Description
Titanic, deep blue colored legs carry this massive storm giant. A top his
large head, celadon green hair flows gracefully along with the curves of
his head and shoulders. There is an air of quiet dedication in his beryl
eyes as he moves about. A celadon beard grows off of his massive chin
that is formed into a tight braid flowing half way down his breastplate.
He carries no weapons to defend himself at all. His armors gleam as
though they are well taken care of, but they do not seem expensive or
glorified. His massive arms ripple with muscle and his titanic fists seem
to be well versed in combat.

Backstory

Many years before Graekogar traveled to the academy, he made a different trip. From his home under the waves, Graekogar's village was one of the strictest purity and faith. Many hours were spent in paying homage to the various lords
and ladies of the light. Graekogar was no exception to this style of living. From a young age he was steeped in many facets of religion. Through sparring, praying, and reflecting upon life.
Through teaching, listening and learning, many things are revealed to each giant. To Graekogar, his teachings of purity struck a deep cord within him. After his breakthrough, Graekogar was ushered to the temple of Baerinika to
continue his studies. The teachings of Baerinika came hard to Graekogar only because he did not see himself as a good fighter, but the purity of faith drove him to try and learn as best he could.
Life went okay for Graekogar, but things did not stay that way. As the giants of his village come near adulthood, they begin to travel and spread word of their chosen patrons. Graekogar traveled with several of the elders of his
temple toward another village to the east of his own. They traveled this way because their patron's shrine lay close to the village, and felt more in tune when they got closer. As they rested one night, they were assaulted by a war
band of Kou-toa. Many fought and died in this skirmish, being caught unaware did not go well for Graekogar's elders. One grabbed Graekogar and told him to travel away. Go to the great academy of the lands and learn to bring
purity through combat like the teachings of his patron. Graekogar, trusting his elder and his purity of actions made his way to this academy to do the work of his elders as best he could.
Entry 2: the early years

In the first few years after leaving the academy, Graekogar was quite busy. The world was new to him. He had been out of the ocean before, but not far from the shores of the crystal Island and the continent of Modan. The elders of his
village took him on trips to the village of Lallenyha and other smaller villages to teach of Lady Baerinika and the light.
Firstly, Graekogar acted on the wise words of his elder and made the pilgrimage to Lady Baerinika's shrine in the ruins. They spoke awhile about Graekogar's intent and she offered him a task. He was to think upon himself and
formulate three rules to live and act by. These rules are to be created with purity in mind.
Then, when Graekogar began to walk in the world, he was appalled to find that it was not as pure as he had once thought. Sin and taint filled every nook and cranny of the lands and for the first time, he felt that the light paled in
the lands. He could not let this happen. While passing through Galadon, he happened upon a tattered flyer attached to the side of the Paladin's guildhall. It spoke of a place where those with a pure heart mustered their
forces against those of wicked intent. He had heard their name before, yet this flyer aided him one step further by offering directions to their gates.
With a goal in mind he made his way to the gates of the Fortress of the Light. When he arrived there they informed him that he needed to bring low at least on with a tainted heart. This task concerned Graekogar because of his less
than adequate abilities sparring with others in his past.
Graekogar hunted for several weeks for one with a taint. High and low, everywhere that his maps covered he searched. Finally, he found a ranger resting in the mountains near Udgaard. Graekogar offered a quick prayer for
courage and charged into battle. Dodging and weaving, he evaded the blows of the ranger and called pillars of fire upon it while striking out with his fists. The light burned brightly within him during that short time of combat
and when the corpse thudded the ground, he knew he had won.
Panting, he smiled. He had purified a soul. He had done it, not with help, but alone. He quite possibly saved the lives of several innocent souls in his action. He thanked his lady and traveled back out of the mountains toward the
fortress so he could join the brigade and bring purity to the wicked in the name of the light.

In the years that followed, Graekogar met many from the battered brigade of the fortress. All of them were kind and offered aid to him at every turn. He politely declined most of it, but did allow a few to give him a hand with
getting settled in.
After his bunk was sorted out and his things prepared, he traveled out in the name of the light and the brigade. Risgran, another squire, offered much knowledge to Graekogar in these times. Risgran taught him of potions of note
and tactics to use against the wicked. Graekogar was glad to have such a mentor to aid him. Graekogar was glad to have found the fortress and is proud to work on himself with such great mentors to teach him.

When Graekogar made his first trip to Lady Baerinika's temple, he was worried about the conversation that would come. He did not want his lady to disapprove. After the conversation a wave of relief, and confusion clouded his
mind. He was tasked to create three rules to govern himself by.
These rules caused much confusion for him. Lady Baerinika said specifically that they needed to differ from the code of the paladins and the creed of the maran. So, Graekogar decided to ask those of the fortress to guide his thoughts.
On a particularly cold evening, Graekogar asked the Marshall Yuolud to speak with him and to teach what he knew of the Lady, and her religion. This conversation specifically was an eye opener for Graekogar. The marshall told
him that he must find his purpose in life, to define it and the rules would naturally fall into place.
Graekogar was dumb founded. He thought his path was clear, but it was not so. So he decided to work on narrowing his ideals more. He would focus on harboring and projecting the light in his actions. He would focus upon
becoming a true, pure beacon of the light in every facet of life.

After his second conversation with Lady Baerinika, Graekogar was left again in a state of confusion, though less than before. After giving his tree rules to his Lady, they spoke some.
She first asked Graekogar how he was expecting to keep himself from envying or coveting others around him. This was something he had spoke with the cardinal about, but neither had created a solid answer. After some time pondering,
and researching, he came across Tolgrumm's teachings at the Altar of Lady Baerinika. His teaching of temperance is what struck a great cord to Graekogar. It spoke of practicing temperance to control your emotions. This is
what Graekogar was looking for; a definition to the thoughts he was having. As long as he focused on practicing temperance within himself at all times, he could achieve control over envy.
The second topic they spoke about was the offering of redemption to any of the wicked that he slays or slays him. This, Lady Baerinika and Graekogar differed upon. She explained to him that she felt there is no way for one to
offer redemption for the wicked. The past transgressions cannot be forgiven by just word, and also if hesitation arises when it is time to strike, innocent people may die. This struck an odd cord within Graekogar. After much
debate within himself and some fresh words from Risgran the maran, and The Cardinal, Graekogar's thoughts changed. He realized that even though he wants to offer redemption to any willing to receive it, he cannot hesitate in
his actions. His mind must be pure and intent to defend the light.
**** Entry 6: Studies of Purity ****

In many of his travels, Graekogar comes across the teachings of monks from all over Thera. He hears of several ways they reach purity and complete calm, but the teachings of meditation gave considerable interest to him. In these
words, the monks describe how they reach inner calm, purity of action and soul, and temperance of their emotions by resting in a kneeling position and focusing within themselves.
In learning these techniques from the scriptures, Graekogar found a new way to focus himself, and in turn he could do his duty with more dedication and greater focus on his faith. Now, not only did he feel Lady Baerinika's power,
but truly felt as if the Lady Jaguar prowled beside him as he moved about the lands.

In the years to follow Graekogar's travels, he practiced his meditations whenever possible. As he did this, he realized that he felt calmer, and more focused on his duties. He did not worry so much about anything and he fought
with more conviction and dedication to the light. His focus on the light was intent and strong once his inner peace was achieved.
Many a time Graekogar found himself fighting with the wicked Shaman Gawlar. A scion, this Shaman was the pinnacle of everything Graekogar stood against. He felt that he must combat it any chance he got. After a few tries,
Graekogar came to the realization that Gawlar out matched him, but this did not turn him away, Graekogar had faith in himself that one day the tides would turn.
In those years, Graekogar felt Lady Baerinika's sight upon him and one day she spoke. She asked if he was prepared to become a Maran within the brigade. Honor rose up in Graekogar's heart. He had not been the best fighter,
nor the most filled with knowledge, but he would do his best to live up to the title of Maran.

For the first several years of Graekogar being a maran, several things pushed his faith. The loss of Faenral, Deaer's possession, and the brink of war with the harbingers of the tree folk. Many of these things brought more meditations
and more focus on purity and duty. The most disturbing of these, after Deaer ascended, was the war with the hirbingers. This upset Graekogar immensely because they were not tainted. He struggled between the thoughts of fighting
them out right, which he did not want to do even though it seemed the marshall did, and avoiding them whenever possible. He decided to speak with Lady Baerinika for guidance on these recent skirmishes.
