Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 01

Jhelruk at is very core is an extremely self concious, self
doubting person. But it is the way that this manifests itself
that is perhaps the most interesting part. I am sure if Jhelruk
was making these notes he would tell you all about how he is
the greatest, the strongest, the best at well you name a feat
I am sure Jhelruk has made claim to besting it. These delusions
of grandure I feel can only in the long term be viewed as
destructive. However this is not the only cover Jhelruk uses,
comedy seems likely the greatest shield of all. The jokes if one
can call them that are simply woeful, and if such was the
equivalent of a shield, it would be one with spikes on a trip
wire facing the user at the ready for instant death from the
slightest of blows. Regardless of this there seems to be a sense
of pride in these actions and as a fighter, I have no doubt that
his foes count him as an idiot, and while they may be right, if
these ploys result in guard being let down I can only think that
there is a hidden intellegence behind what he is doing, which
both fascinates and scares me.
While this is perhaps the first of many, as always with these cases
I only wish they had found me sooner.
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 02

I have seen little reason to try research Jhelruks past, I truely
believe the family name given to me is nothing short of another lie.
It is a difficult task when trying to determine if what you are
being told is another defelection or if there is some truth to it.
This matter was far simpler tho, he is so tight lipped when it comes
to discussion of his parents, I hope in time he opens up on these
matters but for now I suppose we focus on his guild. There is a sense
of pride in his decison and according to Jhelruk it was a simple one
to make. He is the best Lumberjack, Carpenter, Knife Thrower, Javlin
Tosser, Whip Cracker ... Well you get the point, and with all these
exceptional abilities where better to show them off than the Warrior
Guild. And in his own words:
"Sure I could have been an Assassin, and rare at that a Duergar Assassin
but I said to myself Jhelruk, do you really want to limit yourself to
Swords, Daggers, Spears and Staffs? Hell no! Besides hiding in the
shadows is for nancies, and I aint no nancy, I'm a skullcracker and one
of the finest you will ever see! Hrm the finest you will ever see!"
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 03

Finally he has let something slip, the importance of title seems to have
been instilled in him by his father. There was a strange distance in the
way he spoke of his father almost as tho it was a possession more than
anything else. Its hard very hard to put my finger on just yet, but there
is definately little remours for the loss of whatever relationship they
had regardless of that being distance, death. And yet I am struck that
there seems to be an impossible standard he may never reach. It makes
some sense now as to why he became and Imperial, his actions really do not
seem to be becoming of one. However its the title, the beam on his face
when he told me he was the quickest elevated bloodoath in Imperial history
according to him anyway, Bloodoath to Imperial blade in the blink of an
eye. I to be honest am unsure if he will survive in the long run, but
it will be interesting to see how far his lust for title and his blatant
ability to twist the truth and lie will actually get him.
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 04

Well there goes Mr Idiot, proudly displaying the puncture wounds on his
neck, he freely offered his neck to a Vampire. When I showed my distaste
they simply struck back.
"Yes I let a Vampire bite me so what? I can take it, think that weedy
little bite is going to do much to me? Tell you this tho for a time that
was the nastiest damn Vampire I have seen my blood coursing through it.
Killing things with a single blow it was. Mean bastard!"
With that he reached a hand up to his still weeping wound shrugged a little
"So I'm still bleeding a bit, still strong as shite I am nothing gunna hold
me back!"
It was here that things started to link together somewhat more, every action
he takes is one of him either:
- beating his chest so he can proclaim how great he is
- manipluating others regardless of standing
- brushing things aside with a terrible terrible joke
I cannot help but have a feeling of remourse as I truely believe he will never
know much in the way of friendship, each that crosses his path simply pushed
underhim as a means for a stairway to a higher point.
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 05

I must admit to myself here and now that my last set of notes and claiming
Jhelruk is Mr Idiot not overly becoming of one of my profession. I let
frustration get the better of me and for a moment fell into the trap of
becoming judgemental rather than helpful. My primary frustration is I simply
feel well I did feel that I was a pawn in his little game. My sole purpose
not to actually help but to be an outlet for justification. I guess similar
to a priest who takes confession from a sinner or has no plans in anyway
shape or form to change, but simply wishes forgiveness and the passage of
forgiveness is somehow an enabler to continue the same behaviour. Else why
would forgiveness have been given if the behaviour was truely unforgivable.
But today, today I saw the glimmer of change and an engaged mind, indepth
discussion was held on the impact that Rilora has had on him, specifically
the Imperial and Tribunal inquisition that followed. Rather than an accounting
of victory of the victory against the unsurmaountable odds against him, he
instead discussed on lessons learnt from this encounter, and that his own
impulsiveness at that time was not the correct time nor the correct place.
On its own I would have my doubts but he also spoke quite passionately of the
arts asking me many a great question on sculpture, paintings and so forth. Such
is simply a small hobby of mine but none the less an extended interest outside
of himself for me shows that change may just be starting to happen.
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 05 - Addendum Part 1

As Jhelruk slowly clooses the door behind him, he reaches a hand towards the
heavy bulge in his girdle. Hand is met with a satisfying jingle as one hundred
and twenty gold coins shift in response. A large grin starts to spread over the
Duergars face as he thinks back on the events that got him this money.
...
Despite the many many witnesses Imperial and Tribunal investigation alike both
came up with the same conculsion. Jhelruk was innocent of the Crimes claimed.
However it is what happened after this that was most fascinating for Jhelruk.
His name still fresh in The Provosts mind an offer to defend the Spire was made
and by offer payment of Twenty Gold coins was made. SO Jhelruk defended the Spire
against some ranger, these fights went on for quite some time. The Ranger never
really gaining much ground, but not falling to Jhelruks maces either. More from
frustration in this than anything else Jhelruk simply wanted to ranger dead.
So continued this fight well past point where payment really had any form of hold.
With the ranger escaping one last time Jhelruk retired to guild where a further
payment of one hundred gold coins was made.

Getting his coins to sing once more Jhelruk begins to step from the door he had
closed a calulating grin creasing his face. "Now thats good buisness, almost good
enough to turn a man down the straight and narrow.
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 05 - Addendum Part 2a

Jhelruk stands before a large slab of stone nine feet tall and six feet along the
sides of the base. He holds a large mallet in his hands, two chisels one ending in
a point and the other with a broad flat edge are held within two leather pouches
attached to his belt. As he climbs to the work platform he turns his head from the
stone, peering towards a well light area with the stuffed form of a black panther
its head twisted to an unnatural angle. Selecting the broader of the two chisels
he peers back once more as he lifts them to the top of the stone. He stands motionless
for some time before lowering the chisel leaving it on the upper platform as he
climbs down and walks towards the panther. Turning towards the stone, he crosses
his arms infront of him as he lifts his right leg to rest upon its head. He stands
motionless unmoving for what seems like an eternity, before climbing the platform
collecting his tool and turning his head once more to the animal hide. He raises
a chisel towards the hide and closes one eye, taking in minute detail, before
lifting the instruments towards the head of the stone once more. Just as before
he stands motionless finally muttering. "This is not going to work."

The Artistic Triumph of the Empire!
Jhelruks intrest in Art really is extremely shallow, is there interest? Most certainly
as long as the subject of the art is himself. Naturally the only person fit to
commission for this work is Jhelruk himself. If you want a job done right and all that.
The time of other "consultants" he will call them is just that "consulting" time just
you know to rough out some of the finer points. And when this day of the Gods comes
and Jhelruk wins soon everyone will be admiring a statue of himself. He of course
wont be foolish enough to intially let this be known if ever at all, sometimes its
the simple pleasures of hearing passers by comment in admiration on the subject of
that statue. "Oh! He is quite the handsome brute!" the ladies would say. With a smile
on his face he wanders off, a quick doubletake in his step as he mumbles "Time to find
me a stone mason."
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 05 - Addendum Part 2a

Jhelruk stands before a large slab of stone atop a scaffold approximately five
feet tall, the top of the stone clearly starting to take the shape of a head. Moving
back a little he closes one eye and squints through the other before moving forward
with chisel and mallet in hand. He lifts chisel towards the eyesocket and as he moves
mallet ready to strike a single word echoes through the work hall.
"STOP!"
Quickly turning Jhelruk faces a small diminutive pale gray figure peering up towards
the stone. Frustration clearly on his voice Jhelruk questions
"What the hell is it now?"
The figure looks towards him in a mixture of both frutration and fear.
"The angle of your chisel its all wrong, if you want to pop that eye out and have
it role along the ground so be it, but if you will just let me ..."
"NO! Every stroke, every strike will be mine. The perfection of this by my hand."
The figure slumps a little while muttering something under his breath before picking
up a wooden chisel. Stepping towards a block of wood he holds it at a shallow angle.
"Like this, and small strikes, feather it we are making delicate changes. Small mallet."
Jhelruk turn backtowards the stone peering over his shoulder as he adjusts his chisel
waiting for a nod from the figure below before he begins to make small controlled
strikes.
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 05 - Addendum Part 2c

Jhelruk stands before a large statue, staring at it for what seems an eternity, laying
on the ground is a large pile of armor. Reaching his hands towards the stone he casts
hand over the rough surface, rounding the back of the statue his hand falls into a large
gapping hole in the statues back. He galnces towards the stool at the back of the statue
and climbs into the inside the statue, he turns inspecting the catch mechanisms, each
interconnected so that only the exact right combination of movements will release the
chestplate. Satisfied he climbs back out, turn to the armor on the ground and begins to
dress the figure. Before placeing the chest piece on, he lifts a large slab of stone
loops set into the back shield facing inwards, and locks it into the second stage. He
peers towards the cutout, smiling with how well the rough cut hides it. Gathering the
chestplate, he locks the front and rear together, the rear overlapping the stone cutout.
"Never know when that might come in handy."
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 06

I have to admit, there is something different about Jhelruk today, to be honest its
been so long I was surprised to see him in the first place. There was a nervous
well even moreso than in the past energy about him. The conversation never really
took any one clear direction, statues, a war of words, fight after fight. The
descriptions of the fights are fascinating, like a Battle Royale. And everything
and anything seems to be involved, Ladders, Tables, Wolves, Sharks ... How in the
hell can there be wolves and sharks, I did press on this but a minor detail it
seemed brushed to the side. And who was the victor in all of this Jhelruk was
ofcourse and if not all the time certainly alone he had the greater sum of victories
than all his foes combined. I still dont understand why he is here, by all accounts
well according to him there is nothing wrong, its as tho its simply to appease
someone or something else. Either way there is something I am stil missing perhaps
my intial thoughts that this process is simply and means to offload and justify
some of the things he does.
Also of note the 4th claim of family name was made today, the dancing around his
past particularly his childhood shall take time to crack it seems.
Jhelruk - Closing notes

Its been many years now since I last saw this duergar, I can only
assume beside the brief initial flurry of appointments that he
is doing much better and on the straight and narrow. I have heard
whispers of Elite Blade and even War Master. I would hope that the
rapid succession through these positions will not be as rapid a
decent down from them. To be honest I dont know why I make note of
this now perhaps just closure for myself.
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Session 06

Bingo! There it is just as I think and hear of progress it has all
been unraveled in record time. Indeed it was true the Duergar was
War Master, and likely the shortest reign I have ever heard of. I
guess atleast not Anathema, but according to Jhelruk he was simply
too good at what he did and a threat.

A stoic determination keeping the Codex in its place
And a snide remark on not being oblivious and deaf
Naturally he has been replaced by an Idiot, the anger on his voice
as he discussed the current War Master trying to retreive with
weapons of Wrath from the Fortress. The War Master leading himself
to death and those around him except of course one. The J-Man as
he called himself quite proudly mind you.
I dare not press much further today on the next thing, today he
mentioned his father. I noticed a letter in a pouch attached to his
breastplate. Comfortable he let things slip that his fathers
prediction of disapointment was coming true. This was stopped abruptly
instead muttering a few words on the Emperors days being numbered.
I have suspected for a long time now there is more to his abitious
target of raising Oath's. Perhaps building an army of his own what
I would give to be a fly on the wall to witness what some of these
musings and dealings are.
Jhelruk - Psychiatry Sessions Ended

Jhelruk stands over a slim figure wear glasses amongst splinters
of shattered wood. A door which has been split in two by a solid
blow, half of which hangs at an angle still barely attached to
its hinges. His calm exterior has been replaced by a twisted face
his eyes on the verge of welling in tears.
"Where the hell is it? YOUR BOOK! Who the hell have you showed
this to?"
The slim figure lifts his arms to his face turning away expectant
of the blows to follow "Please dont hurt me!"
Jhelruk moves closer lifting his mace above his head, in one final
threat of attack the figure slumps somewhat and points towards a
cabinet on the Eastern wall. Lowering his guard the duergar quickly
moves to the cabinet hurling book upon book against the western wall
until a small grunt escapes his lips in acknowledgement of what he
was searching for.
"I wont be paying for this session, even tho likely it was the most
productive!"
...
Jhelruk crouches in a small cave infront of a small fire, the cave
entrance shrouded to prevent most of the light from escaping. A large
book is turned to the fire as he traces a finger along the words on
its pages. As he turns to the last page a small grunt escapes his lips
as he tosses the book to the fire. Reaching behind his breastplate he
retrieves a small envelop marked with the symbol of the Imperial War
Master holding it in both hands he slumps somewhat before it to holds
the same fate as the book.
Oh Jhelruk! - Part I

Jhelruk stands infront of a large wooden door and scratches his chin
a moment wondering if he is even in the right place. Testing the handle
the door opens silently on well maintain hinges. A single man stands at
the head of hundreds of students, mainly elf and drow, the occasional
wood-elf, all holding the same medatative pose.
"Is this the ..." Jhelruks words are suddenly cut short as the man at the
head of the classes glares at him in his approach, moving swiftly he is
ushered outside the door.
"You seem to be lost"
"Oh is this not the class for students who wish to learn the way of the
Footfall?"
The man stiffles a laugh before regaining composure and nodding.
"You seem to be lost" the man raises a hand to his mouth letting out a
fake cough.
Jhelruk peers at him for a moment before scratching his chin somewhat.
"Ahh perhaps I did not make myself clear Striking the Shadows Footfall"
The man nods a look of somewhat fake acknowledgement on his face.
"Ahh my appologies why yes this is the place to be! But you are late!"
Jhelruk turns to the man and frowns somewhat.
"I'll be back next intake then"
As Jhelruk turns to leave the man just stares at him is disbelief and
shakes his head before re-entering the class.
Oh Jhelruk! - Part II

Jhelruk sits within a large room full of hundreds of students, mainly
drow and elven, with the occasional woodelf. All holding the same
medatative pose. Jhelruk meanwhile grunts away trying to manipulate his
legs underneath him, using his arms he grabs his legs trying to force
them into position, muttering obscenities under his breath.
...
This process continues for much of the morning other students easily
reaching and holding posses, Jhelruk barely able to cross his legs. As
mid-day passes the class breaks for lunch and Jhelruk finds himself alone
as the teacher wanders from group to group having brief discussions with
the students.
...
...
"Class I have an announcement to make, never in my years did I think I
would see someone truely understand what this taching is about. For those
of you who have not reached the ... Umm ... self interprative meditation
height you could learn much from observation of the name I am yet to
mention. This is and always has been about finding those flaws, and making
them your strength. To follow and execute the pose to its very letter just
shows how much more you all have to learn. But to adapt well ... We all
know there so far has been only one. Jhelruk come to the front of the class."
As Jhelruk moves to the front a round of applause burts around him. The
teacher smiles broadly perhaps a little to broadly and passes the Jhelruk a
certificate of Macalla. Jhelruk peers at it a moment.
"I thought this was meanto to go for several weeks? Not half a day!"
"My son it goes for as long as it needs to several weeks is the average, some
are well well beyond that curve. Now go apply what you have learnt."
Jhelruk holds the certificate above his head in victory before returning to
the outside world.
Reflections

Jhelruk sits once again within the Blade halls, and if it were someone else
they would be stunned at how simple this achievement was. But he knew and kept
telling himself that it was fear that lead to him finally being removed,
ofcourse it was the Emperor who had failed the Empire nothing more nothing less.
Once this idiot breathed his last breath it would only be a matter of time
before things were righted and it all happened right from the top, and
marked as personal guard. Not just any old Elite, but as time starts to pass
Jhelruk is starting to feel this is an entitlement, and that he has been given
licence to make decisions when there is no council to make one. In doing this
he will need to be wary of the War Master, who when Anathema was fixed on the
decision that the former Emperor had made.
Almost sub consciously he rummages through his girdle fingers delicately tracing
along a parchment contained within. His breathing slows somewhat before he lets
out one last mighty exhale and adjusts body to a meditative pose that could only
be described as the Pretzel. he grimices his way through the pose before finally
releasing it glancing at the parchment a smile crosses his face as he read the
words across the top totally oblivious to what they actually say.

Nothing To Guard

Thoughts race through Jhelruks mind.
The details are yet still sketchy but a few things seemed to have echoed true
Solraen did win the vote, well atleast according to a few sources.
From here things get a little more scattered but at the center of it all was the
idiot who was once the Dread Lord, and ultimately a relativey empty Council and
no Emperor.
Jhelruk scratches his chin for a moment as he utters the words "I suppose I am
not the guard of nothing. Guess I'll just go back to being the personal guard
to myself." His hand gradually slows t a complete stop before he flashes a quick
smile ... "Yes Yes Personal Guard to the Emperor, Emperor of Thera"
Fluffy Bunny

Jhelruk moves his hands across the empty loops of his weapon belt
as he mumbles under his breath berating himself for the way he has
recently lost so many. Left with but three maces which soon went
to two "Damned villagers if I keep going this way ill have to punch
them all to death." As his hands fumble past the loops it stops on
one with flecks of blood covering the leather.
"My bloody spiked club, hell I liked that weapon, so fluffy!"
As the word fluffy passes his lips and flicker of mischief flashes
across his face. Thought races through his head moving quickly
he begins to write some words on a piece of paper, crossing some out
and rewritting again until eventually he yells a phrase at the top
of his lungs!
"Armed to the teeth in my left and my right! Fluffy bunnies are
coming to get ya!"

Ever since the utter disaster that was Tyree. The damage
done even before they became Emperor, the damage done
during is nothing that compares to the lingering affects.
The Empire has become a shadow of what it once was a
a corpse left in the wastes of nonveil. Forgotten hammered
by the swirling sands bleached by the stinging sun.
Jhelruk knows, that his days are numbered. Old age
old age growing ever closer. A fragility he is well aware
of as letters from his mother speak of his fathers dying
finally bit the bullet. Jhelruk always believed that his
father would have stared death in the face, before beating
him within an inch of his life giving the hiding of
its life.
Letters seeking forgiveness from his son, and quite
frankly Jhelruk dosnt give a shit. There is one condition
he will see his father in and thats to Lord over his dying
frame with what his son has achieved.
Which leaves only a few things:
1. Outlive his father
2. Become Emperor, and lead the headless chook which is
now the Empire.
This just leaves one problem. Igos. Well actually more
that one with recent Fortress activity making a fight
wih the giant near certain death. So a sideways path will
need to be found.
Fluffy Bunny Part III

Jhelruk rubs his throat with his left hand as he is in the
middle of combat with one mace. He lets out a small cough
in an attempt to clear his throat before shouting a feeble
warcry. His forehead begins to crease as his eyes stare into
the distance deep in thought. After an extremely brief period
of time he utters the words "That must be it!"
...
For Jhelruk none of what has happened is his fault, how can it
it be his fault he is awesome! The simple thought that perhaps
he has made a decison that is just completely off base just
cannot be so. Instead for him its a consiracy, and the best he
can come up with points the finger of blame directly at the
Fortress. Likely for him they have all been quacking in their
boots and over a recent tea and scones "down tools" ... Well
down tools one really cant use that term if weapons never leave
weapons rack! ... over a recent tea and scones all the time
everytime event! They all discussed how terrified they all were
of the man who could scare them with a warcry about fluffy bunnies.
So much so the entire Fortress had sworn off rabbit stew for
the rest of their lives just incase part of the stew reached up
and tore their face off!
Jheruk would not be surprised if children across Thera soon lost
their stuffed bunnies as part of a Fortress community program
to "Save the children!"
So the only logical reason is they have been praying and praying
and praying "Please Immortal Lords! Make Jhelruk less terrifying!"
...
A smile crossed Jhelruks lips as his incredible and ofcourse
completely onpoint thought process comes to its conclusion.
