Description
A skanky and disfigured little creature is here, pale orange
skin just barely visible through a caked layer of dirt and
grime. Its elbows and knees are peculiarly twisted so that
its gangly limbs jut out at unnaturally bent angles, and its
bantam figure is severely hunched. Its neck seems to be oddly
closer to its right shoulder than to its left, and it holds
its head at a slight left incline as if to balance out the
disproportions. Its face is flat and near devoid of notable
features excepting the black, beady eyes that shine as if they
were covered in a thin layer of film. Two long, pointed ears
stick out from its head, which is bald and dotted with rufescent
scabs.
Role
A series of mishaps

Jashazi's early life consisted of little more than a series of accidents.
She was born on the cusp of the Day of the Great Gods to a high-ranking
goblin matron who did not know she was pregnant until the infant came.
This mother, known throughout the Grinning Skull Village for debauchery
and openness to perversion, was appalled at the physical deformities her
child's limbs were wrought with, and in an ill-disguised attempt at
infanticide dropped the baby on her head several times.
Jashazi's mother did not succeed in killing her offspring, but the goblin
child was left with a twisted spine and crooked head that would never fully
heal.
Several months after Jashazi's birth, a freak lightningbolt struck the village
and, in one of nature's unpredictable catastrophes, started a fire that ran
rampant through the village. Jashazi's mother died early on in the chaos, but
somehow in the tumult someone grabbed the infant and hoisted her into
the cover of the slave pens.
After the fire was put out and relative calm was restored, no one remembered
where the deformed child had come from or where she was supposed to be. A
single unimportant yet unequivocally loud orc yelled that since she was in
the slave pen, she must be a slave.
And so Jashazi became a slave.
Goblin at war

The next several years of Jashazi's life were calm as far as they go.
She served the orcs faithfully, was beaten frequently, and quickly learned
to cow in submission. It was during this time that she developed the
deep-rooted beliefs that the orcs were more intelligent, stronger, and
generally superior to her. Although she would never realize it, Jashazi
took these beliefs and transformed them into envy, working her whole life
to be as smart and fierce as she thought the orcs were.
An unforeseen opportunity -- if one can call such happenstance opportunity --
arose soon after Jashazi reached her 16th birthday. Unbeknownst to the
little misfit, an orcish hunting party was forming whilst she was coating
the Grinning Skull pathways with a fresh coat of dung. With unceremonious
shouting and infectious rage, a horde of orcs rushed out into the streets,
sweeping the unsuspecting goblin into their midst.
Jashazi found herself running with them to avoid being trampled, knocked back
and forth between the sweaty limbs that jostled her from side to side. She
tried to elbow her way out, but the bodies seemed to enclose tightly around her,
trapping her within their ranks. Someone shoved a crooked spear into her hands,
and before she knew it the horde was outside the village gates and surging
towards the nearby dwarven settlement.
The orcs started screaming out crude battlecries, and even though Jashazi
couldn't make out the words over the din of everything she yelled too, the
intoxication of warfare creeping into her soul. She raised her spear above
her head and rushed forward, not knowing where she was going or why she was
yelling, only that she must.
Her high spirits plummeted when a rock caught her exposed foot and sent
her sprawling to the ground. Losing grip on her spear, she watched through
bleary eyes as it soared through the air, its metal tip at last coming to
rest in the exposed shoulderblade of an elderly dwarf.
He stood still for a moment before gently collapsing to the ground in
almost comedic slowness. At last his head hit the ground, and their eyes
met.
Jashazi saw life in those eyes. In the brief moment of their meeting it was
as if Jashazi could know that dwarf's memories, feel his pain, hear the
whispers of his family wondering if he would come home that evening.
She also saw hatred in those eyes. This dwarf despised her, was disgusted by
her people, and wanted death for her and for her clan. Jashazi scrambled to
her feet and pulled the spear out of his stringy flesh, repeatedly thrusting
the weapon into his body with more fervor than she knew she was capable of.
After battle

Back at the village that evening, the goblin warrior Chooltog pulled
Jashazi away from her slavely duties.
"Saw gobby kill dwarf todays," Chooltog said. "I teach gobby how to
fights real goods."
Jashazi was busy picking at one of the ever-present scabs on her bald
scalp and had not heard what her elder said. Assuming that he had
demanded she bring him some food, as was common, she absentmindedly agreed.
And so the little goblin became a raider.
The stone that changed everything

Despite her self-proclamations of greatness, Jashazi is neither particularly
smart nor strong. As a matter of fact, she wanders through life cluelessly,
with an attitude so inattentive and spontaneous that it is a wonder she doesn't
get herself transformed into a pile of bones. She doesn't always understand
what is right in front of her, and her thought process is so limited that she
is hardly able to grasp the idea of consequences.
Because of this, the crude little creature was completely unaware of the
significance of the moment she found herself face to face with the High Priestess
of Zurcon, Brianna. Jashazi could not foresee getting entangled in ancient
rituals that she knew nothing about -- all she knew was that Brianna asked her to
find a gemstone, and that as an admirer of shiny things she would be happy to
help. She had no intention of joining a dangerous and little-known religion -- but
she could not allow the High Priestess to think of her as weak, so after Brianna
turned on her she tracked her down and bested her.
It was only then that Jashazi began to grasp what Brianna was offering her.
Entranced by the idea of gaining power for her and for the clan, as well
as ruining an elvish plot to imprison the Demon God; yet still unaware of
the full implications of doing such, she agreed to take on Zurcon's mark --
and so she became a disciple.
