Description

An extremely short and stout figure nearly passes your gaze, if it werent for his large girth around the waist he just may have. A dusty colored face, with good natured features look out at you, the deep green eyes buzz with a fire and intensity that could be seen within the ninth circle of the inferno. Dark brown almost black hair runs raggedly down past his shoulders looking barely taken care of you notice several twigs and even a few bugs stuck in the messy mass. Around his neck a ragged travelling traveling cloak is clasped with a blood red ruby the size of this small gnomes fist. At his waist a wide belt barely contains what lies beneath and the buttons of his shirt strain to hold back his engorged stomach.

A Child Forgotten

Born Levellen Kelaricson, known to Thera however as Etristasat Kelaricson a
young gnome from Hillcrest whom lived a life of exclusion and solitude. Not
due to deformity, tragedy or hate. But due to simple neglet and
disappointment.

The reason for this is quite simple actually, you see his Parents both
extremely well off gnomes within Hillcrest, had part ownership in the mine
there. A passion for mining their bloodline were of the strongest gnomes,
ever heard of Levanimilis the Hearty? Or perhaps Kelaric the Minute
Barbarian? Both from the Kelaricson bloodline (the Barbarian being the
first). This very bloodline was Levellens, now known as Etristasat.

Now the disappointment I spoke of was not of Etristasat, but of his parents.
You see the bloodline was uncommonly strong and hardy among the gnome race.
Etristasat somehow, missed these hearty genes. Born limper than an elf, with
less constitution than a fairy, Etristasat was no stronger in adolescence
than he was at birth. 

With the hope that their son would take up the pickaxe and join his family in
the mines was swiftly abolished with the simple fact that, he could not
actually wield the pickaxe to be of use! It was not on purpose, nor out of
hate but very slowly the disappointment showed in their action toward their
son and Etristasat was soon left to fend for himself.

A Meaning Found

Left to himself Etristasat was at a loss, and most depressed during his
youngest years. It was here, as many children have, found an escape in books.
With such a well off family he did not just have access to simple children
books. He had books by the greatest alchemists, conjurers, invokers and
archmages in all of History. From the elf Trothon, to the Archmage
Khaardrath.

It was amongst these books Etristasat not only found an escape, but meaning
and purpose for his meagre life! It was here, he knew what must be done.
Firstly he would leave his home of Hillcrest, he knew his family would barely
even notice his passing. Secondly he would seek out the Guildhall of the
Invokers for it was here he was most drawn to. He vowed to become a master of
the elements.

Magic

Magic to Etristasat is the meaning of his life. It gave him opportunity when
there was none, it gave him hope when all hope was extinguished, it actually
gave him a life to look forward too, a life that he could create a legacy
with!

It is with that, Etristasat, vowed not only to become a master of Invocation,
but to follow the Mighty Lord Twist, god of Magic and perhaps under his
guidance and tutelage become a true Archmage of Thera. Perhaps one of the
greatest on record, he vowed to promote magic throughout the lands, to
protect and teach all Magi that he could all in the benefit of magi, and
Magic.

Balance

Throughout his readings when he first learnt of the magics he now practices,
Etristasat also learnt of the histories of the Ages past, the mistakes and
the triumphs that occurred.

The biggest realisation that Etristasat had, was the fact that during each
age it was the great imbalance of power, when an individual or group became
too powerful too great. It was then that the world would shift, that the end
would come.

It was with this realisation he knew, that if that happened in this world. He
would not become an Archmage, all of his own studies would end! He knew he
would fight for balance to maintain. He would become a Seeker of Balance!

From Levellen to Etristasat

When Levellen first entered the lands, he held many debts to some of the more
shadier gnomes back in Hillcrest. As extraditing himself from Hillcrest and
moving to Galadon cost money, money that he did not have. Borrowing from
these shady individuals was his only option.

It was however, a long shot that they wouldnt find him at some stage.
Cloaking himself using his spell of invisibility he evaded them for some
time, before coming to the conclusion and with some higher help. He altered
his identity in the lands and from this day onwards he was known as
Etristasat.

Invocation

During his young learning of his guild, learning what future studies he would
need to partake in to become a true master of his Guild. The more he learnt
of the earth path, the more his heart sank recalling his harsh upbringing. It
is due to this heartache that Etristasat feels no affinity to the element of
earth, and will forever find it more difficult and challenging to perfect the
spells along that path.

In direct opposite however, he finds a greater affinity and favoritism
towards the element of water and all spells within that path. As the direct
opposite element to earth, it is a great contrast and displays his heartache
he still feels over his past.

Etristasat's Life Thus Far

The road has been a bumpy one for Etristasat, many deaths at the hands of the
powerful magi and demons throughout Thera whom take the secrets of their
powerful magics to the grave with them, still relinquish no wands.

Throughout his endeavours and grand travels however he has located numerous
wands to grant him great protections against those that might influence the
unbalancing of Thera. He slowly assists all the magi that he meets where to
seek magics that may strengthen themselves, or new and improved methods to
learn the spells of their respective guilds.

While he seeks ultimate balance throughout Thera, he also seeks knowledge and
strength in Magic, and the conductors of mana, the Magi.
His life within the Isle has been troublesome, he has seen many within it
fumble with the simplest tasks and at times forces him to wonder the good
they offer the Isle and the greater balance as a whole. 

Though, still he attempts to teach and instruct them to improve themselves,
however his future is clear, he will set himself with the task of achieving
the title of Meter of Mind and lead the Isle to better and stronger days.

Demielemental Transcendence

Laying down strapped to a large table, the middle aged Etristasat twists his
wrists slightly, a small icicle being created at his fingertips and thrusts
out moving a switch beside the table into the down position. 

Several clunking and shifting noises can be heard as gears grind and move,
within the laboratory five tubes surround the large table, each one
containing a form of one if the seven primary elements. The First is liquid
magma representing fire, the Second crystal blue Waters representing Water,
the Third crackles as electricity buzzes within it representing Lightning,
the Fourth full of soil that quakes and shudders as if being constantly
shifted by earthquakes representing Earth and the Fifth contains liquid ooze
constantly swirling and shifting within the massive tube which represents
Ooze.

At the base of each tube, a funnel which then extends onto a smaller tube
that leads to the table, and strapped to the gnome Etristasat, the tubes
actually plunge deep within the gnomes body. The Fire tube into each major
artery to replace blood, Lightning through to the heart, to improve and
increase palpitation, Water to the muscles to ensure proper hydration, Earth
to the final layer of the epidermis to thicken the skin and improve recovery,
and Ooze to the stomach cavity to increase and solidify the major organs to
protect them being twisted aggravated.

With the gears grinding the materials slowly plunge down from their large
tubes, into the funnels and move into the gnomes body. As the materials
plunge themselves into him, Etristasat screams an endless moan of pain.

This is how he Etristasat transcends normal mortality, and becomes more
elemental than mortal.

Power

As Etristasat grows, he has felt the power within him swell in age. While he
knows he has only lived half of his life, his thirst for knowledge and more
power becomes pressing to him.

In search of the power he seeks he has delved deep into the Inferno, slaying
several of the Archdemons in hopes of stealing some of their powers. For
Etristasat however, the powers remain locked.

As he has always done, he still assists Magi to learn and progress through
their studies. This frustrates him, as he has taken Corvalah the Spectre into
the Ghoul Tunnels and there, he now sits and incubates to become a Mummy, a
living undead.

For Etristasat it was simple for Corvalah to double his power if he lives
through the incubation. In search of more power and strength that he can
manipulate to maintain balance forever longer, he has searched out the Lady
Rayihn. In her divine wisdom, she set the task to Etristasat to watch over
Corvalah and create a Mummy out of him which Etristasat has done all that is
possible to ensure it can happen. 

She also mentioned, that speaking with the Lord of Devils, Lord Sacer may
give up some of the secrets of the underworld.

Etristasat sought Lord Sacer out, and told Etristasat that it would require
payment for any boon that he could give and so the Lord Sacer has gone to
think of what payment would deem it worthy for him to release the secrets of
the Icon of Baphomet to him.

Etristasat does not seek just mindless power, he seeks true power that can be
controlled and manipulated. He seeks to be a true Archmage of Thera, not just
a simple Magi, master of Invocation.
