Description
Before you is a plainly clad young man. He is a human with a pale complexion
and a brooding manner. His green eyes somehow look distant and his appearance
is that of minimal effort to be presentable. Dark brown hair is sloppily
tucked into his robe, tied back simply. He wears little jewelry and seems to
walk with a quick, almost agitated determination, despite his seemingly
non-athletic build. Neither tall nor short, portly or thin there seems to be
little special about this man, save for a seeming complexity behind his
countenance.

Hailing from the city of commerce known as Seantryn Modan, Ilden Vorshin was
not raised a man of culture and civility. Rather his earliest life holds
memories stemming from a simple peasant background. His father worked the
piers and held many years on his mother, passing when Ilden was only eleven.
His mother struggled to survive primarily on the charity of others, a fact
that neither escaped Ildens attention nor failed to earn the contempt of
what little pride his father had bestowed in him.
Ilden learned to take care of himself at a young age. His mind was very
astute as early as he can remember and he was adept at riddles and shut
himself in with whatever books he managed to happen upon. His eremitic
behavior earned him acrimonious treatment by his peers, who perceived him as
pretentious. However, Ilden did not take bullying lightly and with his
profound obsession with vengeance he was oft cruel in his retributions.
One day Ilden happened upon a book of a tale of a seafaring adventurous
brigand and despite its worn edges and broken spine he carried it with him
wherever he went. Another child, as children can be, decided they would
personally deprive Ilden of his treasure. He beat Ilden bloody after school
and stole the book, with great revel destroying it page by page in front of
the other children. Feverish hatred boiled within the heart of Ilden and he
swore hed enact his revenge upon the lad, yet he was not strong, nor did
he have friends to assist him. He stalked the boy after school from a
distance, finding the boys dwelling and after nightfall, took his
mothers cleaver and used it to slay the boys beloved hound, leaving a
grisly mess of its carcass by its tie-out.
This was not the first nor last incident that formed Ildens love for
cruelty to the ignorant and insipid sheep of his acquaintance. And one day a
man took notice of his behavior and perhaps saw something within the boy that
this man viewed perhaps as promise. The man bought Ildens apprenticeship
from the mother for a few silver and took him away to learn the craft of
magic. He was given access to the mans rather extensive library and like a
fish in water, Ilden seemed rightly at home in his studies. When that man
died he asked of Ilden but one thing, he asked that that Ilden take his
name, Rokai, and bring to it glory and power. Ilden agreed, becoming Ilden
Rokai and vowed to achieve that distinction which his master could not.
