Description
Divine energy manifests around this small, quirky
figure in a protective aura of ethereal light as
it bathes his immediate surroundings in a the soft
rejuvenating glow of the sun. Dichromatic emerald
and blue eyes, flecked with thirteen blazing amber
shards, pierce his compassionate facade while they
subtly illuminate his youthful elven features. His
pointed ears erupt from the sea of blonde, tangled
hair that flails wildly as it crowns his head, the
unkept mess barely restrained by a weathered band
of leather. Lithe and slender, his movements are
a tribute to the grace of his kin while reflecting
a life that has been nourished by the light.
Vicious scars dance upon the exposed flesh of his
forearms, they appear to be created by the maw of
an enormous beast, the teeth marks clearly visible
between the flourishing scars left by the razor
sharp claws. The aura of light washes gently over
his lacerated skin, glowing softly while it flows
down towards a set of unblemished, delicate hands.
Flowing with the essence and spirit of compassion,
his dichromatic eyes twinkle mirthfully while they
survey the lands before him with a deep sense of
wisdom and understanding.
Role
The Sanctuary of Thirteen Saints
Added Fri Apr 7 08:10:43 2017 at level 40:
The Sanctuary is an ancient Temple, dedicated to Thirteen Saints who
have upheld the Virtues of the Light. Perched high in the Calandaryl
Mountains, it once served as a Beacon to those in Thera, the grand
torches glowing with an eternal flame that could be seen across the
realms.
But as time passed, the mountains became treacherous and the once holy
place began to fall into disrepair. During the Fifth Age the torches
crumbled and the eternal flame was extinguished, thus plunging Thera
into darkness. The once shining Beacon then became a place of solace
for the Monks who remained in reverence of the Saints.
While the outside of this sacred place appeared little more than an
overgrown ruin, the heart of the Temple remained beating, the great
consecrated sculptures of the virtuous were untouched by the passing
of time. Many pilgrims visited this holy place of worship, either to
pray to their patron saint or leave tribute at the foot of those who
had sacrificed so much in the name of the Light.
The Three Pilgrims
Added Fri Apr 7 08:15:15 2017 at level 40:
Illaeth followed his parents north, leaving the safely of Daryslon
behind them as they made their way into the darkened mountains that
lay stretched out before them. They were pilgrims, weary from their
journey across Thera but full of reverence and inspiration from the
twelve sacred places they had seen. Illaeth stared up into the night
sky as the clouds parted, revealing Thirteen stars that guided the
travellers further north and into the treacherous mountains beyond.
They shivered as the winds swirled around them, pulling their cloaks
tighter about themselves they marched with determination. In an Age
now passed, their path would have been illuminated by the Eternity
Flame that safely guided travellers and pilgrims to the Sanctuary of
Thirteen Saints. Instead they walked in darkness, wary of all noises
that reached their straining ears. These mountains were now known to
be plagued by undead skeletons and beasts of the night.
Suddenly they were startled by a wounded bear that erupted from the
looming shroud of shadow that had settled upon the eerie ground. It
was panicked and in a rage, bleeding heavily from wounds sustained
from the rusted weapons of the infernal skeletons. It came upon the
three pilgrims who found themselves between this enraged beast and
its passage to safety.
Awakening of Light
Added Fri Apr 7 08:16:39 2017 at level 40:
Full of horror, Illaeth turned his head to see his parents knocked
to the ground by the onslaught of this fierce beast. As the bear
began to set its vicious claws upon them, Illaeth wailed in misery
and protest. The sound broke the bear from its frenzy and it turned
its grizzly head towards the shivering child. It stood upon its hind
legs, brandishing its bloodied claws as it lumbered over to Illaeth.
The full height of the bear was intimidating, blocking out the dull
light of the Thirteen stars that strained to illuminate the sodden
earth. Illaeth froze, unable to summon the Courage to overcome his
grief and before he could blink the savage beast was upon him.
He threw up his arms as the razor sharp claws descended, lacerating
his flesh and knocking him to the ground. Swiftly he rolled to the
side, narrowly avoiding another blow from the enraged creature. As
the pain coursed through him, his consciousness began to wane and in
his desperation he sought solace in the depths of his spirit. Curled
defensively into a ball upon the bloodied earth he held his lacerated
arms before him as the frenzied beast approached.
What followed would later be described as miraculous. But within his
heart Illaeth knew that it was more than that. It was his Awakening
of Light.
The Orphaned Child
Added Fri Apr 7 08:21:29 2017 at level 40:
The monks saw a blinding flash of light blaze across the mountains,
turning the skeletons to ash as it surged forth from its epicentre
like waves of energy spreading out endless in the night. The Light
hung momentarily, revealing the tragic event that had occurred upon
the mountain trail. Swiftly they descended the mountain, rushing to
the aid of the ethereal child who lay unconscious upon the earth.
They brought him to the Sanctuary and dressed his wounds, covering
the Thirteen claw marks left by the enraged bear, they placed him
gently down to rest. Not a word was spoken during this time for the
monks knew the weight of the night's events. They knew that on this
night of miracles, an innocent child was orphaned.
Months passed and Illaeth grew up amongst the monks, learning from
them and the many pilgrims who came to the Sanctuary to worship the
saints. He delighted in these visitors, relishing the stories they
spoke of their lives and cultures. But mostly he spent his time in
solace, meditating beneath the various statues that had been carved
into the pillars of the Sanctuary and discerning the nature of each
of the Thirteen saints that were depicted within this holy place.

Illaeth entered the main foyer of the Sanctuary, he passed the great
statue of the storm giant with the twin blades acting like individual
pillars that supported the entrance. Beneath the majestic statue was
a stone tablet engraved with the name "Humbert Holdfast the Relentless
Dedicant." He continued past the foyer and into the courtyard where a
felar ranger guarded each side of the fountain, one with a staff and
the other wielded a glowing spear, they both held them aloft, creating
an archway in the middle of the courtyard. A stone tablet was beneath
each of the felar, "Arrashaw Darkpaw the Sylvan Glow of the Fortress."
and "Azhelak Tul'vharun the Cursebreaker, Wielder of the Spear of Purity."
He walked past the fountain in the centre of the courtyard where the
statue of the elven maiden watched over the the entrance hall from her
place between two gnarled trees. Beneath her bare feet was a wooden
bark inscribed with the name "Macha the Exquisite Enchantress". Illaeth
paused briefly at the fountain, cupping his hands and taking a drink of
fresh water. He wiped his hands upon his robe and walked towards the
luminous arch in the distance. He twisted his head slightly to the side
as he walked, meeting the tranquil eyes of an elven warrior who stood
behind the gnarled trees, the whisper thin scars upon his face revealed
in the morning light. A tablet of pure white stone sits beneath him,
engraved with the name "Xinrithil the Courageous and Bloodied Claw of
Baerinika."
He walked beneath the flaming arch as tongues of fire erupted from the
blazing statue of a regal, half-elven figure only to be defected by a
beautiful elven figure, a sword held slung over her back and a shield in
both hands as she defends the Light. Beneath their feet are two tablets,
one reading "Rhone Jendi the Awakened Fire of the Phoenix" and the other
reads "Mendecirith Ieayasu'olas the Heart of Gold."

Thirteen Saints Part II

Emotion washed over him as he entered the grand chamber, the high vaulted
ceilings was framed with stained glass as it filtered a golden light that
washed over the ancient chamber. The royal chamber was round, two figures
stood valiantly as they stood vigilant and eternal, guarding the entrance
from the darkness. On the side of the rising son was a tenacious warrior,
a look of fierce determination and courage written upon his youthful face,
the golden light reflecting off his shaven scalp. Beneath his feet was a
tablet formed into the shape of a diamond, scribed with the name "Avalusci
Lazeyva the Colossal-Hearted Combatant, Avatar of the Diamond." Upon the
side of the setting son, shrouded slightly by the shadow of the mountains
was a slouching figure, the scars and deformities clear as they cover his
unbroken, defiant form. Beneath his feet is a cracked tablet, the name of
"Ageryn na-Revre the Scarred Shadow Cast by the Holy Flames of Light."
In the centre of the grand chamber, bathed in the light of the sun as she
captures the essence of spirit, is the graceful form of a wizened elf. She
is adorned in tattoos and flowers, her long hair flowing gracefully down to
the centre of her back. She stares lovingly towards the scarred form of a
loving storm giant, seashells, urchins and barnacles covering his armor as
he holds his swords in a defensive posture, ready to defend the light. A
small raven is perched upon the tablet beneath the elven figure's feet and
the words "Andira Tar'Monaghan the Mother of Winter's Promise" have been
carved elegantly into the stone. A coral tablet stands before the massive
giant, the words carved upon the surface showing the name "Keara Taisteala
the Warrior of the Light."
Stepping around the giant harp and the tall sculpture of the half-elven
musician, his slight beard and weary eyes afire with love and affection as
he strums a soothing, healing tune. The base of the harp is large, engraved
with the name of the Acolyte known as "Belendithas Gellantra the Troubadour
of Remedy."
And then Illaeth found her, the morning light capturing the melodies that
weave about her graceful figure and illuminate the archon wings spread out
behind her. Since that terrible night upon the mountain and the awakening
of his Light, Illaeth found the most peace when he bathed in the nurturing
presence of this Patron of Healing. He sat down slowly upon the floor and
reached out to touch the tablet beneath her feet. He traced her name with
a glowing hand and whispered the name of "Lauraine D'Yoarhsa the Weaver of
Melodies, Beacon of Thera."
The Wandering Healer
Added Fri Apr 7 08:24:37 2017 at level 40:
Illaeth grew restless amongst the monks. He had spent years in meditation
amongst them, learning their ways and those of the saints. He had begun to
develop the perspective that even though he was an orphan, he was blessed
to be guided by the Thirteen Saints that contributed to preserving the Light
and love that nourished the lands. He had gleamed Wisdom from their amazing
deeds and virtue, but he knew that true Wisdom was gained by the experience
of living a life, not studying a life.
The time had come for him to leave the Sanctuary and follow his feet to upon
his own journey. He waited for the night and started out across the mountain
range, observing the same Thirteen stars that guided him all those years ago.
As he begins his journey the following traits should be noted:
1) Illaeth is a child of the Light, he was born upon the road and travelled
the world with his parents upon a holy pilgrimage. After his parents were
killed upon the mountain he was adopted by a group of monks who served in a
holy sanctuary. Between the monks, the pilgrims and his time on the road, he
has developed a love of people and different cultures and does not bear the
traditional snobby attitude that many high elves have. During his time at the
sanctuary he was named Illaeth Swiftheart, for his quick loving nature.
2) Illaeth was born under the Sphere of Wisdom which strongly affects his look
on the world. He believes that Wisdom is gained by the experiences one has and
immersing one self in other cultures. Because of this outlook, he is always on
the move, looking for new experiences, new friends and new ways to broaden his
world while enriching the lives of others.
3) Having awoken the Spirit of Light within him, he has been blessed with the
ability to heal the wounds of others. He still bears the Thirteen scars upon
his forearms from the frenzied bear, they have been incurable thus far due to
the grief and guilt he feels over the death of his parents. These emotional
scars drive him upon a quest to discover the various ailments that affect the
minds and spirits of others, a quest that will lead him down the path walked
by the Acolytes of the Golden Sun.
4) After his constant exposure to the number Thirteen, Illaeth has grown very
superstitious and has begun to seek answers for the calling on his life. He
is drawn to the Temple of Thirteen and the Zealots of Lord Whiysdan and will
seek out the Lucky Lord in hopes of discovering more about this mysterious
presence that has influenced and shaped him.

Just a quick note to say the role has now been deleted four times and added again. Let us hope
the hungry role bug has been satisfied and I don't have to enter it again!
Please Whiysdan, don't make me do it thirteen times... Is there anything that can be done to
stop this from happening?
