Description
Though he bears armor beneath his uniform, this man is smartly attired in
a rust colored jacket trimmed with black silk, rust colored cotton leggings,
and black leather boots which, whilst not polished to a shine, are of good
quality and softened from being carefully looked after.
His uniform suggests that he is part of some sort of guard, perhaps of a
noble's household, but both it, and his relaxed bearing, make you doubt that
he is retained as a strong-arm. A small beltpouch contains a few thin books
scrolls, and some finely engraved slender rods that could well be magical
wands. He carries a staff and dagger, but in such a manner that the
impression is utilitarian rather than combative, for even in these troubled
times the majority use their staff simply for walking, and their dagger, if
they are lucky enough to have one, merely for eating from their trenchers.
The man's hair is black, and cut neatly in an unremarkable style, which
was in fashion amongst the merchant class. His eyes are brown, alert, and
bracket a straight nose of moderate length. His lips are full, though not
exceptionally red, and don't particularly stand out in a face which, whilst
not weathered, does show that he spends a fair bit of time outdoors.
Role
background

Hopefully my rp will give more detail about my background, but in a nutshell:
Served in Household guard of Lord Galinnas, a noble with a medium sized fiefdom.
Not brawny, but proved himself intelligent and thus was entrusted to settle most disputes
on his Lord's behalf. He also made use of minor magic by making suspected cutpurses
glow so that they could be apprehended and questioned.
However, his lord died, and the son of the Lord took charge. He was a cruel, unjust man,
fond of entertaining himself with the misery of others and pronouncing unfair
judgements. Hammond could not tolerate this, and quit his position, seeking another
position from which he could satisfy his desire to see justice done, and protect the
weak.
Why Hammond carries the staff of justice

Hammond spoke out against taking the staff. Taking the life of an innocent to save yourself is an evil
act, and he would not condone it. That the other members of the Tribunal committed the atrocity behind his
back is no excuse. He will not let someone survive because they caused the death of an innocent man that
upheld Justice.
