Description
The face of Fuhlsang is ageless, neither old nor young, in it is written
the memory of affliction, misery and sorrow. His long and tangled hair
is unnaturally dark, like the shadows of twilight, and within it a streak
of platinum almost as if painted on; his eyes are a deep red, matching
the blood that seeming flows endlessly from his pores. In them a pale
light that seems to reflect the pain he so obviously must endure.
There is no color in his face, where his face showed; it was white; not
like another mans white, but a white to make a body sick, a white to
make a bodys flesh crawl. In stark contrast was a network of purple
veins that scattered across his flawed skin. You can tell he is living
through their pulsating alone; if nothing else. Faint cold breathe can
be seen escaping thin, black lips pulled tight.

Nobody to Nothing

Fuhlsang's upbringing was entirely unremarkable. He was destined for
mediocrity; just another face in the crowd. He had no ambition for
fame or infamy, power or wealth. The only thing he did possess was
a curious habit of collecting pens. As a scribe and translator by profession
he was able to amass a rather impressive collection of pens made from
a wide variety of materials. "Each pen has its own unique story to tell"
he postulated.
His life was to take a sudden and violent turn, like getting hit by
a runaway pachyderm. He was venturing across the Open Plains to
Darsylon on an errand when he came across a radiant celestial circle so
luminous that he had to shield his eyes from its center. A faint voice
was calling out from the circle and as he squinted he could see an
outstretched arm with open palm extending towards him. His genetic
desire to aid destined him to clasp the hand; but as he did so an intense
pulse of celestial energy flared up from the circle and seeped into his
being. In a flash of brilliance that seemed to last for an eternity,
Fuhlsang saw the Azure Fields. For a moment, he was one with the
angelic existence in mind and soul; hovering amongst the purest souls
of the heavens. And then darkness.
The energy had rejected him; his soul ripped asunder leaving him
unconscious and scalded in the plains. He lay within a blackened,
smoldering circle with barely a pulse to call his own. When he awoke
he may as well have awoken as an entirely different person. Broken,
burnt and confused he has lost all memory of his life up to that point.
His soul was stripped bare and left vulnerable for the sins to corrupt.
He was transformed from a lovable nobody to an absolute nothing. Though,
strangely, his love for pens (of all things) seemed to have endured this
life changing event.
Those which Charon denied

Driven by an innate hatred of the Azure-touched, Fuhlsang devoted many
years to researching the Azure Fields. As with most things in life and
death, there is a natural balancing effect imposed on the realm. For
everything there is an opposite, an enemy, a nemesis. Fuhlsang postulates
that such a nemesis exists for the Azure Fields and hopes that his study
into Necromancy can reveal this hidden power and allow him to use it to
destroy an entire race.
His dedication to the black art has allowed him to "bring back life" to that
which was dead. He believes that this dark magic is not just a reanimation
though. Far from just reanimation; it is the binding of a soul to the corpse.
Neither is it the same soul as that which possessed the living body; it is a
soul from the corresponding polar field where souls are trapped on the outskirts
of Hell. Those which Charon denied. Such souls will accept any chance
to leave their current plane of existence.
This is what Fuhlsang believes to be true and this is what he will be using
to banish the Azure-touched back to the fields from which they came. With
his favourite pen at the ready, he is borderline maniacal about perfecting the
art of raising the dead and controlling the most powerful souls to combat
the azure plague that now spreads across the lands of Thera.
