Description

Damn that's a big fella! Even for one of those mountain giants this one's a biggun. Almost fifteen feet or you're eyes are cheating you. Thick arms and shoulders, long hair almost white like a single cloud on a blue day. Eyes about that sky blue, too, with a glint that's either anger or humor, hard to tell. Lot of little nicks and cuts and scars on what skin you can see, what's not covered by random furs and leathers and armors of varied sorts. Obviously one who spends lots of time outdoors and without much creature comforts, that's for sure! You spot the haft of an axe and maybe a few other things, but for the most part he's a big giant with simple tastes and mostly unadorned gear. Pretty much, it just looks to you like

The Tale of Ihjezhed

Listen up there little fella and I'll tell yer the tale of me! Har!  Ain't
always pretty but good enough reason fer yer to be sitting back and drinking some
ale, and that's always good!
Well these here lowlands ain't much like where I'm from, maybe yer noticing I
ain't like lots of you short... I mean yer human types and such.  but I'll
tell yer lad, even where I'm from, I'm a biggun.  Got to be so big I'm always
worrying about hurting people, just patting 'em on the back! Har!
Tried some time with a little lass who was wanting me to be being more, what'd
she say, graceful. Well that wasn't working, I'm sure yer figuring that out fer
yerself there! It ain't easy, but  where there's a will!

But as yer may be knowing there, sure as sure my folks, we ain't much fer magic.
We gots two ways, yer fist or yer prayers.  Sometimes both!
Well the lass, she was thinking, maybe magic might be being able fer some helping,
if yer knowing what I'm meaning.  We ain't knowing much about it so figuring ain't
any harm in trying. Took a damn long trip, meeting up with a fine bit of animals,
sure as sure, and ended up in that there city run by some fella named Loke.
Well they gots plenty of mages there, and not too few a fine places fer some food
and ale, I'll tell yer little fella! Lass finds one of these lads and asks right
out - we ain't much fer telling big stories, yer probably know.  What can yer be
doing to be helping my man here, she says? Oh, magic can be doing anything there
lass, just be giving me enough gold and time and I'll be making him the prince of
the prizes, yer going to see! Well she handed him all the coin we had and said
we'd be back in three days, figuring that's plenty of time he smiles, all pretty
smile, and said we were going to be great! So we spent a fine three days, happy as
yetis in a snow storm with a roving herd of fat cows!

As yer thinking, we made our way back to the fella in his mage store there,
whatever yer calling them. Little mage lad says he's been working all day and
night for all the days making some sort of magic. Lass gets excited and tells him
to do what he's got to do. Little mage fella doesn't so much as look at me as he
turns to her and before yer can be saying what the hells he's speaking his words
on her, not me!!! I stand there watching as all of a sudden she turns her face
from mine, yer imagingin this?, and now looks at this mage like he's the best gift
them gods ever giving anyone ever in the history of giving things, sure as sure
it's just immediate!!
And then, before I can even figure what I'm needing to be doing, he's grabbing her
arm, speaking some words, and BAM!  They being gone!!!
I was learning later the mage was using something called a recalling or something
like that there.

The Tale of Ihjezhed and Some Insight Into Ihjezhed

I gots a letter, about a week later.  Lass saying she didn't know what she was
ever thinking with a piece of Yeti shite like me and if I ever came for her she'd
say I'd kidnapped and raped her. Attached was a little note from the mage lad.
Four words only.
I win. You lose.
Even telling yer now there lad it's sure as sure getting that storm up in me!
Sure as sure I'll be blowing them little bastards down! Har!
But that's how I got to be doing what I been doing there, little fella. Now yer
knowing.

Ihjezhed's a booming, enormous (even by giant standards) happy-go-lucky guy
who also has enormous fury, when aroused, which mostly is against mages. He
feels resonance this way with Ergush, whom he tries to follow.
He never had much use for empire or tribunal, and warred with empire because
of the war with the village, but recent events regarding the obvious corruption
in tribunal, with Sqierna attacking someone in town and not just not being kicked
out or even losing her vindicator position, but not even being killed like anyone
else who commits a tribunal crime.  Because of this, he has no tolerance or even
basic good naturedness toward them.

He loves ale. All drinks, really, but ale most of all. He's convinced it's
practically medicinal and good for everyone. Takes a bit of affront when anyone
refuses even a sip, and especially if they (like a certain minotaur villager)
disparage it and go so far as to empty the cask he's given them.  That's one of
the few ways you make Ihjezhed an enemy, or at least a very un-friend.
As is often the case, people often equate great size with small intelligence.
He's a cloud giant, so of course he'll never be brainy like an elf, but he's
as smart as a cloud giant can be and definitely works to master not just the
techniques the guildmaster teaches, but the strategies and tactics of the craft
of war and fighting.
