Description
Before you lies a human of six feet tall. His clothing is a bit loose upon
his body as if to hide his muscles that may or may not lurk below them.
His movements are fluid, and can be quite hard to discern what he is doing.
From the skin that you see it appears to be tan in color as if he isn't
to come out of the shadows, although he appears to lurk into them often so
glances of him are hard to get. His eyes are dark as the night, and the only
discernable mark is a scar in the back of his head, which he pretends does
not exist.
His age is beginning to show more than ever. He appears to have a slight limp
in his step, but he pretends as if nothign is wrong. There are quite a bit
of nicks and bruises throughout the visible parts of his skin.
Role
Beginnings
Added Tue Nov 6 20:57:50 2012 at level 22:
Giafersy was born into an elite merchant family in Galadon. He was encouraged
at an early age to learn the way of the mages and was forced into the elite
sorcery schools. However, Giafersy was unable to grasp the concepts being taught
as easily as the rest of his classmates. One day, an exam was administered to
all the students of the school, a simple task, "To create a fireball". Giafersey
had been taught this incantation and was quite confident he could execute it
at the given time, but was not one who used his magic unless needed. However,
his classmate who he shared a room in the school with, did not share these
same views, and decided that he would make the biggest and baddest fireball.
When exam day came, his roommate was the one who went first, and in doing so
ignited the whole school into flames and severely burning Giafersey in the process.
Giafersey realized from this day on, that only evil could become of the magic,
and from then on gave up trying to become a sorceror.
When Giafersy notified his parents that he would no longer be a mage, they
tried to enforce a "tough love" on him and kicked them out of their home, and
on to the streets. Giafersy did not undergo the traning to become a profitable
merchant like the rest of his family, so he had to find other ways to make money.
He then ran across a "well known and notorious thief" from Galadon, and watched
how he robbed the merchants of town right under their eyes. He also witnessed
an attack on one of his family's rival merchants which resulted in the man's death.
Giafersy quickly pocketed the money on the merchant's corpse and went off to
find a guildmaster that would teach him the ways of thievery.
Art Of War
Added Wed Nov 7 22:01:53 2012 at level 23:
Giafersy had run across quite a few warriors in his quests to live on his own. One
thing that he learned about War is that you must master the little things in order
to win a battle. Little things such as intimidation over your opponents and deception
of your enemies.
Therefore Giafersey has taken the habit of not crying out when struck like many do, and
as an additional intimidation tactic, has taken to collecting the ears off the corpse
of the mages he has killed. He strings the ears across his neck as an act of intimidation.
Giafersy has also in his travels learned of the Battle Ragers of Thera and their quests to
rid the world of magic. This happens to coincide with his own personal quest to do the same,
so he has begun to study them and try and become one as well.
Joining the Village
Added Sun Nov 25 00:10:24 2012 at level 26:
Giafersy has earned himself a hut amoung the Battle Ragers of Thera, after many interviews
with a variety of existing villagers. They all seem to be quite different, and some more focus
on the War against the Mages of the land and less so. Giafersy hopes to provide a sense
of courage and pride in the other villagers. He is not sure how many have noticed his necklace, but he knows the Commander
and Drillmaster will not relent in their demands of the number of mage skulls he collects.
Giafersy is quickly learning how to gather the heads that they demand, but has often found the
limiting factor to be that no mages dare wake the same time as him.
Giafersy intends to watch the elders of the village and attempt to learn from their actions.
Joining Blackclaw
Added Mon Nov 26 21:21:24 2012 at level 27:
After hearing rumors of how the Blackclaw guild was deteriorating, and the fact
Eraefh, who chastised Giafersy early on in his life, was head of the guild. Giafersy
has decided to join Blackclaw guild in hopes of gaining control of it.
Giafersy has also been entertaining the requests of the guildmaster there, and
is considering following the path of a trapper.
Leaving Blackclaw and Joining the Galadon Guild
Added Tue Dec 18 21:44:04 2012 at level 51:
It seems Meko was able to raise funds quicker than Giafersy and gained control of the Blackclaw guild.
Meko of course does not like Giafersy beliefs and knew a dagger would be in his back and appropriately blackballed
him from the guild. Giafersy then looked at the other guilds and decided on the Galadon guild for a few reasons.
First, he knew Rockeano would occupy himself with controlling the guild until he died, at that point Giafersy might step in
but Giafersy needs to concentrate more on his own craft then trying to hold a guild position that appears to be meaningless.
Giafersy has now dedicated himself to finding powerful traps. However, most of the traps that seem to contain real power
are magical in nature and Giafersy will not use such traps, and so far has only found far inferior ones to make use of.
New Battle Leadership
Added Tue Dec 18 21:46:27 2012 at level 51:
Giafersey is happy with the choice that the Lords have made in the Commander, and somewhat happy with the choice in
Drillmaster. Arratok seems to have a great presence which Giafersy likes, but sometimes does not plan out a good battle strategy.
However, Giafersy is happy that hte fire giant Kelnith was not chosen as he seems to rub others
the wrong way with his bullish attitude. Giafersey tends to ignore the giant when he starts spouting though so not as easily
annoyed
Recent Deaths in the Village and Kill order
Added Wed Dec 26 07:39:50 2012 at level 51:
Giafersy has become saddened by the warriors of the village that were to weak to fight the war and have taken
their own lives, most notably lately Kelnith and Jutley. This weakens the village obviously,
but in the long road, one does not need weak in will soldiers. However, part of the blame Giafersy puts on himself, as
maybe he could of presuaded them to have a stronger will if interacted more with them during a defeat.
Giafersy has also changed the way he interacts with Thera as far as who to kill first. Often he sees
his fellow villagers focusing on the warriors or priests of the land when there are mages about.
In particular this applies with the Fort, however Giafersy suspects the war with the Fort will be short lived as he expects
the mages that currently lead them will decay and not truely meant for war. So Giafersy will strike those of the fort that are not
mages last, despite the fact he could easily slay most of them.
Giafersy plans to keep trucking on, and provided a support role to both the Commander and Drillmaster in rallying troops,
helping younger ones thrive, and if need be stroking some egos of the fallen to keep them focused on the war.
GodFather
Added Wed Jan 16 23:38:25 2013 at level 51:
Having received a blackball from the Galadon guild, Giafersy decided it was now time to take control of his own thieves guild.
So he was able to make a deal with a lesser gnome thief that he befriended in the Galadon gold that in excahnge for teaching
it how to become rich, that it would give him the money to become Godfather of Voralia. So the deal was struck
and Giafersy took control of the Voralian guild. He intends to fortify the guild when he has free time from assaulting mages and
thickening the veil.
Leadership
Added Tue Feb 26 23:04:08 2013 at level 51:
Arratok has proven himself well in the Rites, and Giafersy is happy with the results of the Rites. However,
Giafersy is quite disappointed in the fact that Gredoor did not have the fortitude to stay in the war and elected to kill himself instead.
Giafersey has been appointed as a Veteran of the Village, and will now have to take a better role into making sure the
villagers morale does not get defeated. Therefore, every applicant that speaks to him will have to answer on how they handle their defeats. As many
boast of the victories, but few admit their defeats and what they should learn from them.
If Arratok wishes for Giafersy to serve as a Drillmaster, he will do so. If not he will begin to start implementing the
things to strengthen the village on his own, since it appears that the Commander has become too busy to do so.
Taking over for the Commander
Added Sat Mar 2 22:34:12 2013 at level 51:
Giafersy has been assigned the task of taking charge of the village while the commander is off looking into
things to better the village that the scouts have reported. Giafersy in the meantime, will be heading initiatives he has been hinting
for the Commander to do. In particular, researching the enemy and their ways so they can be easily defeated.
He hopes that this will at least keep the morale going and the chance of defeat less.
