Description
A bestial, black skinned giant, he is quite heavily muscled yet short for his
race. With flame-red dreadlocks hanging from his head, he looks quite wild
and uncontrollable. Coal-black eyes look out from beneath the tangled mass of
hair upon his head with menace and fury. Calloused hands are attached to
stout, corded arms each with a crude tattoo of a skull upon them. A sharp,
angular, clean-shaven face with a bludgeoned nose frames his bushy eyebrows
and his mouth seems forever set in a scowl. He is less hairy then most of his
race, with very light hair covering his body, quite difficult to detect.
Powerful legs are squat and appear quite strong as well. A pair of massive
shoulders give him an almost hunchbacked look.

Kargthak was born in the pits of Mount Kiadana-Rah. He had four brothers: three
elder and one younger. For one day, he had a sister, before his father threw
her into a lava well. Kargthak's father had no tolerance for weakness, and
women are weak and therefore useless. Kargthak's three elder brothers beat him
mercilessly when he was very young, thereby gaining favor in their father's
eyes, aside from the sheer satisfaction they derived from the violence itself.
In turn, Kargthak abused his youngest brother, venting all his rage. He made
sure to do so where his father could see, and his father looked on approvingly.
As he grew into the prime of his youth, his frame grew at a terrifying rate,
and his muscles became as granite armor girding his flesh. Revenge began.
His younger brother had died to his hands some time since, leaving him with no
one to abuse for quite some now. Now, he turned his meaty fists upon his
remaining brothers. One was crippled, another lost the use of his eyes, and
the eldest was killed outright. When Kargthak's father came to recognize
his son's might, he bestowed upon him the huge two-handed blade that he had
once wielded in the Clan Wars. Kargthak took the blade and killed his father
where he stood.
Philosphy

He knows how to hurt, and in hurting, he lives. He cannot write. He can
barely speak. Violence, once a means to the end of culling the weak, is now
for him the end itself. He is not a reckless and wild beast, however. He
knows well the laws of nature, that the strong must destroy the weak. And he
knows that to ignore this would mean his own destruction. In the world
outside the volcano, he sees men use violence to gain what they called "power."
Kargthak wanted power from the first moment he dimly perceived its existence.
He does not want power for its own sake. He does not want to use violence to
gain power. He wants to be powerful in order to cause as much pain as
possible. This notion makes no sense to the civilized, or perhaps even the
conventionally "sane" mind. But this is what drives Kargthak. As it was
once his place to receive beatings from his brothers rather than administer
them, he knows that until he got this "power," he would not be able to crush
those around him.
