Description
Before you is a small mountain of steaming orange blubber. Not just
ridiculously obese, this giant must have begun life as one of the largest of
his kind. He is easily a third again as tall as the average giant. His
shoulders and hips are equally wide. Such an enormous frame provides a
foundation to pack on what you assume must be the most body fat a Theran ever
carried.
Wave upon wave of blubber weaves itself on top of another wave of blubber
until it becomes impossible to tell where the blubber even attaches to the
giant. Somehow Girf has eaten himself to the point where he is as wide as he
is tall. And Girf is quite tall. He is so large that his armor doesn't cover
his flesh. It comically drapes over his fat and is held on by elongated
straps which themselves are lost in the depths of all the blubber. You wonder
what else could be hiding in those folds. Perhaps a horse, cart and
merchant's family?
Even his face is enormous. Flaming orange skin is stretched over cheeks the
size of small boulders. Beneath his massive, jiggling cheeks are at least a
dozen chins. There is so much fat on his face his features are distorted. His
eyes and nose seem too small for being surrounded by so much fat. His eyes
are dim, but full of a frightening hunger.

Role Summary for Quick/Easy Reference
Added Sun Nov 18 17:57:08 2018 at level 9:
- Born to parents that got tired of feeding him and enlisted him in the
Imperial army for a bag of silver.
- Hates the restrictions and rules in the army. Hates the food more. Kills
the cook and eats his head.
- Sphere Gluttony because after he kills the cook and goes awol he is finally
able to eat all the food he wants.
- Sees Gluttony as not just being about food, but consuming everything you
like in massive quantities.
- Outlander because, due to his massive size, he breaks things in
civilization. Also because he values freedom to consume and because food is
better fresh.
- Morius because he's the god of Gluttony. Girf is really into being a
"minister" preaching the good news of Gluttony!
- Catch phrase: "Girf! Eat!!"
Girf and the Military
Added Sun Nov 18 18:00:05 2018 at level 9:
Girf did not like his military training. He hated getting up early. He hated
marching. He hated having his bed inspected, his uniform inspected, his teeth
inspected, his hair inspected. And, more than anything, he HATED eating
"three squares a day."
Military food is terrible. An army values "cheap" and "preserved" over
"tasty." So not only is there never enough of it (especially when you're
Girf's size) the food is usually rotten, over salted and stale. Girf thought
the cooks of an army might be responsible for more deaths than the front line
soldiers.
It did not help that Girf's wit was dim at best. It made him an easy target
for the other soldiers who often swindled him out of his rations. Girf would
fume with rage, but there were rules (another thing he hated) that said he
could not kill and eat his fellow soldiers. This was especially annoying to
Girf who was both enraged and very hungry.
Girf's Ma and Pa had received a bag of silver for enlisting their enormous
son in Imperial basic training. They were more than glad to be rid of Girf
and the piles of feed they were forced to buy him. Of course, fire giants
being fire giants, they didn't care at all for what Girf wanted.
So, one day, a very hungry Girf finally lost his shit.
"GIRF! EEAAT!!" he bellowed at the cook across from him the chow line.
The cook jumped and dropped his ladle into the thin soup he was dishing into
Girf's metal bowl. Girf looked at his bowl, which he already thought too
small, and saw an unfairly small portion within.
He glared at the cook menacingly. "GIRF! EAT!"
"H-h-hey big fella, just calm down now! It's half rations for all. Ain't my
decision!" the cook said.
"GIRF! EAAT!!" Girf argued back.
"Now c-c-c'mon," the cook stammered, "fair's fair and rations are rations!"
"GIRF! EAAAAAAT!!!" Girf concluded.
With that he grabbed the back of the cook's neck, slammed his head twice into
the table, dipped it in the soup, and ate it in a single bite. He dropped the
headless corpse to the ground even as its neck hole sprayed blood. Girf
looked around to see if there was another fight to be had...and another meal.
Thus ended Girf's time in the military.

Gluttonous Girf, Morius and the Outlanders
Added Sun Nov 18 18:04:34 2018 at level 9:
After eating the head off the cook in front of his whole platoon, Girf did
not wait around to see what would happen. He wasn't sure where he was going,
but he sure knew where he wasn't staying. And, he knew he would never put
himself somewhere where someone told him when he could and could not eat.
He spent the first few months of his newfound freedom inadvertently
terrorizing the countryside in an epic quest to stuff his face. He stole pies
out of windows, ate livestock whole, stormed into houses and ate the entire
contents (often including the residents) and, in general, gorged himself into
his current state of obesity. These were good times.
Though finally free to eat whatever and whenever he wished, Girf did discover
other challenges. For one thing, doorways were now too small for him to
squeeze through without a lot of effort. He usually broke them trying.
Likewise, furniture smashed to bits beneath his bulk. Mugs bent when he
grabbed them and he tended to consume dishes with the meal. His weight was so
great that his feet burst through floorboards. It seemed whatever he touched
broke. Girf was becoming impossibly large for civilized life.
That was the first inclination a life in in the wilds of Thera might be for
him. When he learned of the Outlanders of Thar-Eris he knew immediately the
Refuge would be his home. There were two primary reasons:
1. The food is better. Girf prefers fresh meat to all other things. The more
raw and bloody, the better. The more food is cooked and preserved, the less
Girf likes it. (Remember, he didn't like the preserved rations in the army.)
Being able to harvest fresh meat from any woodland is a great boon to the
Being able to harvest fresh meat from any woodland is a great boon to the
always-hungry Girf.
2. Freedom. To Girf being a supplicant of Gluttony is about more than just
eating. It's about being free to consume whatever makes you happy in
unrestricted portions. Girf hated the regimented life of a soldier. He
relishes the Freedom found in Thar-Eris.
Girf figures if he can bring about the Rise of Thar-Eris that will mean more
Freedom and more Food. He is dedicated to being an excellent Reaver in all
aspects.
If Girf was happy to hear of the Outlanders, he was positively elated to hear
of Morius and the Priesthood of Gluttony. In fact, such was his delight that
a minor earthquake was reported in Galadon as he skipped his way down the
path to Morius' church for the first time.
Just as he consumes so is he consumed by being a Priest of Gluttony. He
fancies himself something of an evangelical. He believes that Glutton saves
and preaches its good news to any who will hear.
