Description

Arcane energy manifests around this primitive figure, rippling beneath his scarred ebon flesh as it courses through an intricate web of veins with a dark, primeval power. Fierce and crazed emerald eyes, flecked with blazing shards of amber, pierce his harrowed, tortured visage as the two mingling bloodlines of his past create a depiction of strength and malice upon an ebon skinned canvas. Thick, tangled hair falls from his head before being bound in bloodied sinews torn from the beasts of the wilderness, black and ashen as it frames his face. He moves with the elegance epitomised by the drow, although they appear to be enhanced and strengthened by the primitive magic that rages in his veins. A bloodied cloak of wolf-hide hide dances upon a torrent of mystical energy as it wraps itself around this tortured huntsman. It appears to be sown from the flesh of various wolves, an onyx clasps engraved with a single rune fastens the mysterious cloak around his form. Vicious runes have been etched into the scarred flesh of his strong forearms. They appear to be devouring the surrounding light while cloaking him in an aura of darkness and despair.

Returning to the Dimension

Shedding the disguise of the Lamb, he slipped his 
tortured form into the dimension for the first time
and began to revel in the malicious hands that had
mercilessly sculpted his past...

Being born a half-breed in his primitive village,
he was forced to serve the whims of the Pure. They
treated him with disscontempt, his singular purpose
was to be tested and forged into a weapon to do the
bidding of the Drow. Once the offerings were of age
they were sent into the wilderness to live amongst
the wolves for seven risings of the Moon. Few would
return to claim their place amongst the people, the
wolves were rabid creatures, frothing at the mouth
as they hungrily devoured those who wandered through
the misty vale.

But Jakhu was born with an advantage over those who
braved the gnashing maws of the beasts, inheriting
a small link to his Father's primeval magic, this
time amongst the wilds would prove enlightening to
him, his tribulations would redefine him as a true
Huntsman of the Beast.

Awakening of the Hunter

The mists swirled around them as they dispersed 
amongst the wilderness, trying to ignore the howls
of the wolves that echoed through the defiled vale.
Strategy was important here, there was no rules to
adhere to. In the wilds, you simply had to Become.

While the others fled into the depths, Jakhu began
to transform himself into the Hunter. He uttered a
few enchantments he had perfected, strengthening his
form and enhancing his mind. His eyes became flecked
with amber as they began to pierce the Fog. With a
blunt staff he began to assault the rabid creatures,
praising the Beast with each thud and relishing the
blood that soaked the sodden earth.

As he sanctified the blood, he was filled with a
euphoria that came with the infernal presence of an
unknown entity and a better understanding of his own
Will.

Taking a knife to the corpses, he hacked viciously
at the bludgeoned wolves and crafted himself a cloak
of wolf hide. Throwing the bloodied cloak around his
shoulders, he turned his crazed eyes towards the sky
and began to hunt down the others of his tribe.

Attaining Enlightenment

As the last fell limp to the devouring earth, Jakhu
raised his staff to the darkened skies and howled at
the eclipsing moon. It was then he felt it enter him,
the infernal entity that had fuelled his bloodshed as
it granted him clarity to his own Self.

Blackened flames surrounded him, searing his flesh as
thick runes appeared upon his skin. They began upon
the backs of his hands before entwining themselves in
an intricate pattern around his muscular forearms.

And as swiftly as the flames had come, they were gone,
leaving behind an incomplete map that would guide the
tortured Huntsman to his own enlightenment. And thus
he began his search for the Great Wild Beast and his
own inevitable enlightenment.

Factors to note:

Added Tue Dec 27 04:40:19 2016 at level 36:

1) Jakhu was born under the sphere of Destruction. It
guides his path to enlightenment, the more profane he
hunts down, the swifter his marking will grow and thus
reveal his true Self. Although he takes pleasure in 
each individual hunt, his eradication of the profane 
is simply a metaphorical pathway to his ascension. He
believes that he can destroy those aspects of himself
and be left with his Pure Self.

2) He has taken the last name Wolfbane to resemble the
awakening of the Hunter. He also wears a bloodied cloak
of wolf hide to symbolise the fact that he is wolf in
these lands, no longer the slave or a lamb he once was.
While he does not respect the sheep he also reserves an
intimate primal rage towards those who enslave the Will
of others.

3) He views the Fortress of the Light and the Village
of Magic Haters as rabid wolves with no Will. These are
sheep parading as wolves in these lands and he will take
great pleasure in bringing about their Destruction. In a
similar vein, he despises races inherent to the Light as
they seek to bind the foolish to their ideals.

4) He shares a small kindred with the Nightreavers of
Thar-Eris, or at least those who prove themselves worthy
hunters and have embraced their primitive Self. Perhaps
they will be worthy companions as he seeks out the Great
Wild Beast. He will pledge himself to their cause as he
continues down the path to his own enlightenment. That
being said, he will have no qualms in hunting down those
who dare obstruct his true path.

5) Whispers flood his mind when he passes the Temple of
the Ruby Scarab. The Gargoyle that guards the pit often
haunts his dreams and causes his to ponder what may lay
ahead if he ever achieves his noble goal. Or perhaps he
may instead lay waste to the impurities that have taken
root in the once holy place.

Enlightenment

Added Fri Feb 17 06:28:08 2017 at level 40:

The tortured Huntsman knelt down upon the sodden earth
as the blood of the Dwarf slowly drained from the barely
discernible remains. It had been many seasons since the
Huntsman could recall the mortal burden of thought, his
Self merging completely with the Beast as he was instead
overcome with the desire to shed his skin as he embraced
his true, primitive nature. He lived only to satisfy his
urges as he kept the Beast sated with desecrated flesh he
left scattered in his wake.

But as he pressed his dishevelled face into the bleeding
flesh before him, he was engulfed with a dark, chromatic
flame that burst from the writhing black tattoo that had
leeched his essence to nourish itself.

The runes shimmered with despair as the tattoo formed an
arc across his soiled forehead before viciously burning
themselves into the flesh. The Huntsman howled in anger,
throwing his head back into the night as he roared in a
furious protest of his latest torment.

As he lowered his head, his gaze pierced the mist as his
two flecked emerald eyes were joined by a third, blackened
depiction that had emerged from his inner darkness as an
eerie tribute of his own enlightenment and awareness of 
Self.

Turning his ragged head from the feast before him, he was
plagued with whispers coming from the depths of the Temple.
These Outlands were beyond salvation, this world was all
but burnt. There was one place left for his primal rage,
and it remained within the embrace of his Father.
