Description
You find yourself looking upon a caucasian human male with olive
tanned skin. His build is athelitic, lean and agile. He is above average
height for a human male, and can be regarded as handsome for his race.
His hair is dark black like the color of a raven, kept short and neat. A
matching verdi beard covers his face, while two sharp blue eyes
glimmer with a sense of drive and intent. Tattooed upon his neck is
black triangle interlocked with a red ring and in the center a green dash.
Last, dangling around his neck on a silver chain is silver phoenix.

Chapter 1 - It Begins

A single blade is drawn partially from its sheath, its long rest finally
coming to an end. The blade shines brilliantly and the reflection of two
sharp blue eyes can be seen staring, a deep anger and sadness echoing.
They close for a moment as recent memory floods back to the man
holding the blade.
Fire rages all around. Common folk scream in panic, rushing to put out
flames engulfing the small village. Kneeling, and holding a woman in his
hands is the same man. Tears stream from his eyes as he watches the
woman speak her last words. As those whispers leave her lips he pulls
her tight, desiring her breath one last time.
A man on horse back ahead of a troop of centurions grins as he relishes
the disheartening scene. A snide voice echoes "Those who would hide
anathema and challenge the Empire shall suffer her wrath. Let this be
lesson to all of you. And to you Eybaen, your deserettion is the cause of
all this. End yourself so I need not make more examples."
The Imperials turned and left, the village in flames, a woman, a lover, a
means of salvation dead. A man broken. An anathema made to suffer.
Eybaen's eyes swelling with tears, reaches down to a pendant around
the girl's neck. Taking it and putting around his own neck.
Eybaen opens his eyes once more, staring into the steel reflection of the
blade. "You should have killed me instead..." he whispers as he sheathes
the weapon, his old friend.
Summary, Expecatations, Goals, and Personallity
Added Tue Mar 24 01:49:23 2020 at level 3:
Eybaen was once an assassin for the Empire, one of its Shadows. He was
skilled enough that he wasn't unknown among its ranks, successfully
carrying out his missions. It wasn't until one mission that everything
changed. The one where he met Maria, the woman who would change
him. Tasked to kill her, he instead fell in love with her and abandoned
the Empire, hoping to hide away with her in a small village.
Eventually the Empire found him and named him Anathema. Instead of
killing him, the Empire sought to make an example and burned the
village, killing Maria in the process, hoping to leave Eybaen broken.
What they did instead was awaken him.
So now he seeks to pay the Empire back with blood. To hunt its people
down and see they can cause no more suffering and oppression, and
sate his own revenge.
Eybaen is evil, because he did evil before he met Maria. She hoped to
change him, redeem him. In honor of her memory, Eybaen will not kill
good, only hunting evil.
Goals
Kill Imperials
Level up w/o killing good npcs (in fact never purposely kill goodies at all)
Will not actively try to kill good or neutral players, but will kill them if attacked.
Seek redemption (not quickly, and not easily). He wears a silver phoenix
pendant around his neck, his love's necklace.
Plans to follow Rahsungomel. Blessed are the Lost.
There will be more back story entries to provide more of his character
and history to come. I don't want to overwhelm anyone with role
entries right away.
Journal Entry - A Chance Encounter with a Divine Cat
Added Fri Mar 27 07:59:22 2020 at level 25:
I was within the Grove, resting when I heard him. It was a teasing at
first, then He made himself known to me. A little taunt at who was
better at hiding, then I suggested to learn about Her. It was surprising to
be asked to do such. That one from the Heavens itself would take their
time to even reveal themself to me. So how could I not at least put forth
the effort?
I first chased a rumor I learned of during my time as a Shadow. A people
to the far north who stood against Udgaard Loke. When I arrived, I was
looked at with suspicion at first, but was welcomed none the less. I was
invited to tea with their wise woman where she talked to me about Her.
Then the chief himself bade me to seek the mystics of his people. There
they taught me that She was in everything. The Land, the Sky, the
Water, and the Fire. She was even in the Spirit of beings. But I still felt
there was more to learn.
I found a reaver named Kromsha and questioned him, seeking still more
answers. He taught me Her name was Thar-Eris, and She had been
but no more. That the Refuge seeks to restore things back to
when things were right and ancient. To stop the oppression of great
cities and the Empire. To lead people back to harmony with Her. I
understand that the Reavers are the fire to burn away the old, the
Wardens the seed of new life, and the Sentinels the balance. I hope this
is what the great hunter, Ergrush, wished me to learn.
Chapter 2 - A Candle lit
Added Sun Mar 29 00:22:43 2020 at level 26:
Loss. She was gone. She was my everything. They thought to drive me to
despair and anguish, and that they did. They however opened my own
eyes. That granted me clarity. Clarity of my past. That I should be reborn
from the lies the Imperials created.
They will know Loss. They will experience each drop of pain, and that it
will ripple through their lands, their souls, and their hearts. I will be
their Monster. Their Nightmare, their boogeyman. I will allow no
quarter. I will be the reason they light their candles at night.
Journal Entry - Order is in Nature
Added Sun Mar 29 03:06:35 2020 at level 26:
Ergush gave me pause to think on how order exist in nature. I have
given even more thought beyond the example that was provided. The
very cycle of life is order! Her guidance shows that we are born, we live,
and then we die to return back to the soil, so it can began anew. This is
order. Only those who dabble with the rising up the dead seek to upset
this order of life.
But there is more. Seasons always come and go in the same pattern.
Spring to Summer, Summer to Autum, Autum to Winter, and Winter to
spring. It is in the migration of birds. Always constant. The cycle of moon
never changes. It always follows an order. This creates structure in
nature. Lets man know what to expect, when to plant crops, and when
to harvest. What clothes will be needed. The coming of dawn, and the
setting of the stars. Always constant.
Then there are animals. Wolves for example. They have a clear leader,
an Alpha. They hunt together, working together, travel in a certain
formations to protect their old and sick and young. Prediators feed off
their prey. A creature's life is but a cycle. That is order in nature.
Chapter 3 - The Mark
Added Mon Mar 30 23:34:12 2020 at level 33:
"Took you long enough to return, Shadow. One of the Elite Shadows
want to see you. Suspect they got a new job for ya." the sect guard
spoke.
Eybaen made his way into the inner sanctum of the sect, quickly finding
the Elite Shadow the guard mentioned. "You wished to see me?"
"Aye, Shadow, we've got another task for you. This time your mark is a
young woman named Maria. She is to be eliminated."
"A young woman? What threat could she impose to the Empire?" the
assassin questioned.
"It doesn't matter, Shadow. For all I know she could have turned down a
night with an Imperial Noble, burned their dinner, or anything. Just see
that is is done!" the elite replied.

Eybaen made his way to the settlement the woman named Maria lived
according to intel. He still had some reservations about killing a
commoner, but it was his mark.
He found her and his breath was taken away. She was beautiful. Long
raven hair, bright blue eyes, and a warming smile. She worked as a
serving girl in the local tavern. So it would begin. He would study her
first to find the best moment to complete his mission.
Days went by and through them, Eybaen shadowed her. Watched her
day unfold, her night come to an end, and then begin anew. She existed
with a warming light, a friendliness that brought peace to those around
her. She was caring, compassionate, a true good person.
Then the night came for him to take action. He waited for her a few
buildings down for her to finish working for the day. It was winter, and it
was cold, and it began to snow. The white flakes fell, a shower of gentle
kisses upon the skin, a purity of the night.
The moment had arrived. Maria was making her way home. Her
beautiful raven hair glistening and sparkling from the snow, a beholden
sight of winter's touch. He made his way behind her, moving silently and
with purpose. He grabbed her, turning her to face him. He stood their a
moment lost in her eyes. And then, he kissed her.

The smell of sea filled my nostrils as I landed upon the dismisal shore.
Ahead of me rose a cathedral, old and in shambles. One would think it
was abandoned at a casual glance, but the shadows themselves told a
different story. I strode forward pushing open the wooden door, its
creaking sound alerting anyone or anything that might lie inside.
The last bit of light of the day pierced through parts of the ruined ceiling
braking away parts of the darkness making the shadows come to life. In
the center of the room there was a well and before it a pillow. I had
been here before, knelt upon that pillow and praying to the Lord of Loss.
Now, there was a tug, a summoning of sorts to come here. Visions of
Maria had filled my head to the point that I swear I had saw her walking
here. But she was dead, dead forever and all I had were my memories.
Then I heard it. A child like laughter, teasing and taunting as this worn,
broken doll clambered from the shadows. It would have been unnerving
had I not witnessed some dark things during my time in the Empire. But
none the less it spoke.
Its words gave me pause, shocking me to my core. It made an
interesting observation. I didn't tell Maria why I was there or that her
life was threatened by the Empire. I was selfish, enraputred by her love,
her beauty, that perhaps I did fear to tell her that I might have lost her.
The irony of losing her regardless showed me I was but a fool.
So I was tasked to understand what a friend and enemy fear to lose.
Another step in understanding of Loss. To know more than what drives
me, but instead drives others. As I left, I couldn't but help that those
glass eyes watched me with full purpose.
Player Characters and how I see them who've interacted with Eybaen
Added Thu Apr 9 22:16:57 2020 at level 45:
First, let me start off saying, this is how I view the other players from an
OOC perspective and how I think they are interacting with Eybaen. I
could totally be wrong as I am not privy to their roles and conversations.
Also as a side note, feel free to use any of this against or for Eybaen. I
am generally not against Immeraction, good or bad. However I do ask
that I don't get disembered (ie lose a hand/arm) or silenced (unless it is
RPed as a curable curse and I have players that can help me find a cure).
Frahyel - My interactions with her lead me to believe she is deeply in
love with Eybaen. She has a soft spot for those in need, and Eybaen is no
expection. There have been some RP with her that leads me, and
Eybaen to believe this might be the case. Do I pursue it or is Eybaen still
hung up on his lost love, Marie. Time will tell.
Jaane - A mixed bag with this character. Eybaen sees a little of himself in
Jaane, which isn't a good thing. Jaane seems to push the envelope of
becoming evil due to his hatred of the Empire. At times Jaane has aided
Eybaen, and others, tried to harm him. Eybaen worries Jaane might
cross the line and descend into darkness. Eybaen is trying to stop this.
Theorendus - Theo seems to be actively trying to help Eybaen overcome
his dark past and become redemed. At first he clearly did not trust,
Eybaen, but he keeps putting forth chances for Eybaen to prove himself.
Theo seems to have a similar past, and perhaps that is what he sees in
Eybaen. Eybaen for the most part does want to prove himself to Theo.
Blodwyn - I doubt she has shared her past with many, but Eybaen feels
for her. He believes that Blodwyn is unable to cope with the Loss she
has experienced and he wants to find away to get her to move on.
Blodwyn seems to have a little bit of respect towards Eybaen, rather for
selfish motivations or the fact Blodwyn has a harsh distaste for the
Empire. She might only see him as a weapon against them.
Angaph - The Shadow Lord has been rentless in the pursuit of having
Eybaen brought to Imperial Justice, but at the same time, I feel Angaph
character sees that Eybaen could have been a great shadow. There
seems to be a past of Angaph that allows him to relate a little to Eybaen.
No doubt enemies, as Eybaen hopes to defeat the Shadow Lord and find
out why there was a mark placed on Marie's life.
Ysnol - Has been a staunch ally of Eybaen, fighting along side one
another as they have grown in strength. Ysnol seems to be a voice
towards the rest of the Outlanders, speaking favorably about Eybaen.
Will this be enough to help Eybaen find his place?
There have been other characters that have interacted with Eybaen, but
not near enough to warrant being listed for the time being.

Rain falls from darkened skies, the chilly touch of the drops enough to
send shivers to one's spine. The wind is soft, offering just whispers and
air gives smokey breath. In a hilly meadowy, a cloaked figure moves
through the dampening weather, the downpour rolling down his heavy
clothing.
He stops at the top of a hill, where a small wooden cross rises from the
earth. The cross is simple, bears no fancy craftmanship nor any markings
or words. The figure falls this knees stretching his hands outward till one
falls upon each side of the cross. His head lowers, water falling from his
hood to mask the few tears that follow.
"My love, my compass," the man whispers with a strained voice. "I pray
that you look down from peaceful bliss and I hope I have found the path
you wished for me."
The man pauses, taking a deep breath, the sadness echoing in his voice.
"I want you to know that I love you, forever and always, and perhaps
one day I will see you again. But..."
A sudden gust of wind howls interrupting him for a moment before he
continues, "But...time passes and times change, and..."
He shakes head, "Just know I will always love you.." The man rises to his
feet, and the assassin Eybaen walks away driving into the storm.
This entry alludes to Eybaen's growing feelings/love for Frahyel and him
letting Marie know that no matter what she will always have his heart.
