able to.
Elladorius is generally very patient with most people he encounters, but has a weakness
for those he deems to be dishonest or manipulative.
Elladorius favors Archons over Angels, as he prefers the concepts of protection of the
innocent, namely himself, over the destruction of the wicked. This is significantly a
result of his encounter with the anti-paladin from his youth. He suffers from a form of
post traumatic stress disorder but does not realise it.
Elladorius does not have any particular religion, but has a deep and abiding belief in
the prevailing nature of "Goodness", "Light", "Love", as a result of his near death
experience. He does not pray to any one particular god, but more the Source of goodness
in an abstract sense. He considers archons and angels as the servants of this Source.
He is a formidable clairvoyant and master of the spell, but keeps a blindfold by his side
and quickly puts it on should he spy any one either in an intimate relation or in ablutions.
He is very Scribelike in this fashion and respects privacy, even if they are dark elves and
especially if they are duergars.
Entry 6 - Jehu
Added Wed Dec 18 14:28:14 2019 at level 51:
It seems that Jehu is extremely upset over the last
incident with the blessed archon. He refuses to answer
my calls. I have since been able to call other cherubs
with the familiar spell but they are not him.
It seems the heavy burden I have over my failure
will be shouldered by myself. Strange that I have
grown so attached to the little rascal. I hope
he is well, and that he will forgive me as my
other brothers and sisters have.
(Will not be using the familiar spell until
further notice)
Entry 7 - Archons and Caution
Added Fri Dec 20 10:28:34 2019 at level 51:
I have since published a modest analysis of archons
that I have circulated to the various conjuration
guildmasters for admission into their private libraries.
It is my intent to approach the very Lady of
Mysteries herself, Ishuli, to see if she would consider
adding my work to her own collection for public
reference. It is a modest work, but perhaps it will
be of use to someone, and save someone. If that
is the case, the research I have put in would be
well rewarded.
