Description
This half elven man appears a bit different than most half elves. Having a
darker skin tone makes him appear almost of drowish descent. He has more of a
darkened stubble than an actual beard but it suits him. Gives an air of
weariness of the world that fits the scars on his face.
Well muscled though it seems there are few scares to be found on his body.
Which makes the ones on his face somewhat odd. He appears to be roughly 6
foot with a rather stocky build.

Jaane's Rebellion

Jaane was born in Hamsah to his wood elven father and human mother. Even
though their home was there they rarely spent time within the city. Most days
he was out hunting for food and furs. They would then trade them for gold to
buy what they couldn't make themselves. The only time their family ever
seemed to have issues is when they couldn't sell enough furs. Always relying
on their income to keep them going. As he got older he hated to see his
parents struggle so against their wishes he would join pirating vessels to
help them.
They were always upset with him when he went out to sea. Most
times being gone for six months at a time. Everything was always easier
though when he came back with a decent share of gold. Unknown to him the
Imperials were the reason his parents were always hort on gold. His father
had apparently been an indentured servant that was paying off his debt. They
had no intention of ever freeing him as they asked more and more money each
week hoping he couldn't afford it. Everytime he failed to pay more time was
added on.
Eventually they had enough gold to pay off his debt completely.
They waited until Jaane was out to see before bringing the gold to the
Empire. It was only about 30 gold but it was more than they have ever had at
a single time. The Imperials were outraged knowing they had to uphold their
deal.
They quickly thought of a plan and had an imperial shadow rob them as
they were filling out the paperwork. Accusing them of trickery once they
noticed the gold was gone. They were shackled and brought to their dungeons
to await a trial.
When Jaane came home he found out about his parents trial
only to get their to find out they had been executed. The worst of it was he
found it was over only 30 gold. Momentary madness overwhelmed him. He snuck
into the imperial palace stealing everything he could. He brought it to the
town of balator and spread it to the people. The first raid was exactly 30
gold. The second 60 gold. The third 120 gold. He kept going and going until
he felt he couldn't find any more gold. Eventually rumors started spreading
of his rebellion against the Empire. He had become a folk hero to the people

of Balator some carried small statues to honor him. All of this he hated
unendingly as he wasn't doing this for them. It was his way of taking away
what the Imperials cared about more than anything just like they did to him.
Eventually the Imperials framed him for a crime in Balator where he was
confronted by the guards. The people gathered around defending his honor but
he knew that there was no way out of this. They had seven archers aiming
arrows at him. Almost daring him to make a move. Suddenly a push sent into
the crowd followed by a blood curdiung scream. He looked to see a teenager of
roughly fifteen riddled with arrows. All he could think of was how foolish
the boy was. How everything that had happened was his own fault. Unlike his
mind his body was focused on the task at hand. He disappeared into the crowd.
Racing toward Hamsah to escape but could he really escape all this?
*To him gold is freedom. It may not be able to buy everything but it sure can
buy a lot to change his life.
*Gold isn't treasure to him nor is it something he values above all else.
*He treasures people above all else. Knowing the inevitability of death and
the true value of life.
*He holds a closeness to nature due to his upbringing. Mostly his father's
influence on him.
*He has zero respect for the law believing it is self serving only to those
who uphold it.
*He intends to join the Fortress eventually but is reluctant due to his
criminal nature.
*He regrets the death of the teenager a bit more than that of his parents. He
loved them deeply but their deaths weren't directly his fault.
*He hates the idea that he is considered a folk hero. All his life he has
been fighting for all the wrong reasons. Most of which have been for himself.
He sees it as completely opposite of who he is. Deep set self hatred.
*Generally gruff and not entirely mean but doesn't like other people too
much.

Jaane had to flee away from Hamsah as the Imperials found his home. They
burned everything to the ground and according to the guards it was an
accidental fire. Moved to voralian in hopes of staying outside imperial
reach. Found out a few weeks later that his old pirate crew had been
murdered. A letter came in the mail with his captain's ear.
He blames himself for everyone dying like they have and the loss of his
childhood home. He is starting to drink more often hopefully it doesn't turn
into a habit. Keeps talking way too much. Seems to be turning people away
but he is trying to about the silence. The just reminds him of just how alone
he is.
Feels guilty for killing Eybaen because he understands the pain of having
Imperials destroy his life. He killed him because he had to make a choice to
give him some gold or merifully end his life. He couldn't bring himself to
give away the gold to someone like him. Even if he seeks redemption.
