Description
Clean cut and neat in appearance, almost to the point of immaculate. His
clothing is gray and appears to have been expertly tailored with soft
leather. His weapons are a dull black but neat and clean of any blood or
signs of violence. His face is narrow and his lips are thin. His teeth are
brilliantly white and straight. His eyes are a pleasant shade of blue and
make him appear inquisitive. He does not keep a beard or mustache, his skin
is pale and flawless. His hair is black and meticulously groomed into a
pony-tail tied with a string, the sides of his head have been cleanly shaven.
He is tall, about six foot three, and he appear limber and nearly overly
thin. His actions in his movements are deliberate, and it appears that he
does not waste time with fidgeting or needless pacing.

Little is known about the cause of the demons that plague Arkham on a nightly
basis, but much is known of the fear and disorder they sew. Such memories are
the earliest ones Gituku can remember. To this day he remembers the two
primary qualities his parents tried to instill in him from an early age.
Order, Protect. They were both partners of the Arkham Guard, but the only
importance they have to Gituku's history is their early deaths leading to his
being given over to the Arkham rectory and eventual promotion as an altar boy
of the Cathedral.
Gituku was a changed creature after the death of his parents. Given over to
bitterness and hatred of himself and others. The dark and wild magics that
caused the demons to plague the city could only be vanquished with holy
prayer and battle. Gituku escaped his quarters on several occasions just to
walk the streets at night in hopes of finding a demon, his anger driving him
past the limits of reason and fear felt by others. Gituku was very obsessed
with the forms of his duties, how many paces to the altar, just how high to
carry the symbols of faith, how far to swing the sconce of smoke and ash to
ward off ill humors...when the forms were not obeyed he would grow livid.
This led to his eventual banishment from the Cathedral of Arkham. Surely he
would have killed the other boy if the priest had not walked into their
quarters at that particular time with prayers of healing. The boy lost vision
in one eye and the teeth on the left side of his mouth, suffering a shattered
jaw that was a long time healing.
After Gituku heard mention of a transfer to a long lost Island of the Kara
Chal where Lord Selric was paid homage too in hopes of changing his violent
and wicked nature Gituku quietly slipped into the night. The Priests did not
search overly hard for him.
He made his way to Hamsah as a stowaway on board a merchant vessel. There he
lived as an urchin, refusing to beg or steal and nearly starving to death
several times. Fate would have him enter into the Assassins Guild after his
explosive violence was noted by the Sultans Guard. Upon interviewing him and
finding he had no remorse for his actions and was merely defending himself
from a prowler the guards called in a few favors. Gituku would be an
assassin.

After joining the guild it was natural that Gituku follow his path and
tendencies to the Blood Tribunal. Some would ask why he did not join the
Empire if he sought to promote order but Gituku does not seek to dominate,
but to enforce. He believes that laws are sacred things to be protected and
enforced for the betterment of society and life. He believes that those who
house chaos within their hearts are the enemy, even though who only hold a
little. Gituku one day hopes to attain the title of Vindicator of the Blood
Tribunal, but understand such a position is sacred and rare and will require
a lifetime of dedication to achieve.
Gituku is very prone to violence and anger if he feels an individual is
acting as an agent of chaos or against Order.
Gituku will likely find himself worshiping at the shrine of Destuvius, and
has began to read the philosophies of that religion and approved, but will
not approach the Lord with empty hands and wishes to prove himself through
notable action first.
Note to Destuvius

Lord Destuvius,
I wish to first extend my gratitude for blessing my eyes with the vision and
clarity each time I visit your altar and drink from the font. Allowing me to
see the enemy for what they are and delve into their very souls has greatly
increased my effectiveness at our mutual cause.
I do not presume to speak for you, but I do presume to lay worship upon the
holy and Grand Design. It did not take long for me to realize that my place
in the Design is that of the knife of Order. From a young age I knew the
profanities of the false gods and their heathen belief structures were not my
place. I did learn to appreciate the necessity of structure and forms of
worship, and it helped shape my mind and spirit to the Order craving and
enforcing shape it holds today. While no longer obsessed with proper kneeling
measurements, prostration depth, or speed of gait during service, I have
grown to accept that my own worship in the design is bigger and does not
require extensive amount of time spent prostrated in front of your altar.
To that effect I visit frequently and say a silent prayer of gratitude and
have been on my way after to hunt down chaos and bring Order. I understand
you have an inclination for the Empire and Imperial Domination pleases you
more than Tribunal routine observation and protection, yet I am of the
opinion that both the Spire and the Empire are two branches of the same tree,
each with its own purpose. I seek to become the Vindicator of the Spire to
better please both yourself and because it is my place in the Grand Design. I
know the road is long but I am patient. To that end I am also attempting to
master my craft of assassination.
I am aware that observing me is perhaps not the most exciting thing at this
point, but I know that as I grow in skill so to will I grow in your favor as
my effectiveness at maintaining and enforcing Order increases.
So I write you this missive to simply state my intentions as I have not been
able to speak with you in person at this time.
Yours in the Design,
Gituku Darkbloom
A Change of Plans

Over the last several years of his life Gituku has devoted himself solely to
ending the lives of the chaotic and working on his craft of assassination.
Gituku is not stupid, and is fact quite cunning. He can read between the
lines on the politics of the current situation of the Spire and realize he is
being left behind from his goals.
An example of this was when the recently promoted Provost of the Spire Asriel
informed Gituku he should not be assassinating anyone near a city, and cited
the Mausoleum as off limits for hunting. Now, Gituku absolutely knows the
rules and policies of the Spire do not conflict with hunting in the
Mausoleum, yet the Provost ordered it so it will be followed. Gituku's main
takeaway from this is that he needs to keep his head down and not communicate
overly with the Provost.
Gituku sent a missive a while ago asking for his peers to consider not
traveling with chaotic individuals. This missive was not well received, and
it irked Gituku that this was the case. The general response was 'You are a
bored killer and you are making life difficult for the rest of us.' Gituku
got that response from three separate Magistrates. Once again, he noted that
the fact that he was successfully killing was agitating his peers and they
felt he should be growing in the guild. Gituku was not worried about their
opinions at first and felt he had done his duty to his Lord and faith in the
attempt, yet when it came time for promotions to be levied out the Provost
promoted Arundel over Gituku for Provincial. Now Gituku knows that the
Provost caught Arundel red handed in a lie to discredit Gituku and promoted
him anyway. So the Provost knowingly promoted one who is dishonest over
Gituku.
Gituku feels that even if he masters assassination if he later becomes
Vindicator and assassinates the chaotic, non-criminals, of the world, he will
quickly be removed of the duties of the Vindicator for political reasons. As
such it would be foolish to waste half of his entire life in the mastery of
the art form, regardless of how useful it might be.
TO THAT END:
Gituku will attempt to rise in the ranks of the guild and the Spire in hopes
of achieving the position of Vindicator. Gituku will continue to seek out
contact with Destuvius in an effort to validate his faith in the religion
while continuing to hunt and destroy chaos. Gituku will keep his head down
and serve the Spire dutifully to better serve Order and Destuvius without
rocking the boat. However should Gituku ever become Provost of the Spire, he
will revisit all of his earlier ideas. Now is simply not the time and he is
in no position to further his previous goals. Thus we adapt.
