Description

A being of ominous size stands proudly in front of you. Thick locks of deep jade fall loosely around his broad shoulders. Youthful eyes serenely gaze around the surroundings, yet no lack of prowess is evident in the violet spheres. His creased brow dwarfs a small nose, and a clenched jaw outlines a tight-lipped facade of dedication and passion. A certain alertness emanates from the massive ivory frame, adorned by silver armors of noticeable use. He hefts a mighty poleaxe in his hands and two shafted axes appear strapped across his back.

Role

A Broken Blue Ocean.

Added Mon Aug 27 22:08:21 2007 at level 40:
Traveling the Aryth after visiting the jade elves, Jeidi returned home.He
did not understand the strained hellos and fleeting eyes and found himself
frustrated at the lack of response, thinking his village disapproved of his
time in Hamsah (for he had not yet visited since joining the Outlanders).
His heart became angry and hard as he brooded over this, hastily making way
to see his Juneh.

Grief poured over Jeidi as though the waters of Thera were emptied upon his
head. Few words passed between those involved, masking the hollowed hearts
of the gentle storm giants. At a terrifying height high within the Tahril
range rested a simple marker. It was here that Jeidi and Juneh often joked
of fishing the sky, the blazing stars within such easy reach as the sun faded
behind to the west. It was all that remained yet would never be lost.

The Death of Love.

Added Mon Aug 27 22:06:58 2007 at level 40:
The storms of life bring about unforeseen, often tragic, events. This one
was no different.

Long ago, as a boy, Jeidi pledged his love to Her, the daughter of a
neighboring farmer. It was an honest and true love, deep as the ocean and
pure as the summer sky, and obviously meant to be. Even the village accepted
it, awaiting the union of Jeidi and Juneh. He visited his love often after
leaving for Hamsah, encouraging She who filled his heart that their time
together would soon become. It would not come in this life.

Juneh and her family visited the Desert City early in the spring, delivering
a harvest of seaweed to the Apothecary. While wandering the marketplace of
Hamsah, Juneh's younger brother took what was not his, for he only knew the
open friendliness of the village. But in Hamsah, the punishment for stealing
is death delivered by the vigilant hand of the Blood Tribunal. And for
Juneh, the punishment for aiding a marked criminal, regardless of intent,
also is death. It was a very dark day.

Thar-Eris Stirs.

Added Sat Aug 18 11:48:23 2007 at level 30:
Many days passed until a peculiar missive reached Jeidi. Scribed by the
Outlander Jutunn, it told of Thar-Eris and the stirring of the Ancients.
Jeidi empathized with Their discontent, his travels revealing the spoiled
decay brought upon by civilization. He understood how They wailed against
the pain of spoiling the earth while also equipping Their adherents to combat
this plight.

It was the Sunwarden, an elf named Xinrithil, who revealed the path Jeidi
longed for. The young storm giant spent many moons reflecting and searching
his soul for a decision, eventually welcoming the peace that They initiated.
Jeidi joined the Outlanders, throwing aside his boyish desires to pursue a
cause that mattered more than the spoils and glory of Hamsah.

Wanderlust.

Added Mon Aug 6 19:19:44 2007 at level 25:
No longer a fledgling giant lost amidst a wanderlust of opportunity, Jeidi
has done well in making his way in Thera. He earned a room in the Desert
Lion, the guildhall of warriors in Hamsah, even progressing in his training
to learn his first specialization. He also has ventured to many obscure
locales in his travels such as the Arkham crypts, the forest past,
Tir-Talath, and the bustling city of Galadon, encountering both dubious
figures and kind friends along the way.

Unfortunately for Jeidi, he even crossed the Empire, Subjugator of Nations.
After a tiring day of battling trolls in the forest past, a band of Imperials
laid ambush to Jeidi and his party, assailing them without word. Jeidi fought
bravely before finally succumbing, giving his companions enough time to
escape from harm. He told his guildguard this tale but he just shook his head
in dismay, mumbling something about how the 'Sultan does as he can against
the vile clutch of oppression'.

The Guild of Warriors.

Added Sat Aug 4 14:53:42 2007 at level 19:
It was Hamsah that first captivated Jeidi. A bustling city easy to lose
one's purse, even one's life, within. But Jeidi quickly found his welcome
in the guildhall of warriors, directing his young strength and eager spirit.
He enjoyed the physical testing in sparring in the Academy, eventually
gaining his bearing to adventure the Theran lands.

Jeidi never could have envisioned such a diverse and dangerous world, though.
At times, he envied the perfection of the sea, the balance of natures
provision and care even through the terror of the storm. Thera proved
absolutely unlike his home. Factions warred over strange ideologies, darkness
roamed rampant, cities and empires ruled with a martial fist. Jeidi quickly
learned how delicately balanced life hung on the blade of a warrior.

Leaving Home.

Added Sat Aug 4 14:52:35 2007 at level 19:
Jeidi Yahsrief did not like his life. He was born a mere coastal giant near
the Tahril mountains, farming the reefs and shepherding the oceanways of the
mighty Aryth. This was his father's life, and before that his father's
father's life. He knew exactly what to anticipate for the rest of his days.
Family, work, and storms. But Jeidi did not like his life.

It was not anger or dismay that motivated Jeidi to eventually leave his home.
He loved them dearly, even loved the small tribal village central to his
life. But he yearned for the freedom of the open waves, the warmth of the sun
awing him from afar. Jeidi felt he could do something magnificent and
inspiring, something bigger than a life of tending to the sea. He left behind
his life. His parents, apprehensive and worried. His friends, envious and
supportive. His village, doubting and skeptical. And most of all, a girl,
beautiful and lovely.
