Description

A dirty lout stands before you. You figure him to stand roughly five feet high, and he looks to weigh a bit more then an average human. The first thing you notice are his eyes. They are a pale green in coloration, and bear an intelligence generally foreign to the duergar. His eyebrows are bushy and dirty, with sticks and grease intertwined within. His lips are ghostly white and contrast greatly with the dark grey skin that covers the visible parts of his face. A flame red beard grows upon his face, and it looks to be well kept. It falls down below his knees in two thick braids. An additional look over him reveals:

Role

The Journal: A Lost Prophet

Added Sun Dec 2 11:21:23 2007 at level 32:
Perhaps salvation is not meant for all. The lost souls that wander amongst
the Sunborn do not seem to be fond of the idea of redemption. Mayhaps my
purpose is not to purify them to be welcomed, but to clear them from the path
of the other chosen. It has been a time since the skull has called upon me.
Mayhaps my fate has been changed, or mayhaps this is the biggest test yet. I
will not falter, I will not fail.

The Journal: The Savage Villager

Added Wed Nov 28 17:56:53 2007 at level 27:
It seems that the Lost are much more abundant then I had previously realized.
Almost all I have seen and met in my travels here are ailing, and in dire
need of my aid. Luckily there are others like me, though not as adept. The
are of a barbarian village, the crusaders. It is a strange society to the
outside, but to those within it is a beautiful dance of duty and respect.
They are men and women of pure soul and mightier spirit. I will need their
aid, and they mine if we are both to fulfill our fates.

The Journal: Illness Spreads

Added Mon Nov 19 18:57:30 2007 at level 24:
The sickness seems to spread at an uncanny rate. The number of innocents who
become lost is alarming. Even those who feel they have guidance are lost.
They worship lost gods and pray to an ideal. They are savage in their ways.

If they are to be rescued, they must be educated. Either through voice or
force they will come to understand. They persecute for my faith for being
different. They will soon realize I embody what they seek. I will be the mold
of the new age. Through my struggles and my love Thera will thrive. With my
aid they will see freedom and I will finally be treated for what I am. So it
is fated, so it shall pass.

The Journal: Steps of Understanding

Added Thu Nov 15 20:07:36 2007 at level 21:
"You must rise above the petty squabbles of the flock. Rise up and show them
the path, they will follow."

The skull is beginning to crack under the force from the claw. I have not
been true to my purpose. My failures will also aid my ends. Soon the flock
will realize I am the truth that they seek. They will understand my
struggles, and my love for them. The time will come when they realize just
how lost they are. It is then that I will sweep them up. Comfort in my arms
they will find. With the comfort they will gain understanding. At that point
they will not longer be my flock but my children. So is foretold, and so it
shall be.

The Journal: The Faith

Added Thu Nov 15 16:20:07 2007 at level 20:
My faith has served me well. It has shielded me when my body has faltered. It
has also been the catalyst to push the fragile frame I possess to achieve. I
find myself shepherding wolves with my lambs. It is my faith that allows me
to do so, and know that it is right. While they might fight amongst one
another, they are all under my care. Through my guidance they will find
harmony. My life is young still and my journey long. While I do not have all
the answers yet, they will be revealed to me. I embrace my destiny and will
carry it out for the love of my flock.

Woes of a Lost Prophet

Added Thu Nov 15 15:13:14 2007 at level 18:
Ghurken has found himself still to be learning much of the surface and the
others that dwell there. His quest led him blindly to the sunlight, but his
faith has been his crutch in the new land. He never expected to be embraced
by them, and that much has proven true.

Just as he was warned, Ghurken has been met with hatred and a lack of
understanding. The cross stares and violence are empowering. He realizes now
more then ever that the Sunborn are lost. With the truth to fuel his
conviction a new fire burns deep within, allowing his own shortcomings to
burn away.

The Journal: Destiny and Dreams II

Added Thu Nov 15 15:10:03 2007 at level 18:
The skull taunts me in victory and defeat. With each forward step the grip of
the claw falters. With each set back it clenches. The strength of my
conviction ebbs and wanes with the grasp of the claw. Perhaps when freedom is
known to the lands my flock, it too will be obtained by my dreams. Solice
will be theirs and my own.

"Love your flock Shepherd. Only through your love and struggle can they
thrive."

In their greatest time of need will they turn to me, and I will be there to
embrace them. I will defend them with my lifeforce and we will triumph. Such
is my fate, so it will be done.

The Journal: Destiny and Dreams

Added Mon Nov 12 18:50:51 2007 at level 16:
The image of the severed claw still lingers within my dreams. The skull still
whispers to me. Why I was chosen is unknown to me, but I know what must be
done. Just as those who came before me attempted the task, it is my time to
rise up. The words still ring true.

"War not for yourself but to aid those who not realize they need it."

It is not war out of hatred but war of love I wage. I am to be the face and
voice of the new age. I am to judge the worthy and purify those in need so
that all may find solice. So is the wish of the Skull, the only link to my
destiny.

The Journal: Self II

Added Mon Nov 12 18:45:26 2007 at level 16:
Since I have arrived upon the surface I have felt a greater sense of purpose.
All around me there are plague ridden fools. Most do not even realize they
ail. That matters little to me. The realization will be upon them soon
enough. Either they will realize or the weakening grip of their curse will
enlighten them. I will be whispered around every corner and known in each
city as a Savior. It is my calling, my fate.

The Journal: Self

Added Mon Nov 12 18:40:32 2007 at level 16:
Splinterstone. The name has not meant much to me since departing the depths.
The more I think of it, the more I feel the world should know it. What good
is a savior that is not fully known. Time will show my progress, and time
will reveal the next step in my quest. I understand that not all can be
saved, but there is always the hope that my work will finish. It is not for
myself that I hunt and cleanse, but for my flock. If they are to flourish the
tainted must be purified.

Deliverer of Freedom, Savior of Inner Struggle

Added Sat Nov 10 19:53:30 2007 at level 8:
Similiar to those who suffer from disease, Ghurken feels himself to be a
cleanser of sickness. Those who are slave of magics need to be cured, not
destroyed. Just as the blood must be loosed to aid the removal of sickness,
the spirit must be split to break the bonds of the magical hold.

Ghurken views himself as a savior, almost as the bringer of freedom. In his
eyes mages are slaves to the magic, sick from its essence. He feels that by
shattering the body that imprisons the soul, some of the sickness will leave
each opportunity it is presented. Eventually, all of the disease will be free
from the body leaving a pure being who is free of inner conflict.

Purity

Added Sat Nov 10 19:42:12 2007 at level 8:
Purity of the soul and purity of the body. Two things sought by many and
obtained by few. Through forsaking the use of magic, Ghurken will maintain
purity of the soul. He feels as if it steals the inner strength of a being,
slowly eating away at it until the soul dies. The soul, like the body, only
is able to bear so much abuse before it too gives way.

In order to gain purity of the body, war is to be Ghurken's profession. He
will spend his life in it hoping to eventually become a master of it. The
path will be long and painful, but he knows that it is his purpose. The
mastery of his craft would grant Ghurken purity of body.
