Description
A short stout human stands before you, cloaked very loosely in a black
leather travelling cloak that looks covered with grime from many travels, the
loose cloak attempts to hide the deformity that sits riding high upon his
shoulders. A large hump as though he kept a large pack strapped to his back,
the hump forcing his posture forward stopping down low to the ground as if
kept in a constant bow. His head held forward to see what lay ahead, a scalp
that seems to have never seen hair, still shiny as light hits its conical
shape the pale skin looks almost yellow and diseased.
His eyes, so peering out at the world darkly the long dark bags that hang
below them only deepen the brown within the whites of the eye yellow at the
edges that swirl about as his eyes move over the landscape. A nose that looks
to have been half eaten away either by disease or animal, cut off at the end
to make it snout like. His lips seemingly formed into a constant snarl with
pointed brown and yellow teeth piercing the grey snarling lips.
The rest of his form is hidden from view by the large billowing cloak, though
his hands you can see are just as deformed as his head and face, the skin
plagued by disease covered in scab and scars some still oozing blood and
puss. The long bony fingers extend from the sleeves of his robes grasping at
some hidden object before him.
Role
A Dying Man

As you enter the small room, the windows hidden behind think curtains casting
shadows and darkening the room so there is eternal night within. Lit by a
lone candle that rests upon a simple wooden table beside a ramshackle bed
that is set upon a constant lean to one side the occupant propped up by
pillows to keep him even. Tufts of hay are visible beneath the mattress at a
lame attempt to make the occupant comfortable.
As you approach the bed, the occupant looks up at you. Laying on his side you
can see the pain in his expression the blood that is spattered upon his cheek
and chin. This man is dying.
Empty brown eyes look at you, sightless though the ears still prick up at the
sound of your footsteps upon the wooden floor.
A hollow hoarse voice croaks out at your approach
I was awaiting your approach, the weather kept you longer than expected.
But how you wonder, did a man blind and crippled in bed know that you would
be coming?
You are here, for my death. The Maran. . .such simple ideology, so lost in
the fog of illusion. Before you end me so I might join my father, let me tell
you of my life. So you might at last break through the illusion of Light.
The Tale Begins
Added Sun Jun 6 18:50:05 2010 at level 30:
You peer at the man in total pity. Succumbed to the dark ways of his life,
his body broken and torn, this man is no threat to you? Great warrior of
Light, Maran. You sit down, perhaps to learn the ways that led this man to be
so dark to commit such atrocities. Perhaps this could be a way to end the
war?
You lean forward closer to the man resting your elbows on your knees prepared
to listen to his tale.
Coughing heavily into his hand, you notice blood ooze from in-between his
fingers, once the fit of coughing had ceased it sounded as though he chuckled
lightly to himself though you disregard it as a muffled cough.
My name as most knew me was Isarbin NerIkram, it was the name I chose to be
reborn as. For a long time I lived within the fog of illusion that you do.
Unknown to me were the truths of the world, I was as impure as any other.
That is until the Father found me.
From the moment I was born, my form was cursed. Cursed with deformity, and
weakness, yet blessed with a keenness of mind that was unmatched. Nearly
unable to walk even at the age of ten, all I could do was watch and dream. I
grew bitter as I watched the other children, I saw them laugh, love, grow,
hate, fight. While all I could do was watch, always watching. . . .
This is how the first truth was revealed to me. I saw betrayal, I saw pure
hate, I saw the purity of what is man. Men whom prophesise goodness, simply
betray themselves they cut themselves away from their core feelings, they are
no longer true to themselves. This war you Maran. . . .This holy crusade! A
war that only delves you deeper into the fog of illusion, I ripped it away
from so many. In the life that you are tied to, if the fog could not be
penetrated if your core could not be shown to you. Then your ties must be
severed and the fog of illusion destroyed.
Dreams of the Father
Added Sun Jun 6 21:40:19 2010 at level 30:
I am sure you wonder. . .how did I learn of the Father, of the Ruby Scarab?
He chose me, or perhaps I him. As I found my way through the fog and finally
saw the purity and truth in the world and all that remained were the great
Father, and I.
I felt lost in life, unable to act upon anything I could not walk, I could
barely sustain my own life. In slumber I found myself dreaming. The same
dream, each day, every night without fail. I was within the greatest fog you
could imagine you could not even see your feet should you look down. I
wandered through the fog for years, unable to penetrate or find any solution.
I found myself waking and not knowing if I was still in the fog or finally
awake.
When I neared maturity, in a dream that forged my life, I was walking through
the fog as I do in each dream when finally I noticed it thinning. You cannot
imagine the excitement that exploded within me finally I might find reason
the answer of why these dreams constantly plagued my slumber.
As I left the fog that I had felt so lost in, I emerged into darkness. I
turned around and no fog remained. Only the dark.
It was then when a voice echoed. It was as if the darkness itself was
speaking directly into my mind! It said
Awake my child, for too long you have slumbered.
Before me rose the symbol of a ruby scarab and then images and knowledge
flooded my being and consciousness.
They were of the path that lay before me, which will lead me to him, the
Father, my Father!
The first images were of what must be done initially, to begin my instruction
in the guildhall of Conjurers, my body is broken so I will call upon those
whom will make up for my lack of strength with their own.
The second were of a great Mausoleum situated above a mighty River, the
Mausoleum of the Ruby Scarab.
Meeting with the Father

Waking from a short respite the dying man grins at you, blood caking his nose
and chin from the coughing fits that consumed him during his slumber.
Ahstill wanting to hear the next part of my story friend, so it shall be
told to you. As I rose through the ranks and my power grew many fell before
my minions as they still waded in the fog of illusion and only death could
save them from it.
I finally found my Lords ear amongst his Mausoleum. During our talk, he
found me worthy to wear his brand. It was a most thoughtful blessing for he
found me walking the true and pure path so that I might bear the Ruby Scarab
with me, and walk in his name with his blessing to bring awareness to Thera
so that all shall know that the Scarab has returned and realise the truth of
the world.
You would do well to heed the words of the great Father.
