Description

Short dark black hair that once shone of silver, is now flecked with spots of white. As obvious sign of his half-human heritage. His narrow features show signs of age. Small wrinkles crease the corners of his grey almond eyes. Once smooth skin shows the wear of battle with numerous scars readily visible. His lithe frame is complimented with thickly toned muscles showing an edge of readiness. His slightly pointed ears and dark pigment do little to disguise the other half of his heritage.

The Code

Harol adhere's to a strict code of self imposed honor it is as follows.
Parity is of utmost importance.  Without parity he is just another weak soul.

Respect  your enemy and yourself.   There will come times when his foes have
showed themselves undeserving though countless act of cowardice. These souls
will be punished for their lack of heart.

There is no greater glory than to die on the field of battle, however only a fool gives his
life when it benefits no cause.

Parity will only be broken in times of war within the village or our enemies.  And only in
situations it is deemed nessecary.

Thrym and the code of honor

For years Harol had studied under Thrym. Each passing day hardening his body and spirit for the war he would fight.
It was during these rigorous years he came to realize that anyone could pick up a blade and fight. It was his devotion to a strict
code of honor and respect that would seperate himself from the rest.

Murderous Events

Added Wed Nov 21 00:47:37 2007 at level 25:

It was just another day in Harols life. He woke up ate some of the gruel served in the cafeteria
and prepared for another lesson with Jaragh.  They walked slowly through Balator, the ancient
knight spoke once again of his past.  As the story concluded Jaragh went into depth discussing
that young Harol should find a cause to dedicate his life to.

As they day wore on and the sun sunk into the western sky the pair walked back to the orphange.
They would be greeted by a sight that warped Harols mind and sent him back down that dark
path.

A band of novice adventures had decided the wholesale would impress their guildmasters and
further their reputation.  Harol could only stare in disbelief while the party descened on Ferfis.
One of the wizards took the lead, extending his hands hands and muttering a few words.

layers of frost surronded his hands and he reached for the poor crippled boy.

The week following the slaughter Harol could not sleep, anytime he drifted off all
he could see was Ferfis' head explode in a spray of ice.  Jaragh was right, he had found
his cause to fight for.  Even to this day the image of his only friend dying haunts him.

Intervention

The villagers that ran the orphange saw the changes taking place within the young Harol.
After a small meeting they decided they needed to intervene or risk loosing his soul to the
darkness that slowly consumed it.

It was at this time the keeper of the orphanage Jaragh took Harol under his wing as his pupil.
Soon his days were filled with tutoring and stories by the wise old knight. Often they would
walk through the village as he told stories of his service with the now defunct knights of Thera.
These stories of service in the name of honor were always his favorite.   The high standards of
integrity and respect these individuals held for themselves and their enemies lead to many
day dreams. It was during these walks that Harol first heard the barbarian Thrym yell his
mage hating rhetoric at his students.

Humble Beginnings

Harol knows little of his life before the orphange and how he came to be there.
What he is sure of is that he was different from the rest of his childhood playmates.
From his slightly pointed ears to the darker hue of his skin.  It was these differences
that would one day save his life and all together change it.

It was a typical day in his childhood life. While the rest of the orphans played outside
Harol was stuck inside with his only friend.  Ferfis the cripple. They came together as they were
both shunned by the human children for their apparent differences.
Years passed and the taunting continued mercilessly, as the orphans grew older the torment
grew worse.  Harol's attitude and behaviour slowly changed what was once an innocent boy
became a dark and brooding pre-teen more content to torture small animals and insects than
play with the others.
