Description
A slender man with a sinewy musculature keeps a
moderate distance and barely a sound arrises from any
step taken. Slightly tanned, ivory-toned skin, and an
unblemished visage reflect little light. An amalgam
of different materials are used as armament,
lightweight metal, leather, and a few gems seem to be
priorities. Oceanic eyes flash from under a drab
looking, hide, which has been draped over his body
like a cowl and robe. Several small bulges protrude
along his back, eluding to concealment of something
underneath the grey hide. Glinting slightly is a braid
of matted hair, entwined with leather and a small claw
which attaches it to his waist.
The last discernible detail is that..
Role
Tribal Origins.

As a nomadic tribe the Nav'Akee are a peaceful people.
We live our lives in balance with Thera. Hunting,
fishing, sustaining our way of life, are all viable
trades among our customary professions. There is no
discrimination from a man to a woman. Whichever person is
more physical tends to lean toward hunting or defending
the village and those whom are less so, toward gathering
and more domestic needs. This is how it has been for
generations and as far as we all knew, it would be this
way forever.
Defending our way of life from intrusion, wild beast, and
violent invaders was part of my responsibility as a
tribal warrior. On occasion we'd have to guard those of
the tribe which went out gathering if their task was
hazardous. Most times, our tasks were simple,
fulfilling, and a source of moderate pride. If at times,
bear or boar, horned half-beasts, or the occasional orc
did surface, then we did our duty. Each and every one of
our lives were soon to undertake a great change.
Violently inflicted with infection, our men and women
came back, injured and ailing. An unforeseen force they
called it. They described the happenings in detail,
while upon their outing, they were camouflaged and
stalking a beast to sustain us. One after another, while
trying to blend into their surroundings, they felt faint,
sickly, and the herbs they gathered only made things
worse. As the herbs were consumed, it felt as if their
insides were aflame. Nothing in the realm of normalcy
could explain this distressing sight.
Knowledge of Consequence.

Not a solitary soul among the tribe was familiar with
such atrocities. Carrying the sick and wounded before
the tribal shaman, we prayed for their revival. As they
each passed from this life, unto the next, his trance
grew more deep and in tongues he spouted for us to scout
the area. We all rushed to complete the task and after
arrival at their hunting grounds, we discovered the
habitat was quite abnormal and seemed very wrong.
In the early afternoon we arrived, a storm brewed
overhead. As we inspected the foliage we inscribed notes
of the inconsistencies with the surrounding flora, each
were detailed on vellum. Crashing down nearby was,
violently energetic, "Red" lightning. Surely this wasn't
part of the natural world we thought, but we would return
all the information we found back to our medicine man.
The hopes and dreams for redemption and revenge for all
of our tribesmen lied with our present task.
Dawn was nearing it's precipice as our trek had finally
come to an end. Quickly the tribe was called to meeting
and all the scribed notations were conveyed to the
shaman. Again he entered a frightening trance. Inside
the mind of this man, brewed the power of the gods,
channeling these energies was his specially. His eyes
fluttered rapidly and a glow which matched the crimson
bolts from earlier flickered, he mumbled two words
repeatedly. "Magic, Betrayal" trailed from his lips in
ever hastening rapidity.
Resounding Meaning.

"Magic, Betrayal" these are two minuscule words. They
insighted fear and panic throughout the tribe. It wasn't
long before those driving forces encouraged us to go out
in search of more information. We of the tribal defense
were quick to volunteer for such an unusual task.
Splitting into two groups, those who stayed to defend the
tribe and we who strove to find answers to what happened
to our people. With fortune's smile, we'd soon find some
answers to the plight that ailed us.
Cities and refined settlements were our primary targets
of investigation. None of our tribe used magic without
blessing and these people should know about it, they whom
have forgotten nature, we thought. As we all scoured the
libraries and guilds of the major cities, we discovered
the truth. Magi, wielders of magic without blessing,
once gathered into a great house, but were betrayed
seeking yet more power, becoming the Scions. Many magi
weren't among them but still strode unsupervised around
the lands freely.
The conclusion was self evident in my eyes. At the same
time this discovery surfaced, those who opposed this
atrocity against nature were also uncovered. The "Battle
Ragers", the enemy of magic and the betrayed. My
decision wasn't faintly taken but actions speak. Words
mumbled by the shaman echoed throughout my thoughts as I
made my peace with my decision and traipsed off, on my
own. We is no longer, my journey is now beginning.
Cultivated Perseverance.

The Nav'Akee tribe are a robust people who make an
attempt to live in an ever-changing harmonic with nature
by following our nomadic roots. To avoid harming the
land, we would often shift our lodging from one local to
another. Sometimes we were even forced to. We revere
the awe-inspiring forces and power of nature. The most
respected and honored force of nature, to us, is the
mighty and ferocious storm. Sometimes we were well cared
for by the storm and it's rains but at others, we felt
forgotten. However, we always remained mindful of all
that took place and the ever-evolving scope of the
biosphere.
Lean times, full of despair, hunger and longing were few
and far between for most of our lives. At a young age we
were taught to make due with anything salvageable from
the hunts. No parts went to waste if they were useable.
When during the times of great drought, these occasions
were more plentiful and often forced the tribe to move.
We of the Nav'Akee seek to instill perseverance in all of
our people so that the tough times do not demoralize our
spirits.
Aside from the animals that we hunted and killed, those
like myself, who were more physical in nature, were also
taught the consumption of our sentient enemies. It was
always said that if strength was sought then consume the
arms and legs of the fallen, if tact then it was brains,
but the courage and determination resided within the
heart. At times, a memento like hair, beads, or claws
would be taken and used in the formation of a standard or
totem to be worn as a charm in remembrance of the past.

The tribe of BattleRagers, a conglomeration of men and
women from nearly any walk of life are now our chosen
people. Inside the village walls walk drow among
dwarves, the elven among duergars, each of us having
their own reason to take up arms. We are a tribal unit
like no other. Each division within the village serves
their role, much as the Nav'Akee people do. Setting us
apart is the rich and long heritage of all those who have
come before us and the traits that are idealized in each
of us.
Our Defenders, like myself, are few in number but strong
in spirit. Xazzax, a spider bitten drow, serves as
mentor to us and teaches tactical instruction along with
priority. Somewhat pompous but methodically detailed are
these teachings. As yet young members of the tribe,
development of a highly skilled repertoire should be
among our goals. Learning to bandage effectively, to
exact all herbal uses for our poltices, and quick
blocking blows during combat, these are the teachings of
the Defender and the battle tools of our trade.
As each of our people hail from different locals across
Thera, and we all have unique systems of belief. For our
commander the traits of Courage, Strength, Wit, and
Intelligence are those which make up her "Ideal
BattleRager". It is understood by all that some of these
ideas change in name but their roots always remain. As
part of the goal, sat before myself, evoking
determination and raising tribal moral is top priority.
These principles, harped by our Commander, help us all so
that in the times of our passing, we become a part of the
illustrious history.
