Description
Before you standing is an average sized man. He is broad of shoulder and the
complexion of his face is very dark; not of sun and weathering, but almost
natural ebony. You almost suspect him a dark-elf but a fine, thin black
mustache lays split above his upper lip. A narrow band of braided leather
holds his hair back from his face, a face that seemed to be made from stony
planes and angles, but unlined as if to belie the strange silver streaks at
his temples. The tell-tale signs of drow are upon him, but you now suspect a
half-race. Icy blue eyes hunt around you for some hint of what to do next.
He never seems to blink as you notice the firm grip he holds onto his sword
as vascular muscles stay tensed on his arm. Some pieces of his armor shine
brilliantly while others take on a look of age and master craftsmanship of an
age passed.
Taking another glance at him in your peripherals you sense that. . .
Role
Life in Seantryn
Added Tue Feb 2 13:49:37 2010 at level 13:
Isemon was born to a rich merchant family in Seantryn. He had a mother and
father who were very well known in town for being successful in ship trade as
well as in Seantryns wide market of wares. They managed to receive a cut of
each transaction by ensuring protection of profits. The power their wealth
brought also came with greed. Other merchants despised the way they operated
and undermining was a common thing to be heard around the Dragor dinner
table.
When the Royal guards came to tax the citizens, the Dragor family was always
at the top of the list. One several occasions the family was invited to the
Palace for lavish meals and talk of business in the lands. On one night in
particular, Isemon discovered something very exciting.
Manual of the Blademaster

While excusing himself from the royal table of the Seantryn hierarchy, Isemon
accidentally wandered into the sleeping chambers of the legendary
Blademaster. It was upon a candle-lit desk that Isemon found the ancient
manual, but it was also the beginning of a new Strength Iseman set himself to
master.Within the manual were listed many different sword forms with
illustrations and techniques.

..*Order of the Macalla*
..-Art of Sword Forms-
Apple Blossoms in the Wind
A versatile technique, intended for use against an ambush by multiple
opponents. The blade is held low, but ready for use in a number of strike
forms. Keep loose and move slowly.
Boar Rushes Down the Mountain
A vertical slash, but one that can alter course in midswing quickly. Starts
high and ends low.
Heron Spreads its Wings
The operational version of Heron Wading in the Rushes. A tighter cut,
concentrated in one sector of the arc of the sword.
Lion on the Hill
A basic guard stance, with the sword held at shoulder height ready to move
into a variety of other forms.
Lightning of Three Prongs
Beginning from a basic stance like Lion on the Hill, a thrust that can either
continue as a thrust or slash to either side. Can also be used to parry.
Parting the Silk
A more controlled slash, probably used as a precision block or strike.
Directed at the abdomen, a good move to draw first blood or inflict nonlethal
damage on an opponent.
Thistledown floats on the Whirlwind
A short-range jumping spin-swipe, used for beheading. Best if done by
surprise. An opening move in most cases. The sword should not move more than
a foot or so; the main force is provided by the spin of the body. The blade
should not extend too far out from the body, and be approximately chest high.
The Strength of Knowledge

The words and images made such an impact on Isemon that he felt a dangerous
act must be committed. Steal the Manual from the Notorious Blademaster. If
it was a matter of coin he knew his parents could give just compensation, but
he knew the Blademaster wouldnt hand the manual over. The man has not had
an apprentice for as long as Isemon knew of. What would happen if he was
caught? It would be the last and only criminal act he would make, and he
would turn over a new leaf, once he had the manual. He was only about
fifteen years of age at the time, and the adolescent thought of becoming a
Blademaster was all too enticing. Then, an epiphany came to Isemon. The
Shipyard. Hes been there plenty of times and once his parents even allowed
him to take a week long voyage to Hamsah and back. He knew Hamsah, and he
knew he could make it on his own. Hed had an allowance since he had been
born and the coin purse was getting a bit heavy. It was settled in his mind
that he would run away, with the manual, and disappear into Hamsah. Ducking
back into a hallway before the dining room of the Palace he shoved the manual
down the rear of his pants and returned to the table. When he returned home
that evening he wrote a note to his parents and disappeared into the night.
An adventure awaited him. One that would lead to his faith in his own
Strength and the might of an Empire.
