Description
The features of this elf seem to be a dichotomy of themselves. His face is
made of finely chiseled points, a sharp jaw and high, prominent cheek bones
and ears swept back nearly eight inches acuminate in a sharp end. But his
gold eyes shine softly like twin suns casting golden hues over his bronze
skin, like the first brief moments of dawn. Other than his golden eyebrows,
no hair is on his head, and sweat often beads on his pate before running
unimpeded down his neck like creeks and streams down a mountain side. His
bronze skin is stretched taught over well toned, yet lithe muscles that
carries him with an elvish grace. Lastly, very few possessions other than
essentials can be seen or heard clanging about this silent presence.
Role
Men of Ideals.

Life was so much simpler in the woods of Aldevari where I grew up. I was
raised by my father, never knowing my mother. I could only imagine her royal
graces told to me by my hunter of a father. He would never speak of what
befell her, and did his best to guard me from that bloodline.
Yet, I always felt a yearning to a higher calling, something more than a
simple woodsman. Whenever we would visit Vincent or travel near the jousting
field, I was always in awe of the knights in their armor, and the grace with
which they wielded their lances. My father would often correct my form with
my spear, deriding me for wielding it as if it were something more than a
hunting implement.
But it was more than their arms and armor that impressed me about the
knights. Born upon their coat of arms, and sang of as they entered the
tournament field were their deeds. These were men of honor, duty, and
tenacity. They bested great beasts, and protected the farms and farmers. They
believed in ideals far noblier than what our elven fables held possible of
mere men. My father could not diminish my admiration for them.
Rampant Criminal Activity.

As I said before, life was much simpler in the woods. On an ill-fated day, my
father bid me to journey for the first time alone to Galadon to sell our
pelts and bone knives. I had made the journey countless times with my father,
and everything seemed as it should have been.
But when I arrived, Galadon was in tumult. As I approached the leatherer's
shop, something seemed amiss. The smell of burning flesh came from within the
store, and smoke slowly seeped from under the shingles of the roof. Glancing
within, a wicked dark elf had flayed the leatherer open on his counter, and
was lighting the place on fire with glee. Rizdyn, the Nightreaver's name was,
darted into the alley as guards from around the town were yelling of the
assault of the ranger Yualiss. Both of these were known criminals with
posters about town. Yet other unknown vagabonds, like the shaman Bergern were
assaulting citizens with no recourse since no Magistrates were present.
I could do little but stand there and bear witness to the pandemonium.
Shopkeeper's barred their doors, and the citizens moved inside. Unable to
sell my wares, I had little recourse but to return to Aldevari. But the
grizzly scene did not at the gates, in fact it grew worse the further east I
traveled. First, it was the corpses of patrolmen, but that was almost to be
expected with the murderous reputation of those in Galadon. But, unexpected
was the tipped carts strewn about by vegetables, and the still warm corpses
of the farmers who so painstakingly grew them.
As I entered the trees to Aldevari, the trees were marred with blood as well.
Worried, I made haste to my father's hut. As if made into some sort of
grotesque sculpture, my father laid cold in his entrails, strewn about him
into the shape of some tree. In the midst of his splayed open abdomen was an
unusual, sharp seed, surely a criminals grotesque call sign.

A New Direction.

Needless to say, I was distraught. Those woods held nothing but sorrow for
me, and I did not even like the profession my father was attempting to
instill. I took what worthwhile goods I could find, and headed north, to the
Shining City, Voralia.
Sulking about my business, it was there the Crone-Knight took notice of me.
She invited me into the Hall, fed me, and had me bathed. She listened in her
wisdom to my story, and offered me a new beginning. She offered to teach me
the way of the Paladins, and much like the knights of Aldevari, she offered
me a Code to live by. She did not offer me vengeance nor retribution upon the
wicked that wreaked havoc upon my life. But she did offer me an opportunity
to stand for something, what ever it may be.
It did not take me long to know what must be done, what I stood for. I knew
in my heart of hearts, I would not, nay, could not rest while criminals
walked freely. I knew their deeds made it so no citizen of Thera could be
safe, while justice was left unmetered.
Panmorne's Questions.

Much time and many key events have passed since I left the Hall of the
Templars in Voralian City. As I learned about the pantheon, I felt a draw to
the Lord Commander's tent, as much as I found a draw to the Spire. The later
was a draw for vindication and justice, the former was for knowledge and
understanding. Both, have proven essential for finding my direction.
In my conversation with the Lord Panmorne, I my prior beliefs were
challenged. Was it the criminal that was the true enemy? How would you wage
that war? If you struck out on your own in pursuit of the criminals, as
before I may very well return to find the cities razed and new criminals
arisen. What was the goal I hope to accomplish?
While criminals were the culprits to the tragedy of my life, they perhaps
were not the cause. Honesty, dedication, and respect for arduous labor. Those
were what was breached to turn my life into tragedy. To understand that,
would be to answer one of the Commanders questions poised. No, it is not
acceptable to only chase and apprehend criminals at the expense to the safety
of upstanding citizens.
What then would I accept as victory?
The Power of Civilization and Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes.

The Lord Panmorne also directed me to speak with those I would consider
enemies, and I could think of no better individual than one of the leaders
of the brigands of the Tree. It was this conversation with the Harbinger,
combined with an astute direction from the Provost Ilyana that proved most
insightful.
When I confronted the Harbinger Elandarn as to why he was
marked as a criminal, I was met with both an expected and unexpected
response. First, he stated that he has never been marked for murder, theft,
or any other breach of the Laws, other than the 4th. He had only ever been
marked as wanted from a direct assault on the Spire or Executioner. This was
rather unexpected, though his rationale, seemed as insipid as they come.
He seizes the scales because they are a power of civilization. This, seemed
as weak an argument as I have ever heard. Even without the Blood Tribunal,
without the Spire, civilization would continue, even flourish. It was here
that Ilyana's direction to read Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes by Servielln
Iglesiun in the Eternal Library provided even more insight into why this is
an utterly flawed argument.
The power of civilization lies in collaboration. Once, collaboration between
man, crop, and animal, the foundations of agriculture. But more so, as
Servielln stated, collaboration between men and women to watch over one
another during times most vulnerable. Even the strongest must sleep, eat,
even defecate. Without others, even the largest herd bull will be brought
low. This means the roots of civilization are in the basis of any organized
and mutually beneficial behavior. Even in their barbaric ways, even the tree
follows their own precepts, and looks out for one another, the very basis of
civilization.
This, I returned to time and time again, as this is my draw for upholding the
law. To be the watch for those who would work together to survive, and
knowing others shall watch for my times of weakness.
