Description
Before you is a an odd looking human man. Confused might be a better
appraisal. He is clothed strangely by anyones standards. He wears a
silken doublet, of a fine quaility upon his torso, the color is two-tone,
a dark forest green on the breast, and a bright emerald green in the
collar. Brown trousers of decent craftsmanship cover his lower
extremities, they appear to have a strange pattern the likes of tree bark
woven into the fabric. Altogether, a strangely posh outfit. Clasped
around his neck, is a cloak that seems to be made from fallen leaves,
although you are left wondering how such leaves were ever woven into
fabric. A rather ornate headdress adorns his head of curled auburn hair,
ringlets not dropping below his ears. Two colorful wings of an unknown
bird are affixed to a woven wreath of juniper which appears to be living
still - even upon his head! His headress is worn in a stately manner,
and he appears to carry himself like a foreign dignitary. Looking upon
his face your gaze falls upon two azure-blue eyes, of remarkable clarity.
His gaze is hard to avoid. A petite nose squarely below and between
them, is almost to small for his face. His lips are thin, and drawn
tight, betraying no emotion. Overall, his face is fair, and his
complexion is relatively dark. He holds a crooked staff of dark mahogany
in his hands, and seems to walk with purpose.
Upon closer inspection you notice...

My introduction

Born into the world to a noble house in Hamsah Mu'tazz. Son of an
educated mother and father whome were held in high regards by the Sultan.
Ever since he was a young boy, Ethylbrok had shamelessly pursued
knowledge with a dedication surpassed by few. As close as his family had
been to the Sultan, he had unfettered access to the Sultan's great
library and managed an education that few citizens were lucky enough to
acquire. He spent much of his free time wandering about the parks and
gardens of Thera's largest cities and became quite taken with the study
of botany. It was not long until he found himself wandering outside the
walls of the various cities, trying to find and identify various obscure
plant species. His parents took immediate notice, and decided in his
teen years that he should be instructed by a guildmaster who is very
familiar with the wilderness and the botanical wonders it contained.
This proved quite troublesome, because all of the masters teaching at the
rangers guilds they visited in Thera, outright refused to train the
spoiled child of a noble family. So they began to approach various Druid
guilds in the wilds of Thera, and for the most part were met with as much
refusal. Until they visited the orderly druids of the Holy Grove.
Ethylbrok's parents beseeched the guildmaster to train their son, and
after a demonstration of his moderate botanical knowledge, the
guildmaster agreed. Ethylbrok's parents were pleased, their son would
get the education and training that he needed to explore and catalogue
the wild flora and fauna of Thera.
The decision to study with the druids came with a price however, and left
Ethylbrok torn between the comforts of his family estate in Hamsah and
the few comforts that the wilderness provides. As Ethybrok grew in his
studies, he began looking for ways to combine the pleasures of the two.
How could he bring the world outside civilization that he loved, into the
civilized world which he was also accustomed. This became a life-journey
for him, and he became obsessed with learning to manipulate plants in
such a way that they could be grown into their intended end purpose. Why
cut down a tree to build a chair, if you could manage to simply grow a
sapling into a chair from the beginning!
Expeditions!

Ethylbrok having grown some as a botanist and expeditionist, Has
embarked upon a scientific quest to cultivate, catalogue and analyze the
various plant specimen he has encountered in his travels. It is a noble
quest, and one which he hopes to document well in his manuscript for
Ishuli's great library. It is his hope that this knowledge will be found
practical, and useful to adventurers for generations to come! But
botanical expeditions are not without their own inherent dangers! And
while on a recent expedition, Ethylbrok was assailed by brigands and
bandits, common criminals! This would certainly put future botanical
expeditions in jeapordy, with any manner of wild savage jumping out of
the bushes to assail him as he collects his precious specimen. After
some consulting with the lawful dignitaries of various cities, it dawned
upon him that he should aspire to protect people from these criminal
savages both in his beloved home of Hamsah Mu'tazz, and out in the wilds
that share this love. It would no longer be an option for criminals to
hide in the wilderness and assail unsuspecting scientists! Choosing this
path, it became apparent to him that it would become quite difficult to
both protect the cities, and the wilderness from these rogue thugs! How
would he manage to maintain a familiarity with the wild places of Thera,
and also stand watch and remain vigilant in the cities? That will be a
problem for him that he is willing to solve! Time will tell what becomes
of Ethylbrok Circinatum the great and some day renowned botanist!
Ground Breaking Research
Added Thu Apr 6 13:06:58 2017 at level 51:
Ethylbrok in his quest of scientific research and botanical excellence,
continues to break ground in several areas of research. Whilst out in
the wilds of the Violet Woods looking for plant specimen to catalogue for
his research, he began to uncover clues about a major expedition of
druids past that ended poorly. This led him down a path of great
discovery. Piecing together the clues from the former expedition,
Ethylbrok discovered a great truth about the world of Thera. All things
under the sun and stars are utilizing telluric currents to exist. Solving
the mystery of the great Menhir in the Violet Woods, Ethylbrok came to
realize his own personal telluric affinity was compossed of three
currents - Lightning, Water and strangely Necromancy. The last affinity
bothered him some, as he had never dabbled in Necromancy at all, and the
greatest thing he had ever been able to animate was a stick.
Manipulating the telluric currents coursing through flesh had never been
part of his studies.
This discovery had an enormous impact on some research he had been doing
into the growth of plant life. Certainly as a priest he could pray, and
Ishuli would answer his prayers to command a briar bush, or animate a
Treant, or command the telluric energies of metals. But these feats were
only accomplished through the power given to his prayers by the divine
witch. For once, he believed he had actually made an enormous discovery.
He had been seeking to find a way to alleviate mans impact on the wild
places of the Thera, and perhaps just stumbled upon the key! Armed with
the knowledge he acquired in the Violet Woods - and knowing that telluric
currents pervaded everything - the stones, the plants, the animals, man,
the elements themselves. Perhaps the prayer he had come to use to
manipulate metal worn by his foes, could be adapted to manipulate...well,
just about anything! He began to imagine a world in which lumber was no
longer needed to construct a home, or tables, or chairs. A world in
which instead these conveniences of the modern world were grown from
living plants, cared for and tended by those who used them. Perhaps like
the city of Darsylon, an entire metropolosis grown from the forest and
cared for by the citizens!
Lady Ishuli had agreed to create a garden space in the great library, and
that Ethylbrok and Phari would tend to it. Though he has yet to meet
Phari, he is curious is their ideas will coexist in peace. Ethylbrok has
resolved to put his hypothesis to the test in the garden of the Great
Library, and if he is successful - envisions Galadon itself grown from
the soil using the telluric currents to speed its construction. Perhaps
when the refuge learns how important his discovery really is - they will
cease to mock him and instead embrace some form of peace between it's
citizens.
