Description

Reaching almost six and a half feet tall, this slender elven man has a well muscled, though wiry frame. His blond hair is cropped close to his head, and so light that it seems he is bald to the casual observer. Deep blue eyes cast about with a confident gaze. Constantly moving about with a stern conviction, appearing to look for any trouble. His hands appear to be severely scared from burns, and look as though it would be painful for him to hold anything for an extended period of time. His clothing has the air of aristocracy, though seems well worn and a bit threadbare. As you gaze more closely you are able to determine that....

A love not allowed

He had been sneaking to their small farm for 
quite a few weeks.  At first just to catch 
a glimpse of her.  Her beauty rivaled even 
that of the most beautiful of his race.  He
knew his parents would be disappointed.  They
believed it was his destiny to one day take
over his fathers place as Count of their
large estate.  Third in line now for the 
throne of Darsylon, should anything happen
to the Princess, Hunsodin had always been
taught that his duty was to his family.

Weeks passed before she found him, out there
at the edge of her parents fields. Their love
blossomed quickly. Hunsodin knew what his
parents would say.  Say nothing of the girls
race, her station in life would bring them
shame.  So hidden their relationship was.

Hunsodin, deep down, knew that his fate was
not what his parents had set.  He knew now,
weeks after falling in love, that his path
was different.  How different, he could never
truly know until his feet were solidly on that
path....

Loss

Hunsodin could smell the smoke before he saw it.  Black as
night it rose into the morning air.  He knew something was
wrong, and so he ran.

Ran across the wood, into the small valley.  He looked down
at a farm engulfed in flame. Every building burning with an
anger born of wild burning hatred.  As he came closer, the 
heat almost overwhelmed him.  He could see bodies, more 
than a few, littering the farm.  All of them dressed in
black armor emblazoned with the Codex of the Empire.

Hunsodin came up on the house, weaving in and out between
the burning buildings.  At its door, he found her father,
dead from many stabs.  Curiously a sword Hunsodin had 
never seen before gleamed in the dirt by his hand.  It
had a Phoenix on its hilt.  Hunsodin's head snapped up
then, as he heard a whimper come from inside the house.
Could it be?  Could she still be alive?  Without hesitation
he slammed his shoulder into the charred door and rushed into
the blaze.

He found her near the back of the home, her small body held
down by a beam from the ceiling of the home.  Smoke burning at
his eyes.  She was burned, terribly burned, but he had hope
that if he could just get her out, he could find help in 
Darsylon.  He grabbed the sill burning beam and heaved with
the strength that can only come from the deepest of Love.
Once free, he grabbed her up and stumbled out the front door.

She gave up the ghost then, as he laid her in the grass some
ways away from the burning structures.  Tears fell from Hunsodin
freely then.  Oddly, he didn't feel the pain in his hands 
until the first tears hit them.  Then his tears of sorrow
became screams of pain, and anguish.

Fate

The months passed, Hunsodin in a daze.  He would not let
the healers touch his burned and mangled hands.  He knew
that he must keep that memory alive.

His dreams were awful.  He slept so little that his waking
hours were almost a blur.  It was a clear night, he fell asleep
the fire in his room burning smokier than usual.  Perhaps it
was the smoke, perhaps it was fate, more likley it was both.

His dream, for the first time since the fire did not shake
him in fear.  Instead it was peaceful, almost serene.  He
found himself in the Farm.  Untouched by flames, his love
walking out of the house toward him.

"Dearest," came her soothing voice, "you have suffered so
much for this.. For something that you could not have hoped
to stop.  My Fate was to meet this end, and I met it with
dignity, and honor.  Mourn no longer, dearest.  We all
meet this fate, it is our journey to it that matters.  Take
up my cause dearest, and that of my Father.  It is not
my place to share your fate, only to ensure that you 
get to it with Honor, and bring a light unto the world
as you do."

"But how can I go on?  My family, my birthright, they..."
"But how can I go on?  My family, my birthright, they..."
Hunsodin said with a wavering voice.

She raised a hand to him then, placing it on his cheek.

"Dearest.  Take youself up, you are your own man now.
come out of this stronger, and ready to trod the path 
before you.  The hill you climb to your fate will be 
steep, you will stumble, but stay true, keep this memory
in your heart.  Leave, tonight, be on your way to Voralia.
Find your place in the Guild of Paladins there.  Then, when
you feel the tug, make your way to His gardens.  There
you can ask more, learn more, become more...."

Roleplay Summary

Hunsodin was just a love struck boy, or so his parents thought.
Never truly approving of his choice of a human girl, they
fought him constantly.  Which truly only deepened his feelings
for her.

It wasn't until that tragic day that they truly understood
their boy.  That day, they understood the depth of his
character, and what would become the catalyst to his life.

Young in age, and truly young at heart, Hunsodin is a seeker.
Seeking to know more of the dream he had, to understand it's 
true meaning.  Born under the sign of Fate, he still struggles
with the concept of predestination.  Hoping, that there is
truly a way to change his fate, but not realizing that the
truth of the matter is it's not the end, but the journey 
that matters.  

As he ages, and learns more of his faith, and more of the 
dreams, he will progress to gaining this understanding, 
and perhaps become one who can teach others that it is
how we arrive at our fate that determines us.

The first step on his journey was to leave his home, and 
its comforts and move to the guildhouse in Voralia.  But 
he knows that there are more steps that must be taken.
Having heard of the Fortress of Light, and it's Brigade, 
and feels that their guiding principles are what he'll need
to stay on his path, and help shape it to one that She will
be proud of.  He knows her father was associated only by the
sword he held in his hand when he fell.  He buried the sword
with her father, and the rest of his family, but its symbol
and her fathers last stand to protect his family have always
stood out to Hunsodin
