Description
A tiny deep gnome stands here before you, coming up just shy of three and a
half feet tall. His skin is the color of granite, stone gray and mottled and
gnarled with the hazards of a hard life. His arms and visible skin is
pockmarked with scars, some fresh, some quite old. Despite this he walks with
the gait and stride of a confident warrior, with his head held proudly ahead
of him. Pale white hair is thin and wispy, floating freely above his light
gray face. His nose is squashed, resembling a button, and dark gray eyes peer
out from his monotone visage. He has block-like teeth when he smiles, and
thin lips when he does not. A collection of weapons and armor is about his
person, although all is well taken care of. He has the makings of a beard,
thin and straggly, hanging down from his chin as well.
Role
Jerrler Rockworm: Beginnings and Inspiration
Added Fri Jun 15 04:30:55 2018 at level 51:
Jerrler Rockworm was a young and promising svirfneblin guardsman. A student
of war and history from the beginning, as most svirfneblin and gnomes care
intimately about such academic pursuits.
He formed his own opinions early on. Enjoying the natural way of rocks, and
not understanding why Lower Cragstone needed to employ enchanters or rock
magi to augment the Underdark, create elementals, or what have you. To him,
the stones were flawed and perfect all at once.
He eventually was a member of the Svirfneblin border patrols. They dealt with
rockworms, the rogue cavefishers, vagabond dark-elves, and various dangers of
the Underdark. However, he became jaded. It seemed like every other week
there was a report of one of the enchanters causing self imposed wounds to
his comrades. A collapsed cavern here, a rogue earth elemental there.
Finally, disaster struck for Jerrler's own patrol. An enchanter caused a
cavern to fall on them as they attempted to subdue a rockworm. Jerrler and
the mage were the last survivors and Jerrler grabbed his swords and
decapitated the enchanter then and there. This was the last straw, he
decided. The mage wasn't even necessary. He and his men could have easily
dealt with the rockworm in traditional fashion.
Panmorne and the Village
Added Fri Jun 15 04:35:06 2018 at level 51:
Jerrler, as previously mentioned, was a student of history and he knew about
Thera's origins and after that incident was filled with a furious bloodrage
to exterminate magic and magi from mortal hands and place it back where it
belongs, in the hands of the gods.
He had been trained early in bladesmanship from Lower Cragstone, but he felt
that axes complemented his newfound ferociousness. So, strapping his blades
and axes to his person he ventured topside to join in the War against mortal
magic and magi.
In time, he found his way into the Village and also found religion through a
couple of chance encounters with Panmorne. He was not previously religious
but he adored his chats with Panmorne so much that he eventually desired to
become a pupil and study under Panmorne's tutelage. He believes that by
studying under Panmorne he can become much more effective in his quest to
finally win the war against mortal magi and magic.
