Description
This hairy orange beast is an eleven feet tall mountain of muscles. Ebony
black skin can be seen through the thick orange fur at spots and a pair of
fiery red eyes peer out beneath the eyebrows. The thick muscled arms look
unnaturally naked as no hair covers them. Instead a complicated pattern of
white tattoos covers the black skin from the shoulder down and out over every
finger on its hands. A mismatch of well-worn armor covers the more vital
parts of the body, most of it is obviously to small for the huge body. It is
almost impossible to decide what gender this bulky giant has, but a feeling
tells you its a male.
Every movement he makes seem to be very slow, but he walks upright with a
majestic posture and the weapons he carries are covered with dry blood.
Somehow the slow movements just make you more wary in his presence.
Role
The Rites 3
Added Mon Jan 12 10:20:37 2009 at level 51:
Iegob sat in silence at the shrine, near the destructor, the closet real friend
he had in the village. He had recently found out that he was not very well
liked, not that it mattered, or that he cared, he actually mostly found it
amusing that they didn't dare to confront him but instead went behind his back
and talked to the drillmaster Luggbok, they were weak, none of them would
become the commander. Iegob was certain that it would either be him or Luggbok,
the only ones with enough strength, well Borkahd was strong as well... But Iegob
ruled him out, as he was still young and inexperienced.
Then it happened, the gods revealed their choice. And it was Borkahd! Iegob
blinked a few times, shaking his gigantic head trying to think, before he
called out as the first villager to do so. All hail dem new commander! All be
hailin fer Borkahd!
In his savage mind Iegob made a note, and placed it on top of the other, very
few notes he kept. He would follow the new commander and drillmaster, as long
as they were strong. But if they were to show any sign of weakness, and not
handling the task, he would make use of that... Iegob will be commander, that he
is certain off, now he just has to survive the current one... Suddenly another
thought struck him like a gigantic hammer, Lord Enlilth... Iegob had basically
promised the great lord that he would conquer the village. "Iegob betta be
survivin te be commander, ur em guldin guin te get pissed" Iegob said and
walked over to his hut to get some rest.
The Rites 2
Added Mon Jan 12 10:19:17 2009 at level 51:
It did not take long to find the drow, and as he struck the hammer over his
head he could see the mithril burning, and he knew, the battle would be over in
a second, he hammered his maces into the drow who quickly fell to the ground in
a lifeless heap. Then he realized, Luggbok, he must kill that giant, avenge the
failure earlier in the rites. He noticed the giant not far away, and he dashed
into him, bringing his hammer down onto the head of his foe.
The battled back and forth, and Luggbok continued to retreat until he
finally gave up and outright fled under the force of Iegobs attacks,
finally he was cornered, unfortunately for Iegob two other warriors had
joined in the struggle, both to Iegobs disadvantage, though Iegob was
filled with the lust for blood, so ignoring the pain from the blows he
pressed his attacks on Luggbok, battering the giants body into an
unrecognizable mass before turning to face the others.
It was too late though, bleeding from multiple wounds in his body, having his
bones crushed he could not put up much of a fight to the other two as they
disarmed him of his weapons and pinned him down, as he drew his last breath a
wide grin spread upon his face as the name Luggbok formed on his lips...
Returning to the village, it was time for the test of wits. Hask, the village
poet had managed to be selected to participate in them as well, this worried
Iegob, as he knew Hask was well versed with his words, and frankly, even Iegob
would agree that talking wasn't Iegobs strongest side.
Many great things were said in the rites, all of the participants proved to be
capable inspirers, leaders and tacticians.
Finally the rites were over, and a grave like silence covered the village,
waiting for the gods decision, who would become the next commander?
The Rites 1
Added Mon Jan 12 10:10:31 2009 at level 51:
Iegob was standing in the hall of remembrance, trying to summon forth a feeling
of the past legendary warriors of the village. Soon he would participate in the
ancient ritual to select a new Commander. Such a dumb creature as Iegob was
much less distracted by thoughts and therefore could feel the presence of the
spirits from old. This was a great day, the greatest day this far in Iegobs
long life. A century of hard training and war had led him here, to this very
moment of preparation. He closed his eyes and mumbled the first pray he had
ever made since he decided to follow the great lord, asking for strength to
conquer the position as Commander.
With a quick glance up towards the skies through the small smoke hole in the
hut, Iegob adjusted his armors and turned around, heading towards the shrine,
the village lords had summoned them, it has begun.
*CRACK* The sound seemed to echo in the circle as the mattock met with
Thomayens bones. The force of the blow crushed his bones, Iegob and the crowd
around the circle knew it was over, the little drow could not withstand the
might of the fire giants blows for long.
Iegob had drawn his first blood in the rites, and the strange tingling
sensation of fear and being nervous changed into a feeling he was well aware
of, self-confidence, strength.
Iegob SMASH HARD! SMASH EM ALL Iegob yelled as he let his mattock fall with a
heavy blow on the slightly larger giants arm, a crushing sound was heard and at
the same time the other giants face became a mask with bloodshot eyes as he
forced himself into a frenzy of blood thirst. The two giants both enraged by
the scent of blood, drumming their mattocks at each other's bodies, heavy blows
that most mortal men wouldn't withstand, until suddenly Iegob misjudged the
situation swinging his mattocks wildly just right past the other giants torso,
the crowd around the circle knew it was over, Luggbok had defeated Iegob
The rites continued and the blood continued to flow, sound of bones being
crushed, and boots clashing through the blood-filled grounds echoed around the
area. When finally, it was time for the last test of battle.
The greatest warriors of Thera spread out, into the forests, caves and roads.
All of them, waiting for the Avatars call. And then it was heard, FIGHT, the
words rung in Iegobs ears as if he was standing just two feet away. A moment of
hesitation before deciding to stick with his tactics. He would hunt for the
drow first, as he had found a mithril hammer on the ground, amazingly alike the
ones he had seen a beard cowered dwarf wield on some of the tapestries in the
village.
Complete failure
Added Mon Jan 5 06:37:22 2009 at level 49:
Finally, the missive has arrived that Iegob have been waiting for. Not
that he could read it himself, but as always, there are always little
gnomes or elves to put into use for him.
But as the little elf reads the note he doesnt get further than what
date that has been planned before he gets his head smashed in completely
by a furious Iegob.
All his training, all his preparations All for nothing The rites will
be held at a time when Iegob is unable to awaken.
Now Iegobs only hope is that the commander to be has the balls to meet
Iegob in the circle of rites for the title.
This is what Iegob lives for, this is his goal. He must conquer a new
village to rule!
A constant war
Added Sun Jan 4 12:35:32 2009 at level 49:
All these years of constant war has made Iegob even more savage and brutal than
he once was. It has honed his instincts, skills and the tiny intellect he
possesses.
It took him time, but finally he has learned that certain races considers him
an inherent enemy, and that striking them first might prove a viable tactic.
Elves, storm giants and even a few guilds like the one of the Paladins Iegob
now considers enemies, and he will hunt them as long as there are no other
mages that he can harm.
He has also realized that he must continue to study his strongest opponent
within the village, Luggbok. Iegob considers himself stronger than him, but he
has also learned that if he gets overconfident, that strength might be turned
into weakness.
The village has also become crowded, as Luggbok seem to accept just any new
applicant. Iegob plans involve making the initiating a lot harder, and putting
those who already have huts under constant tests to be able to keep their huts.
The one law must rule, only the strongest survive, in this case, gets to keep
their huts...
A divine meeting
Added Mon Dec 22 17:53:41 2008 at level 36:
Finally Iegob faced lord Enlilth. Meeting with the great lord made Iegob feel
tiny, even though physically he is much larger. A very confusing feeling for
Iegob, but it made him reluctant to actually test the lords strength in
combat.
The lord mocked Iegob for being so confident but the poor giants intellect
didnt grasp the delicate humour of the god. This is most likely the reason
to why Iegob survived the confrontation with the god and actually got a
promise to meet with him again once he has become Commander of the village.
So, now Iegob has his goals set in stone, he must reach the pinnacle of his
guild and somehow obtain the title as commander, through the rites, or
through the lacking presence of the current one. Being a fire giant hell
most likely not be able to keep this to himself, as many already know what he
seeks.
Iegob has also learned that he is very impatient in the battle, he wish for
his enemies to die quickly and as painfully as possible. So when the time is
right, he will ask his guildmaster to teach him how to do make a cry of
thunder and give his enemies a chilling embrace.
He has already located his most possible opponent in the rites, Luggbok a
cloud giant of some strength. He is already trying to watch him combat as
much as possible to learn his weaknesses, hopefully this will pay off in the
long run.
A hut was built
Added Wed Dec 17 13:32:52 2008 at level 28:
After several years of hunting, training and searching, Iegob has finally
been allowed to build his hut within the village. It was Lady Yean herself
that gave Iegob the permission, and he will do his best to honour her
blessing.
Now the pursuit to become commander can begin! It will take a lot of training
for Iegob, both when it comes to tactics and in battle proves. But he is
determined to win the rites of war once theyre held again.
A strange world...
Added Sat Dec 13 17:48:11 2008 at level 27:
Seeking out villagers, the noldarian smith and having had plenty with fights
with mages, came in contact with a young shaman named Zerrla. Zerrla preached
the way of lord Enlilth but was reluctant at the time to tell Iegob more
about this god who she claimed was very strong and powerful.
Iegob began his quest for information about this god, having a thought that
maybe, just maybe, there were things out in this big world that was stronger
than him, he knew he must find a way to become even stronger. So, after
having heard by the herald Oulo that the high priest of the empire was one of
his priest, he decided to seek him out.
The meeting with high priest Nererial was brief, but provided Iegob with even
more questions, the world outside the volcanic caves were much more
complicated than he ever could have known.
He finds it most confusing, people attacking him from left and right,
claiming that he is dark of heart and that theyre lightwalkers. Iegob knows
nothing of this, though it has made him curious.
Iegob also decided that he would call himself Iegob Strong, mostly because
well, he enjoyed the sound of that.
Goals
Added Sat Dec 6 18:04:52 2008 at level 4:
Iegob will seek out the village with two goals. The most important one is to
become commander, implementing the one rule. The second is to rid Thera of
creatures capable of using magic, as he has learned that the little gnome he
once ate must have been a mage.
Hearing rumours about lord Enlilth as the supreme tyrant of tyrants has made
Iegob wish to seek him out to test his strength and see if the rumours holds
true, if so, perhaps Iegob can learn something from this lord.
The long long walk
Added Sat Dec 6 18:04:19 2008 at level 4:
With food in his stomach Iegob set out on a long walk, without any aim he
just kept walking. Walking and thinking, trying to decide on what to do. He
had one feeling though, a strong feeling that he needed to find another
village or society to rule, a place where he would feel important, a place
where he could enforce "the one rule".
After weeks of walking, crossing vast forests, great mountains even a huge
ocean he saw the first city in his life, Hamsah Mutazz. Though he did not
like what he saw, and his legs werent tired, something kept him going and he
passed the city and set his foot on a long road, heading west until he saw
the great city of Galadon, the center of Thera, not that he knew at that
point that it is, but somehow he felt at ease, and his legs felt exhausted.
With eyes wide open, staring at the vendors, beggars and guards, he walked
down the trade road until he smelled something familiar, blood and sweat. To
the north he saw a sign with a sword and shield, in front of it a little man
stood with shiny armor and weapons in his hands.
The long walk had ended, Iegob had found the warriors guild of Galadon.
Spending months and months of training with the guildmaster and student,
Iegob started to become restless again. This was not a place he would be
satisfied ruling over, just a platform from where he could move, a first step
on a road.
One day a tall giant entered the guild, scared from numerous battles and huge
hammers hanging from his sides he sat down in the guild bar, hurling huge
pints of mead into his throat. This caught Iegob s interest immediately and
he sat down next to the aging giant.
As they were both giants not many words were exchanged, mostly grunts and
grumbles, but in the brief conversation the two had Iegob came out a changed
giant. He had been told of the battle ragers and the way of the berserker.
That was the signal his instincts had been waiting for, now he had a goal.
Lesson learned
Added Sat Dec 6 18:03:00 2008 at level 4:
Iegob had no idea how to react to this, as he didnt see it as a threat, he
immediately thought of it as food. As he had not eaten for several hours, and
all the thinking had made him quite hungry he reached for the little thing.
The gnomes eyes widen, and the laughing mouth changed into a snarl. Suddenly
a cold pain erupted in Iegobs face. Not certain on where it came from Iegob
shrugged and reached for the gnome again. This time the gnome spoke, telling
him to stop. Iegob was surprised, never had food talked back to him before
and he did as he was told. The gnome kept talking, saying words that he had
never heard, and that he didnt understand, experiments, mindprobing and
things like arcanemathematics.
Iegob decided after a while that he really didnt care what the food said and
that it would fit much better in his belly. So again he reached for the
gnome, grabbing him by both arms when the cold pain shot up through his arms,
this time much more intense. Iegob quickly decided that the pain shouldnt
stop him from taking what he wanted and he continued to lift the little gnome
towards his mouth, the pain just kept soaring through his arms, and if
someone had been around to see it, they would have seen this huge orange
giant lifting a small gnome towards his wide gape, white flames blazing in
intricate patterns on the giant arms, freezing the hair to ice, leaving them
naked, until the giant finally blood squirted from the decapitated neck of
the gnome.
As he chewed on the gnomes head he realized that the pain had faded a
little, but his arms still burned and he glanced at them, seeing his ebony
black skin scared in strange patterns, from his now bare fingertips all the
way up to his shoulders.
After he finished eating the gnome he sat down and began studying these new
scars that covered his arms, gently touching what in reality was forever
frozen ice, tattooed into his arms, reminding him of what mages can do. He
decided that these little gnomes were dangerous creatures, creatures that
must die quickly before they could inflict such a pain on him again.
Strange revelations
Added Sat Dec 6 17:59:41 2008 at level 3:
As Iegob reached the surface he walked over to the tunnel entrance that led
down to the village, whistling a tune, feeling perfectly in harmony. He
didnt even stomp on the few bugs that didnt move out of his way quickly
enough.
He reached the cave entrance and his jaw dropped down. The tunnel was sealed
with tons and tons of stone blocks. Slowly a thought began to take form in
his head, for several minutes he stood there, doing the most thinking he had
ever done in his whole life, he realised that yes, he now was the village
elder... But also the only survivor of the village, he was the true proof of
the "one rule". The strongest survived, and that was Iegob.
Not certain on what to do, he stood there for what must have been hours,
slowly forming thoughts, thinking hard on what to do. Somehow he thought he
could hear something giggling in the air around him, but he paid no attention
to this as he had heard it close to him the past two years. Not until the air
"twitched" and a tiny form began to take shape.
In front of him a very tiny creature stood, laughing hard, a big round nose
in the middle of its face, a pair of goggles covering the small pig-like eyes
and a long robe with strange symbols on it covering the tiny but fat body.
This was the first time Iegob met a gnome.
Scheming
Added Sat Dec 6 17:57:03 2008 at level 3:
In the new two years Iegob used his gang of bullies to strengthen his
position within the village, making sure that his opposition kept getting
into lethal accidents. Of course none of these "assassinations" was very
smooth or clever, but then again, the village elders were firegiants as well...
During these two years the population of the village was decimated to half of
what it used to be and after two years Iegob got his chance. The village
elder was supposed to hold a speech for the whole village in one of the caves
above the lava river. A few weeks before Iegob had been examining the roof
there and found out that by moving a single stone block he could make the
entire ceiling collapse. With the help of the by now, almost, loyal bullies
Iegob managed to move the block a little bit so now the slightest push would
make the whole cave go down.
As the elder entered the stage Iegob convinced his crew that they had to be
among the villagers and listen so theyd not get suspected, Iegob climbed up
to the stone block and waited. In the middle of the speech, when Iegob was
certain all of the village was gathered, he pushed the block with all of his
strength, and quickly crawled up a small shaft to get into safety. As he
crawled he heard the thunderous echoes of the cave-in and the scream of his
kin, Iegob laughed as he crawled, certain that now hed become the village
elder! The one in charge!
The bully
Added Sat Dec 6 17:55:05 2008 at level 2:
As the years passed and Iegob grow up, he quickly made a name for himself
among the other children. Already stronger and by far more brutal than any of
the others he quickly became a leader of the bullies. As the village only
lived by "the one rule", just about anything was accepted. But Iegob was so
effective at getting what he wanted that he quickly decimated the number of
children in the village, that the village elders had to put in new rules to
protect their offspring, otherwise theyd face extinction.
Iegob was appalled by this betrayal as he saw it. He firmly believed in the
"one rule", it was the only rule he thought to be just. It was then that he
decided that he must become the head of the village himself, and reinstate
"the one rule", never again will he be betrayed, and never will there be
anyone else above him changing the rules, betraying the "one rule".
A fierce baby
Added Sat Dec 6 17:50:08 2008 at level 2:
Born deep down in the volcanic bowels of under the eastern mountains Iegob
has always lived under the one rule of the fire giants. Already as a baby
Iegob was pitted against his brothers and sisters. This test consisted on who
would survive the longest without food and water. They were thrown down into
a pit, all six of them, and left there for a week. Usually none survived this
test, but every now and then the village got a baby that did. Iegob was a
survivor already at this point.
The first days the babies just screamed, but as they learned none would come,
the different personalities started to come forward. Some just retracted into
a corner, sitting there, sobbing to them selves. Others began crawling around
searching for some exit. Iegob did neither, he was hungry, thirsty, and
extremely angry. He quickly attacked the ones just sobbing, tearing them
apart and began feeding on their limbs and intestines.
As the days passed the others kept loosing in strength as Iegob just kept
gaining, savagely killing and feeding on his brothers and sisters until the
week had passed and only he was still alive.
When the parents and the village elder came they found Iegob sitting in the
middle of the puddle, babbling to himself as babies do, with a smile on his
face and a bloody arm in his hand. Even these brutal firegiants was taken
aback by this, never had the elder seen such a brutal behaviour by one of
their babies. Iegob was quickly taken from the pit, and accepted as one of
the new village children.
