Description

Gnarled skin like that of an ancient oak tree gives way to one blue eye and one green eye on the face of this man. Leathery and tough, his skin seems to have worn years of constant sun and wind. You would almost mistake him for a human if his ears weren't slightly pointed. He might stand at six feet tall if time hadn't crooked his back slightly, giving him the stoop of an old man. His hair is mostly white and reflects the light and hangs loosely around his shoulders. His clothes are torn and frayed from thorns and brambles grabbing hold and grass stains cover his knees. Other than the herbs and spices hanging from thin hemp cords strung around his neck, he wears no jewelry or bears any signifying marks.

Time For a Little Selfishness

Maybe I've been doing this all wrong. Here lately I've been stuck in this
mode to think constantly of others. Maybe it's the weight of leadership
making me think like that. But I realize while that's what I may say, it's
not at all how I act. It's really about me and what I want to do. I don't
really care if other people live a happy full life. If they don't, it's not
my concern. I may feel bad for them, I may say that's what they get, and in
spite I may say too bad this death is the last one for them. But from here on
out I'm going to do what I want and think and worry less and less about what
I think others think I should be thinking. And in the process maybe I can
figure out what this Remniscence thing is. Maybe someone will throw me a bone?

Self Doubt

They have named me Meter, and that is strange to me. When I was younger, I
was unsure of my ability as a druid. I spent more time running from battle
than actually fighting. I felt this uneasiness in my stomach until finally I
became comfortable. Now I spend almost all my time chasing my foes, with a
few exceptions. I guess I'm stronger than I realized and those around me
could see it clearly. Now that feeling has returned but I expect it to go
away once I become comfortable with what I'm doing. I hope my desire to
destroy the Undead and those that create them does not interfere, but if it
does, so be it. They are the toughest foes I've ever faced, the biggest
cowards, but confident in their ability. I must find better ways to face them
that denies them the use of their cowardice as a weapon.

And The Spirit Is Born

Life is strange with the changes it brings to us. When I was younger, all I
wanted was to see the end of the world and the death of everything. Now all I
wish to see is everything live a full and eventful life so that it can face
its death with pride and the strength it needs to survive Death. I'm not sure
when the change happened, but it became clear to me one day after the many
times I came close to death but neatly avoided it by lashing out with all my
might with this deadly focus that comes only when death is eminent. Truly
this focus is power and it can only be the Spirit seeking to survive,
unleashing all that it has learned in a final flash of righteous beauty.
Death truly is a wonderful thing.

Is All This Death Really Necessary?

It's an interesting thought to think about killing people. What's
the use? If they are just going to die later doesn't that make a
killer just a waste of energy? I think the real answer lies in that
it is all the killers of the world that make death inevitable. I was
asked to think on mercy and morality. I'm not sure about morality.
That seems to be a double standard that some people use to justify
their killing. It's okay to kill people with a red aura but not okay
to kill people with a golden aura? I don't discriminate on the basis
of color, but on the basis of time. The balance must be maintained.

Mercy isn't my strong suit. I find that once I start work on killing
someone I do my absolute best to follow through. I can't seem to
think of a good reason to change that. Perhaps mercy is better left
decided before the bloodlust of the hunt begins when thoughts are
clear. Still, Death is the only true mercy. So while some would see
it as the absence of mercy, death is the final release.

I've come to believe that neither magic nor nature can be separate from each
other for they are one in the same. Like night and day, different sides of
the whole, yet unlike night and day in that they don't oppose each other.
There is a proper cycle, however, and even though it can be done, certain
uses of magic should not be done, specifically necromancy. But Conjurers
aren't my enemies either. Though I could live without the elementals running
around, the angels and demons face death the same as everyone else. I've also
decided that Minotaurs aren't all that bad. They are no different than some
of the more savage species in the world that require some other species to
reproduce. They are somewhat like butterflies, though without wings and ugly
no matter how to look at them.

A Little Background

They called me weird when I was young, they skirted away from me when I came
close, the other kids did. But it didn't bother me. Everyone dies the same.
But maybe that's why I spent all my time in the wilderness. Life in the city
on the plains was like every other, until a fire destroyed our home and with
it my other siblings and both my elf mother and human father. That's probably
the other reason I spent my time away from the city. I sat on the plains and
watched the battles from afar, the battles in the mountains. They came fairly
regularly. Dwarves and elves and humans cloaked in greys and whites would
fight fiercely against people dressed in imperial armors and against magi
cloaked in shadows. I watched a particularly fierce battle when the numbers
got low, it was down to a dwarf and a dark elf. The dark elf struck fast and
sliced a deep gash into the dwarf's neck and the dwarf caved the dark elf's
skull in with a mighty blow from his mace. He turned and took three steps
towards the fortress they were defending and fell dead. Suddenly there was
peace. All was quiet and I realized that only when death comes to everything
will there be any peace. I skirted off to the druids guild following a
suggestion of one that passed my way. Perhaps I would find guidance one day.
Till then, it's my mace skills that need work.

Sphere Death

Death comes to us all, and eventually to the world and the gods, and the
forces, the light, the darkness, and the shadow between. Life has been given
to all, spirits in the rocks and trees, sentience given to things without and
Life and birth and new grown abound everywhere. But creation is done, there
is nothing new coming for the creators have left. Some would argue that after
creation begins dying and the start of Death, but this is not true. Growth
must first occur after creation before Death can begin. One does not ever
enter a stage of dying, you are either alive or you are dead, and right now
the world is very much alive and there are those who would intend to keep it
that way. Most people in the world, who take a greater role in the forces of
the realms, try to keep these forces alive for what ever reason. Usually so
their own ideals can be spread across the world. They seek to end any force
that diametrically opposes them, or even slightly opposes them, so that their
way of life can endure. I am not one of those. Death must come to all for
this is the way of life. Death must come to each and every force, but a the
same time. If one should die before the other, then the risk of something I
call a Perpetuim would form, and this blasphemy cannot be allowed. Nothing is
eternal. A balanced death for everything is required so that when the time
comes for the world to exhale its final breath, all can end and rest in the
peace of Oblivion.
