Description

As you approach him you notice a short dark head of unkept hair. You watch as he waddles along swaying slightly from side to side when he walk. He appears to not have taken a bath in a long time for he smells quite bad. His long reddish beard is most desheleved and tattered. As you look closer you can see some food in the tangled hairs keep with the beard. If possible his nose is in even worse shape and is hooked, huge and has been broken several times. This 3 foot 6 inch dwarf shows many scars from what looks like many battles over the years. His most obvious scar is on the side of his neck. Its a scar that looks like it was caused by an axe.

Gilut and Haro grew up in the same dwarven village.  They completed at
everything.  Each all seeking victory. Whether it was sports, games, or girls
Gilut and Haro where always looking for the thrill of victory.
Their thrill of victory took a dramatic turnrol, when Bwynn entered the picture.
See to Gilut and Haro, Bwynn was the most beautiful and intelligent dwarf girl 
in the whole village.  She had taken a liking to both Gilut and Haro and both of 
them courted her for months.  Things came to a head one day at the annual Test
of Mithril contest.  This was a contest for dwarves to test their mithril and see who 
was the best young fighter in the land.  Both Gilut with his maces and Haro with his axes
entered the contest and quickly each won several victories, until only the two of them were left.
Now Gilut was the better fighter and knew he would win normally, but Haro had a trick up 
his sleeve that no one was supposed to know about.  See Haro was secretly a member of the 
Nexus, the keepers of balance, and one of his fellow members was in the audience at this 
contest. This member was a human transmuter magi that had bonded himself with Haro.  Haro 
knew he needed this magic to defeat Gilut, but Haro did care for he had no issues tainting 
himself. For Haro did not think of magic as tainted.  Gilut however had overheard Haros plan 
before the final Battle was to begin.  Gilut thought it would not matter as his pure ways would 
certainly lead him to victory.  Alas, Gilut was wrong and had underestimated the power of magic. 
Gilut lost the battle to Haro and Haro was named champion of the Test of Mithril.  Gilut did not 
take this loss well and after the contest had long ended, he confronted Haro.  Haro denied 
everything because he knew magic was forbidden in this contest.  Gilut, no way pasted drunk at 
this point, lashed out and attacked Haro right there on the spot.  Gilut beat Haro to within an inch
of his life.  Gilut only stopped when Bwynn noticed the fighting and said she had made her choice.
Bwynn could never love Gilut for attacking Haro for no reason. For Bwynn would never know the 
truth.  Since Gilut was disgraced in the village, he left one year from the day of the tourney.

Tir-Talath and History

Gilut left the village near Akan and headed down the mountain toward Vorilian.  When Gilut 
arrived at Vorilian he searched the city over for he knew fighting and his mace but had never 
been formally trained.  He sought all the non-magic using guilds looking for one to join.  At first he 
thought of becoming a thief, but no he was a clumsy loud dwarf.  Next he thought of being a 
bard, but once again those guilds did not accept dwarves and he was no singer anyway.  Soon he 
wandered into Erenthells warrior guild in Vorilian and he saw the racks of weapons on the wall 
and he knew instantly that he would be a warrior.  For warriors were brave courageous and were 
the first into battle.  Additionally, Gilut understood fighting and tactics .  That described Gilut 
perfectly.  The one problem was Erenthell.  Gilut did not like learning under an elf and all his self 
righteousness.  Gilut thanked Erenthell for his time and head off north and west to Tir-Talath.  
Soon after arriving in Tir-Talath, Gilut met the warrior guildmaster Derrick and he knew he was 
home.  Derrick was notself-righteous like an elf, but was brave and Gilut knew he could learn 
under him.  Additionally Derrick knew the history of Thera.  Derrick knew of the Knights of Thera 
for he was a member.  He also knew of the mighty battleragers and their hatred of magic.  Gilut 
learned of Bolthrower and Thrym and the history of how the battleragers were betrayed 
by the mages of order.  Once Gilt knew the history, Gilut knew what he would do.  He would join 
the battleragers and fight against the Nexus and all of magic.

Weapon Sepcializations

So after a long day of hunting the nexus and the magi, Gilut
returns to his guildmaster, Derrick, and finds he is due some extra
training. Derrick said he is learned enough to do advanced training 
as he had been brought up with them.  Ever since he was a child and
his father brought him home his first club to play with. This choice
felt natural and so Gilut soon learned and mastered all the mace
specializations.

Several years later when Gilut had already gotten his hut within the 
mighty battleragers, Derrick told Gilut he had earned his second
and last weapon specialization.  This choice seemed much harder.
For Gilut had practiced with most other weapon types, but none
seemed as natural maces.  Eventually he choose spear for two reasons.
The first is his father again and the training he received on hunting and killing
wild boar.  The spear was invaluable for those hunts and Gilut thought
he could find the same techniques useful in battle.  The second is a great
elf, Ieralaine.  For Gilut has watched and learned from this elder in Battle.
the grace and savageness for which the elf keeps his foes away from him 
are a sight to behold.  While Gilut will never be as graceful as an elf, Gilut
feels he could use the same techniques of keeping his foes at a distance to
his advantage.  Now if Gilut could only keep from hurting himself when he
tries and fails at impaling his foes.

Legacies

One day Gilut returned to Derrick for more training and to see
how Derrick thought his training was progressing.  Derrick tolds Gilut told of 
ancient monks that had traveled around Thera and taught guildmasters ancient 
secrets to very seasoned warriors.  Derrick told him he would get one
advanced training now and one a little while later.  Gilut discussed
each of them in detail with Derrick and they finally decide on the first one.
Gilut had natural dwarven restistance to fighting magi and felt he had sufficient
skill in this area, but he felt he lacked something when fighting his non-magi
enemies.  Therefore, he and Derrick decided that like a wave crashing down, Gilut 
would learn to strike through his opponents weapon, possibly even disarming them.

A year or so later, Gilut returned to Derrick and discovered it was time for his second
training in the ways of the ancient monks.  Gilut decided to his do two things with 
his second training.  The first thing was obviously to provide himself assistance
when fighting.  The second thing was to pay homage to the great battles that
both the villagers and the dwarven race have had.  Gilut decided to pay tribute
to the great siege of Uzberd in the year 934.  This great siege may have been lost to 
many, but Giluts father told him he heard whispers that dwarves sieged the orc den 
at Uzberd for 300 days.  The dwarf never even left for food, water, or anything.  They
continued to fight until victory was there.  For Gilut must be like the dwarves at Uzberd
and keep fighting and keep pressing on until victory is his.

Middle Age of Life

Now that Gilut was no longer young, he has been reflecting on life more.
He has had a hut within the Mighty BattleRagers of Thera for quick a few years.  
He was inducted several years ago by the drillmaster of Battle.  He made a 
promise to Brizlin that he would live out all his life or give his last breathe for 
the village.  Gilut had always intent this, but to promise it out loud made it official.
For when Gilut makes a promise he sticks to it.

Additionally, Gilut has lost some friends to death.  Prior to getting a hut, Gilut
did not have friends.  He only had enemies and a purpose that did not involve
others.  Gilut is currently struggling with these deaths.  For Kallagos took his own life,
as did Ieralaine.  Ieralaines ending of his own life has hit Gilut hard.  For Gilut looked
up to Ieralaine and for Ieralaine to end on it on his own before it was meant to be
over has been hard on Gilut.  The last friend Gilut has lost was Pishuk. For Pishuk 
taught Gilut a lot and Gilut learned there was more to the village then just smashing
skulls.  These deaths have all effected Gilut, but he must press on.

Lastly, Gilut has been reflecting on his spiritual life.  He was sought out Lord Akresius
to discuss victory, but the Lord has been busy.  For Gilut will keep trying but does not
expect the Lord to answer someone so insignificant as he.  Gilut seeks Lord Akresius 
because he believes that combat is beautiful and man must always strive for victory.
in combat.  For to achieve the ultimate victory, Gilut must win the one on one victories
that beautiful combat allows.   Gilut however has never controlled his rage. He will 
seek victory at all cost and seeks the Lords advice on this.  Gilut thinks that Lord Akresius 
may not see eye to eye with Gilut on this.  Gilut aims to find out as he is a Battlerager 
Berserker and his rage has aiding him in victory more than once.  The one additional 
thing he hopes to find out is where his arch-enemy Haro is.

New Task

Added Sun Jun 9 11:58:37 2013 at level 51:
Brizlin Puck, Drillmaster of battle, gave me a task today
Seems like an important task, as he treated it as such.
I must find a helmet or find out how a helmet can be made
at a forge somewhere in Thera.  This be a special helmet 
that will resist the songs of a bard. I will be
speaking with those of prominence within Thera that may
know something.  Brizlin indicates that Grime had some thoughts
on the subject early on, but has since been very quite.
The Drillmaster spent a got bit of life on this task
and so shall I if that is what is needed.

Victory, Aging, and Other Matters

Gilut has been learned and followed most of the teaching
of Lord Akresius.  One thing however, stands between Gilut
and being a true follower of Lord Akresius.  Gilut had a 
conversation with Lord Akresius and it was indicated that
should he seek to quell his rage, Lord Akresius would guide him.
Gilut has thought on this at length, but he has decided that his 
emotion and rage are as big a part of him as anything else.  It is to
much to give up, even for a Lord.  Gilut will still follow most
of the ways of Lord Akresius even though he will never be a 
true follower of the Sanguine Chalice.  Giluts life has been full 
of tough choices.

Additionally, Gilut is getting a bit older now and hopefully wiser.
Gilut has been following the quest given to him by his mentor
and former commander Brizlin Puck.  Gilut was sad to see
another friend go, but will try to complete the previously mentioned 
long standing quest to find a helm to prevent one from hearing a 
minstrils music.  Gilut will put the gold that has been handed 
down for generations to do so. Should he not complete this quest, 
he will pass it on.

Lastly, Gilut has seen many villagers come and go.  It is sad, but
Gilut gets use to it with time.  Gilut will press on till the end
should he be fortunate enough to age die or more than likely
die from no more constitution.  Should he go that way, he
wants to go on the fields of battle.  Hunting magi and seeking 
victory.
