Description

A 5ft tall rotunde looking demi-human with a hugely hairy face. You dont have to be too bright to realise that he is a dwarf. His bulbous red nose pokes out from the dark brown facial hair and two clumps of hair, presumably eyebrows, seem to scurry about above his nose as he talks. His armours are thick and look like they are very heavy but they seem to effect him little. A smell of hot metal and earth seems to linger around his short stoutness and it feels sharp and tingles in the nostrils.

Added Mon Mar 10 08:23:09 2003 at level 51:
Many years have passed and many more battle has Grogim fought in and none
more often that Straklaw, Thornarcrull and others and it was this constant
stand against such overwhelming odds that brough out great anger and greater
suspicion in Grogim. He knew that all who travelled with them were a danger
and he knew that they would never fight with courage or Honour enough to
warrant any respect as a foe. It was this suspicion that almost brought about
his fall from the village. A great fight ensued and along with Keovraib and
Rugokar, he fought back hard against the horde. Forcing them to engage
at sixes and sevens instead of the one large unit they normally charge in. The
villagers got the upperhand and knew that Rugokar has been also attacked in
the village by Jhalstruvv. Previous to the battle they knew from the warders
that Jhalstruvv ran with them and he was present at every falling of the horde.
Stepping from the shadows, gathering their things so to perpetuate their being.
Assumption in hand the three villagers ended Jhalstruvv aftir finishing the last
of the horde and found themselves without a hut or a home.
Grogim was enraged and marched to the giant to see if he could clear up this
harsh and embarrassing treatment.
The Lords Kastellyn and Thror did appear to them and began to explain and
Grogim in his own inimitable fieriness agreed to disagree. In his anger he
threw down all that he had worked for that day after being called greedy by
Lord Hammersong, a comment that cut Grogim to the core for he has never
been motivated by greed nor clothing and gets up and reclothed himself far
more often than he has eaten it often seems. He turned away from the village
and was ready to join his family in the afterlife, sullied by His Lords words
and embarrassed and angry at the dismissal in front of those who would wish
the village burned down.
He was all but dead when Lord Kastellyn spoke to him and offered him the
chance again in the village. Recalling the many days and years Grogim had
fought without flaw and knew that he would not let assuming cause him
dishonour in the future. He requested Grogim's thoughts on the plaque that
guides the village and Grogim accepted and gave his thoughts.
Due to the great anger welling up inside Grogim he now uses it to fight the
mages as a berserker instead of the controlled and measured ways he used
to use in the style of the scout.

After being told by the Lords that he was not welcome as a berserker
Grogim decides to walk no specific path in the village as lacks the
youthfulness required to become a proficient scout once more and he
had used all his last available resources to quicken his learning as
a berserker. His tired old, wasting frame will carry him as far as he
can as a bare villager.

Grogim thought longer upon his martyr choice and deemed it not for him
even though he would not be as good as he was he would still be of more use
to the village as a scout. Its the village that counts for him.

Previous role

Added Wed Oct 2 08:02:57 2002 at level 24:
Grogim is from a clan of dwarves, with a huge and well-documented lineage.
They were renown for working the toughest of mines and hardest of metals.
Due to their work they have become famed for their stoutness and few clans
can even come close to how they recover from injury or indeed how much
damage can be inflicted on them before they are bested. They are a fierce lot
and keep all their secrets very safe in the forge masters safe. Its what they are
famous for and they guard it with vim, vigour and if required, their life.
Grogim being the master smith's son had the responsibility for it the month the
mountain home was ransacked.
One month hence, Grogim had been spending time with a young human
scholar who was interested in the history of the Urk-Ga-Kanock, the name of
his Clan, and Grogim was to show him around.
The scholar got to see what was necessary but when he asked about the safe
chamber, well, Grogim ushered him away and would evade his questions on
the subject. The scholar left, betwixed and befuddled about Grogim's actions
but had learned much and would report back to his Master. His master was a
very powerful magician and he sought the eternal life so further his studies
and he has come across an ancient Tome that told him of a ritual that would do
just that and it involved the secrets held in the safe chamber deep down in the
very heart of Grogim's city, Valkotan.
An assault was planned and the magicians came into the city in the evening of
BonGalesh, the great party thrown in memory of the city founder,
Baluk BonGalesh. The dwarves were drunk and mostly asleep when the fire
rained down from the heavens and the slaughter of his kin was horrific. He
and his father fought there way clear and dashed down to the safe chamber
to get the secrets in their case and take them to safety. As they were leaving
the young scholar and his master burst through the door in amidst a shower of
of sparks and flame. 'Hand me the Box' the voice seemed to be inside his
skull. He and his father hefted up their axes and charged, knocking them aside
but not without sustaining injury themselves. As they dashed out of the
Graolu gates they could hear the screams of their kin but he headed onwards
and skywards. The mages were in hot pursuit and you could hear the woosh
of them behind them as they flew around behind them. His father was gravely
injured and they could not run for long but they came to the vein of Hok'Tera
the extremely hard stone that only they could mine and work on. His father,
blood pouring from him, grabbed his axe and with his last ounce of strength
prayed to the HammerSong of the Havens, and struck the box, forcing it and
its contents into the rock, to safety. His father then passed away and Grogim
made for the hills to avoid the pursuing mages. Only he knew its location and
he knew the mages would hunt him down for eternity to find out but that was
only going to make him stronger. He would fight back at them any way he
could, for his people, his family and the secrets of the great Clan Urk-Ga-
Kanock.

Added Sun Nov 10 09:15:31 2002 at level 51:
After praying many times at the Noldarian forge for the attention of the Lord
Hammersong. Grogim's prayers were answered and he spoke to the Temperor
of souls about his ambitions and his dream of ridding Thera of magic, for good
of leading the greatest fighters in Thera from the village into victory and glory.
He took on the role as a smith concentrating on that of the hammer that pounds
and shapes those who stand in the way of his achieving his goals, to leave
better for it. The Commander Bryvac has ascended, as Grogim wishes to, into
the heavens and so the Rites will be coming and Grogim is ready to make his
stand for Command to fulfil his quest to becoming a fully fledged Noldarian
smith.

After leading the village to a position of strength Grogim turns his attentions back
to the training of his body and soul in order to be strong enough to accept the great
methods of training that could be shown to him by the Thane's Sappers. Thus far in
Grogim's life he has had many close companions in the village. Those that made him
laugh and those whom he admired. Guenrayn, his General, was one of the latter and his
tenacity and ability and skills as one sapper trained have helped him to focus on this.

Added Mon Feb 24 04:45:39 2003 at level 51:
Grogim steps down as village commander after seeing that many of the villagers needed
to have a commander that is seen at all times rather than just at certain regular times
He has been declared an Honored Blade of Battle which pleases him greatly but he still
Longs to be recognised by the Noldarians and be trained as a Sapper so that he may go
out and enspire the younger villagers to greatness and show them the rewards of courage
honor and strength in the Greatest war ever to be waged on Theran soil.
He is dismayed by the reports of the actions of many of the young villagers and hopes
to show an example that they asspire to, rather than see and ignore when they lust
for the revenge on those that did do them in so dishonorably.
