Description
The sinewy form of a woodland creature appears to dance
before you, each muscle of his taut figure twitching as it
prepares to pounce.
His hands appear bare and his garb is nothing a serious
adventurer would covet. His wild, auburn hair is cropped
several inches from his scalp, enabling his menacing gaze
and ebony eyes to scan the horizon unhindered.
Role
The Bastard Child

"He that finds the Earth," Hallathos, was the name given to
him by the Jade elves that found him many moons ago; his
dirty and disheveled form curled up alongside the rocks of
an altar deep within the midst of the mountains.
At first glance he appeared to be just another casualty of
Seantryn Modan, a wood-elf slave born into captivity then
tossed out into the wild; the remedy preferred by the
slavers. Upon further inspection, however, one noticed his
ears were much more prominent, like those of a high-elf.
Realizing what this was, a bastard child formed by the
union of a wood-elf and a high-elf, the Jade elves whisked
him away to safety in the village of Lallenyha.
Since they could only speculate at the events leading up to
and surrounding the child's conception and abandonment,
they kept their guesses to themselves...
An Anger Rising
Added Wed Feb 17 19:32:43 2010 at level 28:
Time, unfortunately, does not mend all wounds. In the case
of Hallathos, it only made things worse.
His anger began to manifest itself in many ways. He was
hurt that the Jade elves were keeping his history from him.
In his mind surely they knew where it was he came from and
what sort of creature he was. He resented the way the
other elves treated him, not that they were mean or
insincere, but it was as if they were afraid of him like
one fears the carrier of the plague. Perhaps it was just
being cooped up in the village that was getting to him, so
he set off for the distant reaches of Thera, to see if he
could make sense of it all.
Unfortunately, his anger only mounted. The excesses he
witnessed were repulsive. There were drunkards in the
street, trees chopped down to make buildings to store more
dead trees and an endless visage of filth. There was so
much food going to waste that it lined the back alleys of
every city he visited. All of this wretchedness seeped
into his pores, infiltrating all his senses to the point of
absolute disgust. The pain he had felt building deep within
could no longer be ignored. Something had to be done before
every last blade of grass was trampled to make way for the
gluttonous lifestyle of these beasts.
As he paced to and fro, a grating sound emanated from his
pockets, the sound of metal upon metal, coming from HIS
pockets! Thrusting his hand into his pocket he pulled out
a fistful of coins, the coins that hed gathered while at
the academy running errands for Simon and his associates.
This was the last straw! He had been turned against
himself and the world around him; his anger could no longer
be kept in check. Emitting a beastial howl that could be
heard from forests away, Hallathos rid himself of the
tainted coin and swore by the angry Gods that filled his
tortured soul, that he would never again go against the
land, rather would he lay down his rotting corpse to feed
the Earths last breath...
The Awakening
Added Fri Mar 5 10:19:56 2010 at level 42:
Decades having rolled into centuries, Hallathos had spent
much of his time in the woodlands, alone, calling upon the
Ancient's and opening himself to their visions. From the
chaos of the Primeval Howl emerged a vast array of
Ancients, those too far removed from today's lore to even
mention. As they were called forth, he found himself
imbued with an overwhelming sensation, as if all of one's
senses were coming alive at once! His visions did appear
more in focus when the massive giant would emerge, a
familiar voice echoing from the chaos, a voice asking him,
"How make how that has lasting sound if not see truth of
earth."
It was with this thought he found himself, scowling as
usual, hurrying through the treacherous fog of the southern
mountain ranges when WHOOOOOSHHH...a buffeting wind coincided
by a roaring and chaotic cacophony of voices burst into his
mind! He was caught up in the wind, lifted up, tossed
around and his head filled with visions and journeys that
lay before him. His spirit was now as free as the wind and
the words the Ancient Jasthrean spoke rang clear.
Wishing to take time to offer thanks to the Ancients, he
made his way to a place where once the Ancient Jasthrean
spoke the words that have churned within him since. This
time, perhaps due to the events that had recently unfolded,
he was scowling a bit less when he meandered slightly off
his intended course. Seeing a pool of water before him, he
knelt down to take a drink and looking up he noticed an odd
looking stone. Leaning forward to take a closer look he
placed his hand upon its surface when suddenly whispers
crept into his consciousness, tearing down the barriers of
time and filling his mind with the memories of old...
"Visions of the Tribunal dancing over the corpse of the
fallen, the Empire scarring the land with roads and an
angry Ancient coming forth to set things right..."
He would meditate further upon his visions, but now, he
knew what he had experienced was only the beginning and
that his life before him was only the prelude of what was
yet to unfold.
