Description

Long and thin, Ikiso has a deathly, yet graceful appearance telling of his heritage. His body and shape are hardened from countless years of combat. Small burns and marks shaped like small phoenix cover his once flawless skin, scars earned in battle. Bite and claw scars cross cross cross his arms and legs. He looks down his long nose, his head crocked to one side, a hand fidgeting with something long and thin twirling between his fingers deftly. His hair naturally shapes his face elegantly, and seems kept clean of blood. Eyes deeply burrowed into his skull peer out from his dark skin, malice and contempt streaming from his flared iris. On the sides of his neck you can see scars and markings running into his body; they have a strange symmetry to them, as if they were done so on purpose. Looking closer you see...

Role

Ahdremiel's Handmaiden Part I

Added Thu Nov 8 18:56:14 2012 at level 50:
Deep within the Underdark, near the ruins of Lloth's
ancient temple, is the city of Teth Azeleth. This city
has long been the stronghold of the Spider Queens
devout admirers. Within the First House of Teth Azeleth
rests the Matron Mother, her guardian, the Handmaiden
of Lloth, and her Priestess. Unknown to the Matron, Ahdremiel,
there was a growing hatred amongst one of the schools
of Teth Azeleth for the Handmaiden. Yet for nearly 1900
years, the Handmaiden stood guard.

The rush of blades and clash of metal awoke Ikiso Gashfall
to another day of training his body, the dank air of the
city hung heavy with each breath he took into his body. His
Master and trainer barked orders to the students of War,
his commands sharp this day, and for reason, the Weapon
Master of the First House came to inspect the new batch
of students.

Ikiso Gashfall was one of these students. The WeaponMaster
so rarely arrived at the School of Magic, and the Drow
Master of War had been pressing his students to perform
at their best. Lift that sword! Cried the Master. Parry that strike!
His instruction invaluable to the new students of War.

It had irked Ikiso that not the WeaponMaster, nor the Master
of War had ever been considered to guard the Matron Mother.
He did not understand why the Matron has chosen the Oziloth
Handmaiden, a foul acid blasting, tentacle wielding, magical
beast of no discernible discipline or ability. With this on his
mind, the shouts of the Master of War drifted into the background.
His mind was brought back to clarity by the sudden stillness
and silence that fell over the students.

The Weapon Master, Nezelnn, had arrived, his scimitar gleaming in the
thick air, his un'zeth perfectly tailored to his body. His body was
hardened by centuries of warfare and training. His gaze like
smoldering steel as he scanned over the warriors. He said nothing
and nodded, neither approving or disapproving. His gaze continued
until he reached the Master of War.

Ahdremiel's Handmaiden Part II

Added Thu Nov 8 18:57:16 2012 at level 50:
It was clear to Ikiso that these militaristic masters, their devout
obsession to their physical abilities, was true strength, and could
and should be the pinnacle of power within the first house.
For the strength of the house could rest upon the weathered
shoulders of the War Master. Ikiso thought in his ambition that
if he could propel the Master to the Guardian of the Matron
Mother, perhaps it could bring him the respect and benefits
of such a position. The finest weaponry, a place in nobility,
perhaps even his own lineage in position to guard the Matron.

After Nezelnn's visit to the school, Ikiso gathered his brothers,
some of the finest warriors he knew, and plotted a way to
slay the Handmaiden, position the War Master in such a way
that he would be chosen a successor to the Handmaiden, and
a way to protect their secret. Ikiso left out many of the details
of his own ambition, for he was the best of his brothers, and
he, amount any of them, deserved the honor for the coup.
As his mind wandered, a faint popping could barely be heard.

The failed Betrayal.

Added Thu Nov 8 18:58:57 2012 at level 50:
The Warmaster would be proud Ikiso thought. For certain,
he would secretly share Ikiso's betrayal of the Handmaiden.
For if any had ambition to match Ikiso's, it was the Master.

His meeting was held in the depths of the Underdark,
outside the gates of Teth Azeleth. Far from the prying
eyes of any which could overhear Ikiso's plan to betray
the Handmaiden. The plan would involve an invasion
of magi, their magic so powerful as to elude the eyes of
the guards of the house. The magi were chosen as to
remove, or at least limit, the remote possibility that the
Archmage would be trusted, or considered, as a
replacement for the Handmaiden.

The Warmaster, along with Ikiso and his small band
of Warriors, would have battled the onslaught, and
slain them all, their remains badly dissolved by the
acid of the Handmaiden, who would have fallen in
the attack. The Warmaster agreed, and Ikiso would
return to the school, gather his brothers, and strike.

The Warmaster warned, however, that if Ikiso's plan
would fail, Ikiso would become an outcast, and likely
slain. He would deny ever knowing of this betrayal.
An agreement was struck, and they headed back to
the city.

As they approached the school, an uncommon silence
greeted them. Ikiso shouted for his brothers, and had
only the hollow echo of his own voice return to him.
He found his brothers, some of their bodies frozen in
awe, others bloated and blue, some with shards of
magical ice piercing their bodies, and yet others
with jagged claw marks covering their bodies. Blood
and guts were smeared across the school, covering
nearly every surface.

A note with an opalescent orb placed atop of it sat near
the War Masters weapon rack, it said:

Warmaster,

I have learned from one of my students it appears your
warriors may have plotted against the Handmaiden of
Ahdremiel. I am certain you had no part in planning this.
Instead of informing the Archmage, and in order to
spare you the dishonor of this betrayal, I came while your
warriors rested and ate after a long day of training and
dispatched of them for you. It appears you were not about
or you might have done so yourself.

Rest assured, this information shall remain mine for
use at a later time. It is best that you are kept in your place.
Perhaps you best clean up your mess.

Regards

The War Master turned to Ikiso, his gaze steady and
cold. He fingered the pommel of his sword, the muscles
of his arm twitching slightly, then calming. He slowly turned
his back to Ikiso, and walked deeper into the school.

Taking the last breath of his home, Ikiso fled Teth Azeleth
to plot his revenge, and follow through with his plan.

Ikiso Gashfall's goals.

Added Thu Nov 8 19:01:23 2012 at level 50:
Ikiso plans to find new brothers to study the art of war with.
He has found the Goddess Iunna, whom teaches of the
glory of battle. He ultimately will seek her out to earn her
mark.

Before this is to occur, however, Ikiso must become known
for his physical prowess, and a slayer of many magi. He
shall then lead his brothers into the UnderDark, meet the
War Master and bring him to slay the Master of the School
of Magi, as well as all his remaining students.

They will then move the bodies to the Handmaiden, slay
the Handmaiden and follow through with the plan Ikiso
and the War Master had made. Instead, they will claim
the Archmage planned the attack on the Handmaiden,
Ikiso had learned of it, informed the Master of War and
fought for Ahdremiel, slaying the magi, but not before
the Handmaiden had been overcome by her wounds.

With the handmaiden gone, the Master of War shall
be the likely replacement to guard the Matron Mother.

In a final sign of strength, and his skills in battle, Ikiso,
A student of the Master of War, shall defeat the Archmage
of the First House for his betrayal. This should show
to Ahdremiel that her house should be protected by a
warrior and their lineage, those who focus on the art of
war, who can depend on their battle prowess instead of
deceit and tricks, to protect her for another thousand years.

The Hellcat and Teth Azeleth

Added Fri Nov 23 10:46:57 2012 at level 51:
Ikiso met with Tiarhelle, Commander of Battle to discuss
the Hellcat Iunna. The Commander and Ikiso are similar in
they both seek the teachings of Iunna in War. It was
especially wise of Tiarhelle to seek Iunna's counsel
regarding the War with the Fortress. He found that
Tiarhelle was not as certain of his decision as Ikiso
would have liked. In so, Ikiso seeks to find a way to
keep the village at war with the Fortress, as he would
like to see it's Maran fall to the dark, as well as
keep the Commander interested in war with it.

Ikiso liked the nature of Iunna more so than
he would have thought. Ikiso being particularly more
violent than Iunna would have liked, he not surprised
that Iunna felt he warred for only the sake of war.

While Ikiso enjoys his battles with the Chasm and
with Nexus, they simply do not present a challenge.
None can defeat Ikiso in combat, and can only do so
without parity. The flighted simply fly away, and the
nexites stay away. Ikiso will hone his ability to
slay the magi, which merely involves keeping them
still long enough to slay them.

If Ikiso is to be tested in battle, it must be against
the Maran. The Initiates of the Jaguar that are Magi
are fools for the most part, the paladins, however,
present a greater challenge. They test his skills in
combat in ways no magi can. Their wrath particularly
devastating.

After meeting with Iunna, in which Ikiso was given the
task of 'thinking really deep thoughts' on war, he ventured
into the Underdark, to Teth Azeleth to fulfill his plan
to frame the Archmage, push the master of war into favor,
and avenge his brothers.

Ikiso had Rachael of the Inn fashion him tunics of the
Archmage of the First House, and of the Master of Magic's
students. He placed them at the foot of the handmaiden's
corpse, and had informed the Master of War to alert the
Matron of his slaying of the magi whom planned the
upheaval. Doing his part, his fallen brothers, now
of his concern. For Ikiso has a war to focus on, and a
name to claim.

War, Drillmaster and Rites.

Added Sun Dec 2 12:17:19 2012 at level 51:
Ikiso Gashfall has spent time thinking about Iunna, and
her request about the war. With the death of the Minotaur
Drillmaster, and the surrender of Tiarhelle, Ikiso is left with
the real possibility that either Cainargen, or another whom
shall replace Tiarhelle, would end the war with the Fortress.
Ikiso has very mixed feelings on this, as he can find
opportunity to openly war with those whom protect magi.

However, Tiarhelle, whom Ikiso respected greatly, last missive
to the village warned of the rise of the dark, and of the
greater threat of magic destroying the world. Ikiso, even
with his hatred, understands that the true enemy may be
gaining strength, while the village war weakens those
who would normally battle against the dark magi. To this
point, Ikiso took Cainargen to raid the Fortress against
two warriors, a paladin, and a bard. The only magi to be
seen was already fallen. In the end, the scepter remained
uncaptured because of Cainargen's death.

On War: Ikiso has watched as the Scions have attained more
powerful. He does not trust, naturally, Haphellna. She has
gathered rangers, thieves, and other non-magi to bolster her
ranks, as well as sought after dark felar magi for some kind
of deranged prophecy of some type.

While the Fortress protect magi, the scions, even those
whom do not normally have the innate possession of
magic, are able to draw upon ancient, dark magics of the
shadow plane.

Ikiso fears that stepping back from the war with the Fortress
shall make the village look weak, however, he has another
solution in order to end the war?A one that has the
greater opportunity to both break and split the spirit of the
Fortress, and make the Fortress either destroy itself, or
withdraw first. Ikiso feels that if this is necessary
to focus the war back upon the true enemy, the magi, he
will do so.

On Drillmaster: Ikiso feels that the Minotaurs
recommendation to Tiarhelle that he should become
Drillmaster was appropriate, for he feels himself greater than
his half breed cousin. However, he still respects the influence
of Cainargen, as he is marked by Thror, and has warred far
longer than he. Ikiso shall earn some scars in the rites, and
attempt to exert greater influence over the future of the
village.
