Description
You've found yourself in a dream. It's time to wake up, you've almost
convinced yourself. But before that happens, the elegant and
truly resplendent being that simply can only be an Elf, reminds the
subtle recesses of your brain that reality is here and almost within
arms reach! Before you can get to the beauty, in truth, you first must
get past the holy light shining around her person. From glowing and
magical armors, to a shimmering Mantle of pure Light that seems to dim
and brighten as it deems necessary.
This tall Elven being dims enough for you to see long golden locks of
silky, flowing, pristine hair so absolutely pure and refined that she
dares not tie, braid, or burden it with the embarrasment of fabrics.
This cascading waterfall of gilded splendor falls freely as it will,
but somehow never falling in harms way. Elven eyes blaze with magical
enchantment, but without magic they would be no less marvelous sapphires
filled with deep intellect, clear determination, and an unmistakable
gleam of pure whimsy.
Her full standing height is 6'4 but this is no ungraceful amazon. She
moves with stunning grace and composure. Even for an Elf, she truly
seems... Liberated. Or perhaps perfectly fluid. As if she has absurd
knowledge of her body, in particular. Her body is fit and obviously
well-traveled. A fair complexion and perfect skin attempt to hide the
truth of time, but it still shows clear in an odd way. It were like
she wore her age almost like an extra layer of skin. You know she's
a mature and aged Elf because she exudes wisdom and knowledge of lived
experience. Her dress attire is actually somewhat simple, in a still
dazzling way. She wears mostly pure white, accented with the highest
qualify of gold. In fact, oddly, she has some sort of golden ink
or paint on her hands even. One last curiosity. Where you would expect
her to smell of exotic perfume, all you smell is... river or mountains?
Role
Introduction
Added Thu Aug 3 02:30:04 2023 at level 1:
Darsylon was Ilythyrra's home for 150 years. She grew up there as a young
and 'gifted' Elf, along with two brothers and a sister. Her house and lineage
was mid-level among Elves. She and her family were well respected, but far
from royal. Ilythyrra lived a rather charmed life. Educated with the best
masters and scholars of the city. She enjoyed city life, but was less fond
of the rules and confines of Darsylon. She would often get in trouble and was
actually labeled a "class-clown" by one of her lecturers. She embraced the
title and still has a funny and playful side to this day.
Still, as noted before, Ilythyrra was somewhat bored with the life she had
found herself, and thus she said farewells to her family and friends and has
decided to make her way in the wide world of Thera!
Ilythyrra is an Elf interested in adventure and lore. She is a wanderer. She
has plans to explore far and wide. She plans to learn as much as she can. She
has read many maps and studied all her life to get out on the road and she's
more than excited to get to her journey. She plans to grow as she experiences
this new life. She will judge and weigh her experiences against the knowledge
she already has to find the correct path for her and her beliefs.
She will shun evil, and embrace the Light because that is what she feels inside.
Her heart and soul guide her to Azorinne, also known as the Golden Host. Ilythyrra
has been around for 150 years. In that time, she has heard the name and preachings
of this Golden Host, and when hearing these preachings Ilythyrra's heart
and mind were filled with inspiration and excitement. She knew Azorinne was
her light, and Ilythyrra plans to seek out Azorinne to pray and worship and
let the Goddess know how much Her teachings and preachings have meant.
In the long life Ilythyrra has already lived, she has seen many aweful and
foul things. Including darklings and others killing Darsylon Elves as she
took shelter inside. Hoping not to be seen. She remembers these days and feels
a keen urge to fight and make Thera safe for others of the light and even
other kindly races. She hopes to find a way to do more, in this regard. To
fight evil and see light shine bright upon the land.
Ilythyrra has become fascinated with the study and magic of Transmutation.
She has decided to channel her gifts into the study and mastery of this magical
art. She will work diligently with her guild and many guild masters to see
this accomplished. She is truly interested in learning more about her craft,
and it will be a large part of who she is and how she acts. She's a very curious
Elf, by nature, and that may get her into trouble.
Failure, Success, and a Goddess

Ilythyrra has grown, some, as a magus. She has attained her 17th title, yet, with plans
to attain more. There have been losses, however. When Ilythyrra was still fresh out of
the academy, she hired a mercenary to aid her in her fighting and travels. He was a human,
which is something Ily had never traveled with or studied up close before. During their
travels, in the Forest of Nowhere, the human died at Ily's side. She mourned the loss and
learned a lot from the death. She learned that her actions, however noble or well-intended,
can have horrible effects on those around her. Including allies. This is a lesson Ilythyrra
takes most seriously, and has reflected upon greatly. She and the human mercenary shared a
drink from a bottle of wine. A bottle she still carries for now. Drinking from it at certain
milestones and accomplishments. She plans to finish it someday, and perhaps by then she will
have mended the pain a bit.
The failures do not end there, for Ily also made a grave mistake while wandering the swamps
of Ysigrath. There she met a paladin. The Paladin was ill, and Ilythyrra handed him a sprig
that she thought would cure him. Instead, the Paladin dropped dead at her feet. She mourned
and prayed, as it was all she could do. She still remembers the poor soul's face as he looked
to her with disbelief and shock as his eyes went cold. Ilythyrra had let him down, and
though she was ignorant of the right sprig to save his life, she cannot forget the look in
his eyes. One of utter disbelief. She shudders every time she thinks of it. It haunts her,
still. However, Ily knows in her heart that it was a mistake. That she had never been in
that situation before, and made a horrible decision. She, thinking as a magus and as a
servant of Azorinne, could not let that break her. She learned from the mistake, and knows
what she did wrong. She will try to aid others who do not know the right herb. To see such
failures not repeated.
Ily has met many people in her travels, already. She has met the Captain of the Brigade,
several very important Paladin folk, as well as an Elven prist by the name of Celedyl.
Celedyl was a kind and gentle soul. A healer by trade. Someone who looked to mend blood
and bone and spirit, rather than destroy those things. It was Celedyl that gave Ilythyrra
the first Eclipse-marked Tome she had ever received. And he spoke to Ily of Azorinne's
divine will. Celedyl has since passed on, into Azorinne's arms, but Ily still remembers and
plans to carry his message of Azorinne with her.
Continued in another entry.

Hunting is a part of the life Ily has signed up for. As such, she has hunted a few darkling
adventurers with no success. Until she met an Orc who was intent on killing commoners. Ily
confronted the Orc and fell once to its tricks. However, upon her second chance to stand
toe-to-toe with the Orc, Ilythyrra was successful! She met the Orc in equal combat on the
streets of Voralian, and put it down with holy light and a mithril dagger. When it was all
over, Ily couldn't stop shaking. Not just from her magic, but... all that blood...
After a visit to Lady Azorinne's holy altar, Ily was able to shake it off and find some
small amount of pride in her actions in defense of the commoners of Voralian. She took time
to reflect on the impact she had made on those people's lives. And now she's prepared and
ready to continue the fight.
In all this adventuring, growing, and fighting, Ily has also managed to find her Lady
Azorinne's holy shrine. Ily was praying there, when the Lady Azorinne showed Herself. Ily
was awe-struck, obviously, and took a moment to adjust herself to speaking with one of the
divine! The talk was absolutely wonderful and Ily came away with a good understanding of
what Azorinne wanted from her, as well as aspects of Azorinne's religion that she can and
will give great thought and reflection. The meeting was extremely fruitful, and Ily even made
her precious Vow to Azorinne. Swearing it upon Lady Azorinne's Altar. The Vow, for now, is
between Lady Azorinne and Ily. Unless Azorinne deems otherwise.
For the future, Ily's main goal is to follow Lady Azorinne's religion to her best ability,
while making sure to always live up to her Vow. Ily also plans to reflect on the tenants
of Judgement, Justice, and Mercy. Looking for meaning within meaning.
Ily also plans to continue growing. Not only in her guild, but also as a student of magic
as well as a well-traveled explorer.
The Maran Tara'Bal has felt Ily's pledge, and she has been bloodied by combat. Ily plans
to seek a Squireship of the Fortress of Light.
Lastly, Ily will continue to fight wicked adventurers in order to defend those of the
light, as well as to continue testing herself and her abilities. She must be ready for
the struggle to come.
Vivimancer of Azorinne
Added Tue Aug 22 06:42:50 2023 at level 37:
Ily has been busy studying and growing, lately. Her mind focused and ready
for the challenges and struggle still to come. She has been given a chance
to Squire for the Fortress of Light. It is a duty she takes most seriously.
She does her duty, such as slaying wicked creatures, but she has tried to do
more than just that. She has reached out to young goodly folk, and made their
journeys easier in many ways. She has spoken of Lady Azorinne to as many as
will hear her words. Handing out Eclipse-marked tomes when able. She has
donated to the poor and homeless, often leaving gifts while still in another
dimension. She does this because her goal is not only to be a killer, but to
be a true ally to this world and its goodly folk. By bringing much more than
just death and blood. She will continue to aid the young goodly folk of this
world in knowledge, equipment, spells, and anything else to make their lives
brighter under Lady Azorinne.
Sadly, when Ilythyrra was traveling with another magus who focused in Conjuring
magic, Ily tried to heal a creature that she did not fully understand. A holy
angel. This being, though good in every way, did not trust Ilythyrra. As such
the angel viewed Ily's repair flesh spell as an assault. Before she could
stop it, the angel attacked her. Ily tried to escape what she knew might be
the outcome of such a failutre. But she could not. The angel died. And Ily
felt the burden and pain. It has pressed on her mind ever since the event. She
plans to speak with Lady Azorinne, and ponder some sort of pennance. It's
painful, to say the least, but Ily can't just give up. She has learned from
her mistake and will not use such magic on those who are not allies. She will
continue forward, begging forgiveness and mercy.
Lady Azorinne blessed Ilythyrra, once more, with her presence. They had more
time to talk and learn more of each other. Ilythyrra tried to keep her curious
mind from embarrassing her, but she couldn't help but try to find out more
about the workings of a divine body and mind. From a Transmuter's point of
view, it's almost irresistable!
Beyond that, Lady Azorinne has asked Ilythyrra to find a way to use her
sorcery to aid Azorinne and Her will. Which was perfect, as Ily had already
been working towards just that! You see, Ilythyrra has uncovered a path to
Vivimancy. Vivimancy, as she has studied, is magic guided and aided by Light
and the Sun. Vivimancy focuses on life-giving forces.
Ily's main goal is to uncover the art of Vivimancy, to further Lady Azorinne's
Light and Will.
A Worthy Path
Added Sat Aug 26 03:12:29 2023 at level 41:
Time has been kind to Ilythyrra. As she has aged she has had the proper
divine inspiration to reflect, carefully, about herself and who she has
been her life outside the city she used to call home.
It seems like not much time has passed since I last put word to page, but
on the contrary, Ilythyrra is practically a completely different person
now than she ever was before. Time can work funny like that. Especially
when, for an Elf, youth can be hundreds of years.
Now, with proper time for reflection and no small amount of frustration,
Ilythyrra can say that when she left Darsylon, she wasn't only walking
a pious path to service. In truth, she had out-grown Darsylon. She was
'gifted' from a young age. As much as she put it to the back of her mind
or just ignored it, she was out-pacing her peers by leaps and bounds.
Ily just had the gift for spells, school, and social life. She had
full mastery of things that took other Elves lifetimes to achieve, by
the time she was a teenager by human timelines.
Yes. Now that she can admit it to herself. Yes. She was bored. If she's
being perfectly honest, she almost ran full-speed out the river pathway
she was so ready to face... A challenge.. Something to keep her on her
toes and break the daily shows of high Elven society, which at its
heart is special in a historic and very meaningful way, but in another
way is absolutely maddening if you live in it day after day when your
so-called teachers are teaching you amateur parlor tricks and the most
important topic an everyone's mind is which dress wow'd everyone at
the latest gathering of high society.
Yes. Ily wasn't a saint who just had to throw her life to service and
duty. However, it should also be noted that when she was faced with
such boredom and intellectual frustration, she still chose to channel
her energy and efforts in a holy and worthy cause.
Enter the Vow
Added Sat Aug 26 03:53:02 2023 at level 41:
It's true that Ily sought adventure and intellectual stimulation as one
of her reasons for leaving Darsylon. However, she did also hear the
preachings of Lady Azorinne during her long life in Darsylon, and that
minor bit of inspiration and curiosity led her to the most important and
impactful event of her life. By far.
Ily took the time to seek out this Lady Azorinne who had risen her spirits
once or twice in the past. She wasn't being insincere when she showed up at
Lady Azorinne's shrine. Ily did want to know more. And as Ily learned
and listened, she truly FELT the divine inspiration of Lady Azorinne, The
Golden Host.
Learning the unspeakable tale of Azorinnes rise to divinity, and then to
look upon the divine Lady Azorinne in the flesh. It was more than enough
to truly speak to Ilythyrra. Azorinne was a victim. Most, if not all of us,
would have exacted some revenge or punishment for what She was almost
subjected to. And for whom others were not so lucky or blessed. Instead
and with all nobility, Lady Azorinnne forgave them without hesitation.
While also wholly and completely binding them to their shame and cruelty.
Judgement, Justice, Mercy. These words and their meaning began creeping
into Ily's mind at all times of the day or night. It wasn't maddening,
it was... Inspiring! Captivating!
Judgement: Using one's intellect, experience, and will to do good or will
to see good done. Use these tools to make the correct, or most correct,
decision possible in every situation, if at all possible... Which is the
ideal objective even if ultimately unachievable.
Justice: Should Judgement not be an available option or should a situation
be so heinously out of hand, that taking the time to use judgement would
actually (ironically) be bad judgement. You SHOULD have the internal fortitude
and strength of will and duty to take effective and possibly permanent
action to see this situation brought back to goodly and light-approved
status.
Mercy: This took Ily a while to get the hang of. Mercy states that all
people are worthy of forgiveness and should be allowed to seek the light.
It further means that as you go about looking for goodly and light-approved
solutions, look for times to exercise mercy and leniency. Including, in Ily's
opinion, giving to the poor.
These thoughts are Ily's thoughts on Lady Azorinne's tenants. Not to be
confused with Lady Azorinne's own words.
Enter the Vow pt.2
Added Sat Aug 26 04:32:38 2023 at level 41:
With her thoughts on Azorinne becoming more and more of her focus, Ily found
herself making a Vow to Azorinne. Swearing to it on holy ground, no less!
Ilythyrra did not know, at that time, what it meant. It, in all honesty, was
Exactly the Vow Ily wanted to make. But she didn't think it would impact her so...
Positively!
Ilythyrra was telling her honest truth when she made the Vow. Therefore she
has put concious time and thought into keeping it. As a result: She's living
her best life! Well, as much as that can be done chasing and being chased
by wicked horrors.
By keeping her Vow, which she Absolutely will, Ilythyrra has seen a noticeable
increase in morale, drive, focus, and inspiration. She's happy to wake up and
be with friends, or adventure. And yes, often, hunt the wicked as it is one
of her most important and necessary duties.
With her far more 'in control' Ily has been able to focus her attention to
keeping to Lady Azorinne's tennants. As well as finding and learning of
other ways to bring Azorinnes Light to the people of Thera far and wide.
As Lady Azorinne has inspired Ilythyrra to be the best version of herself,
Ily has come to the decision that she wants to be more than a pure hunter.
Not that she's going to give up her duty as a Squire, no. The duty of Squire
and perhaps Maran, one day, is something Ily finds very important as well.
In keeping to the promises she made to herself and the goodly Elves of Darsylon,
all those centuries ago, Ilythyrra will see her duty as a member of the
Brigade out until it's all over and finished. However Ily can hunt,
exercising proper and holy Justice, when necessary, and also provide something
real and absolutely Good to the people who need it most.
As discussed in a previous chapter Ily has chosen to focus much, if not
most, of her time and studies towards the difficult and largely misunderstood
art of Vivimancy. In the previous chapter, Ily had just barely started her
journey towards this new science, so she wasn't quite sure how, if, or
what this might be or look like. However, she's had a long time to think,
research, test, and act. And now she has a Really good idea of what she wants
to do and be as a practicing Vivimancer, or Biomancer. She's not fully
clear on the distincion at the present time. But that's a part of the challenge!
Ily has already learned to be precise like a vivimancer, which has shown
very promising results. Not only for the art of Vivimancy, but also as a
Squire of the Fortress. Ily believes that Vivimancy being influenced by
the sun is a big sign that she's headed in the right direction in service
to Lady Azorinne. Ily can already heal some wounds, organs, and bones which
offers True relief and Mercy to any who will seek the light. Truly seek it.
In time, she hopes to become an Arch-Mage, focusing in Vivimancy. Who knows
one day, she may unlock greater powers like reincarnation or ressurection.
Proper Perspective
Added Sat Aug 26 05:07:03 2023 at level 41:
Yes. Once the Vow was made, everything else sort of fell into place. Ily
has spent Centuries working towards Lady Azorinne's will. From taking time
to support the homeless and beggars of the cities. To passing out Eclipse-
marked tomes to anyone who seems to be unsure or in need. To aiding young
goodly folk make their way through this world. All while, in her opinion
at least, staying true to her Vow.
Adding the art of Vivimancy will give Ily the proper inspiration that
she's doing all she can to live up to Lady Azorinnes high standards.
As a hunter, Ily can solve specific problems. Sometimes, if you can believe
it, the service of delivering Justice to the wicked isn't even appreciated.
Even rarer, you'll be happy to know, Ily is even shunned or critisized
for doing her duty!
But as one who heals and regenerates!? Ily feels very very confident she'll
be able to be a proper vessel for spreading and maintaining the light.
While also staying true to her duty as Squire. Perhaps even fighring out
new and more effective ways of issuing Justice. As far as Ily can tell,
no one has tried this path before. She's extra excited to try and blaze a
new trail into new, inventive, and possibly world-changing magic.
With that, Ily turns her attention to the future. Ily has adventured and
studied more places than, likely, most of those who call themselves 'peers'.
Ily has grown and learned so so much over the years of adventure, failure,
and success. She is truly grateful to the hardships and challenges she's
faced on her, often, poorly thought-out mishaps and deaths at the hands
or claws, or spells of the absurdly powerful creatures, demons, and otherwise
of this wide world. Her studies, travels, experimentations, and curiosities
have not been without a cost. But she has seen such Wonderful things! She
has had a unique experience and chance to challenge herself in some of the
most violent and unfriendly places in the literal world. She made sure to
challenge herself in this way, to force her to become stronger, faster.
Where else can one learn proper reflexes and situational awareness than
wandering the tunels of Mortorn as but a spell student. Or taking on Dragons
literally the size of mountains while still learning mid-tier magic. She HAD
to be better, or she would be dead by now. She wanted all of that said so that
she could say: As such, she plans to continue pushing herself, her endurance,
and the limits of her magic by adventuring and taking calculated risks for
knowledge, and to be truly prepared for what's still to come.
Ily has still been troubled by some of the goodly people and beings she
could not save, or impacted poorly. She's thought about what she, a wizard
could do to make amends, and nothing is perfect. She has decided to go with the
most direct, and actually helpful way she can think of. She will, very soon,
be giving out the first of many scholarships in honor of those she failed.
Proper Perspective pt.2
Added Sat Aug 26 05:26:57 2023 at level 41:
Yes, that's right. Ily will be choosing a young, good of heart, soul who she
chooses on a basis of observation, talks, and possibly events or actions. She
hasn't figured the entire thing out just yet, but she knows the rewards will
be truly meaningful to the life and development of the young goodly soul.
She plans to use a bard to send a missive alerting the lands of the choice and
scholarship. She still hasn't figured out what to name the scholarship and
some other sall details. The name will liekly have Lady Azorinne in it, though.
It's a safe bet.
With proper work being done in the name of the fallen, Ily plans to begin work
on a project that she doesn't know how will turn out. In short she plans to
build, over time, her own laboratory of sorts. She wouldn't want anyone to know
of this, though, so the location remains clear of these pages. Still she's proud
of finding this spot, and she likes the people in her immediate chosen
location. She plans to do conduct research and experiments there, and ultimately
see what all she can do and get away with down there. All to further Lady
Azorinne's light.
As you can imagine, all of these activities and high hopes are going to cost
a very pretty penny. Well Ily's already thought of that! Ilythyrra has always
felt kind of... Lucky... For lack of a better word. She doesn't like to believe
in that sort of thing, but... She's seen too much to ignore. So. Ily has journeyed
far and into very dangerous territory to secure a very old and valuable treasure.
She plans to use this uncovered treasure, and her own good fortune to gamble
herself rich! And that's how she plans to support these projects. Also she will
use some proceeds towards the war, as well as donating of course. Gambling,
in Ily's eyes, isn't bad if the vast majority is going to helping people.
Ily plans to continue her studies into Vivimancy's possible uses in delivering
proper and due Justice to those wicked adventurers who are in need. She
plans to find out if it is viable for such a duty.
Ily plans to one day earn the position of Maran. She has been working diligently
to try to achieve this high high esteem. Ily is not a warrior, though. So she
didn't expect to do something so difficult the same way a warrior or paladin would.
She'll earn it as a magus of Transmutation and Vivimancy. Which takes
time, effort, and study.
Lastly, Ily plans to continue watching out for, adventuring with, and aiding
her friends that she's made along this journey of hers.
Pinnacle
Added Sat Oct 14 18:34:45 2023 at level 51:
Ilythyrra reached her pinnacle some time ago. Her pride and jubilation at achieving
such an important goal was short-lived. Life at the pinnacle of her guild has been hard
and she has struggled. She has tried to be the beacon of light that others can look to
for guidance and inspiration. And in doing so, she has found herself at the end of her
rope, so-to-speak.
As she reflects, looking out at Lady Azorinne's resplendent mountainside, she regrets
very little. Only her mistakes and short-sightings that cost goodly lives. The rest
she feels very very proud of. She's made Amazing discoveries. Seen spectacular things.
She has had time to test and discover more about her magic, and about herself. She
has made Wonderful friends, and seen many grow and blossom. She's proud to be a part
of something so meaningful. She has tried to bring enjoyment to those around her. And
she feels she accomplished that. Some of Ily's adventures, she'll take with her even
into the afterlife.
She has worked, in her way, to spread the light of Azorinne. Not only to the poor, of
whom she has donated to and tried to aid as best she could, but also to those directly
around her. Her allies, friends, and acquaintances who have given so much to her. She
has tried, dearly, to give back to them. Through adventure, advice, wisdom, knowledge,
coin, or trinkets. She wants them all to know how much fun they were and how much they
meant as allies and friends. Most notable are: Erorm, Ryfin, and Bazz. But there are
others.
She is proud of her work, as Avowed. She feels, Absolutely, that she has kept her Vow
to her Lady Azorinne. Ily feels that she has led by example, and made as many correct
choices as she could. While always looking for ways to improve, and never making the
same mistakes twice. She's NOT perfect. But she's proud of the young ones that she
has counciled, or helped, or given the Lady's tome. Ily is proud of her judgement as
she has grown within the Lady's religion. She can say, honestly, she was always trying
to be better and to find a way to spread Lady Azorinne's light.
Now, as she looks ahead at the most likely and far too-soon ending, she has made the
choice to try to Hold On as long as she can. She Likes her life and living it. She
still has many things she would like to do and see. And she still feels she has a part
to play in this world. And unfinished business, so-to-speak. Her goal, now, is simple.
She can't pretend like she'll be around long enough to see some of her more ambitious
goals come to fruition. She has decided to simplify her life.
Her goals, as long as she teeters on the brink of death, are to stay alive. To
continue to spread Lady Azorinne's light as best she can while staying alive.
To continue to uphold her Vow to her Lady. And to enjoy herself.
