The Beast of Flame (Part One)
Added Tue Feb 15 01:20:50 2011 at level 4:
Deep in the craggy bowels of the Volcano of Kiadana-Rah, nestled
away from the village of fire giants ruled under Lord Kiadana-Rah
and his caste of Elite is a congregation of three anti-paladins
which for five centuries have sought after the legend of Karkarrak,
the Beast of Flame which will... "Sunder the Sky and bring to tame
the Storms of Light... this is at least, what the giants managed to
decipher over centuries of research and working alongside the
Scions of Eternal Night. An ancient prophecy which has existed
and surfaced and remained forgotten and rebirthed again for many
millenia, over many Theran Ages, so too, like everything whose
truth is buried in the past, is it muddled and swept by the winds
of time.
We look now upon the trio of anti-paladins after having at last
gathered all the ingredients required to prepare the rite, despite
continual advice from a dark-elf sorceror known as "Geshtahft" to
properly decipher the prophecy before proceeding, the giants now
speaking amongst themshelves as they peer to an immense fire giant
which is clearly at the last moments of his life. Beaten and marred
to the point of his visage appearing as a series of bruises, lumps,
cuts and welts more than an actual face, he breathes raggedly,
unable to decipher anything going on around him.
"It's time. Get heart of the dragon we take from the chest of
Ancient Green Dragon, start grind it and mix it with Heart of Magma
we take from Underdark. Make sure nothing else touch them, Geshtahft
say if anything else touch, potion not work." the largest of the trio
rumbled out audibly, his form, like the other two, clad in articulated
black platemail set with vicious horns and spikes and teeth, from the
tusks of taglos and pachyderms and rhinocerous, to the jagged teeth of
a great white shark and the talon of an Ancient Blue Dragon, momentos
of former battles fought against many a notable beast.
Bending down akwardly, the giant seized the hearts of these gargantuan
beasts with a massive, paw-like hand, squeezing the contents into a
crude stone bowl after dipping his hands into a vat of clean water.
Beads of sweat form on his brow as he thinks to himself, "If potion
not work, Konoo going think it Grugash fault and kill him. Him know
we not get chance again." -- He glances to Konoo, the leader of the
group and tries to part a dim-witted grin as he grinds the hearts
together in the bowl, creating a disgusting and repulsive sight to
any common man; though one enjoyed with evident appeal by this breed
of ancient evil.

"Juzjach, get eight rib of fire elemental we take from Octagonal Tower,
start grind in seperate bowl, when all powder and Grugash say he ready,
mix together." commanded Konoo, watching the ungoing proceedings with
a furrowed brow, he knew this was his last and only chance to appease
Lord Kiadana-Rah; he had spent too much coin seeking after this ultimate
weapon over the past three centuries. If it failed... his life would
surely be forfeit. He tried earnestly to put these thoughts aside but
even the dim-witted Gurgash could see it... failure was not an option
for any of them.
Cracking, snapping, and mashing the bones into dust, Juzjach, fiery-
haired and a little mad ground the ribs together into a fine dust before
hopping to his feet and walking over to Gurgash in a rushed manner.
A series of enchantments issue forward from Gurgash and Juzjach as Konoo
watches them with close interest, the final stages of the potion take
shape as it suddenly swirls from and changes from viscous black liquid
to one that burns a glowing, scarlet-red. Konoo wastes no time, he seizes
the potion and walks to the shackled giant, wrenching his jaw open and
utters a few more arcane words.
The contents pour into the throat of the giant and his entire body is
seized with a wracking pain, he ignites himself with the ability to
lavawalk, his body engulfed in brief flame before it all subsides.
Konoo and the other two peer closely at the reaction, and all appear
defeated as it appears the subject has simply died, all light gone
from his features as everything turns a midnight-black.
"Lightning Bolt" Konoo utters in the arcane tongue as a blast of
lightning arcs from his fingertips and blasts Gurgash across his
neck, sending him stumbling back a step. Before he can even respond,
Gurgash is cut mid-chant as his ability to hear is suddenly cutoff,
in a panic, he fumbles for a potion at his waist. Following his
deafening spell with a sweep of his flanged, black-iron mace,
Konoo catches the knee of Gurgash and sends him to the ground in
a howl of pain.
"Oh... no... that... NOT! NO! COMMAND YOU TO... UGH!" Juzjach screams
at the top of his lungs before his limp and broken, smoldering body
is thrown as a flaming heap to crash into Konoo, sending him to the
ground.
Having broken his shackles as the transformation took place, a being
composed of pure black fire steps forward, his form dimly appears
humanoid as a formless hand stretches forward, pointing at Konoo.
"...Pain...Torture...Why...Me...DIE!!" and with those words the
being would break into a series of flames to twist and warp
themselves around the form of Konoo, rendering him into a husk
Just as the being would be created, Geshtahft would utter to
himself as he read over a manuscript, "Oh... by the Goddess
Mergulla. He was a BattleRager... we're all doomed..."
Rampage and Destruction
Added Tue Feb 15 01:25:45 2011 at level 4:
Since his creation as a vassel of pure fire energy by the trio
of BattleRagers, Karkarrak Asherr-Rah, the first words uttered
to him as he first appeared dead and now calls himself can only
vaguely recall his past life. He has visions of butchering magi
of all varieties, and time has manifested these visions into a
purpose and direction for him as he pushes himself forward to
try and embrace this purpose. Haunted by the ancient rage and
fiery desire to kill and maim everything in his path, beneath
the shrouds of black fire emitted from his form manifests an
actual body capable of being harmed, a link possibly formed
to his inherent roots as a BattleRager, as a beast of war
driven by pride. He bounds forward on this path of Fire, Rage
and Destruction, searching for true purpose while trying to
focus his inherent desire to smolder everything.
Purpose and Direction of the Half-Elemental
Added Mon Feb 28 06:29:23 2011 at level 40:
Rekindling back to his roots, after being changed into the
fiery entity known as Karkarrak, time has passed as the
once great BattleRager refamiliarizes himself with all
that he knew of battle. His memories yet remain untapped
from his former life, his thirst driving him now... Time
passes and the once simple creature searches... for...
something.
Seeking a purpose now beyond simple destruction of anything
in his path and gaining reckoning on those responsible for
his creation and continual torment as what could be best
described as a half-elemental. A mortal core, surrounded in
wreathing flames to forever be bounded for a thirst of utter
destruction, Karkarrak, or "Asherr-Rah" as his being is called
in the arcane tongue, has sought the Wisdom of both the Warlord
Borkahd, and the Father of Devils Scarabaeus.
Possessed of a truly simple mindset, coupled with his inherent
desire to continually fight, raze, and destroy, Karkarrak has
decided he will simply exert his dominance over the other kin
he deems weaker than he. He will uphold the tenants of the
Tablet and in this mold those beneath him into greater warriors,
it is his belief that through struggle and turmoil, and through
strategic victories, that soldiers are truly forged stronger.
Scarabaeus has led him to the belief that the Lord Twist is
the one responsible for bringing the power of Arcane into the
grasp of mortals in Thera, in this, the half-elemental known
as Karkarrak has sworn to target those disciples of the God
of Magic as the most coveted of prey, as well as one day
earnestly seeking to raise swords and find a way to erase
Lord Twist from Thera forever.
Time as a BattleRager
Added Thu Mar 10 16:25:55 2011 at level 51:
(The Goddess Iunna)
Karkarrak has developed a bond with the Goddess of Flames,
or at least so he believes. He sees the fires of her home
as soothing and a kindred spirit to his own, he also believes
in the core principles of the faith, in continually challenging
himself and others to mold himself into the strongest and
fiercest warrior in Thera. He seeks her attention and praises
but not overly so, believing in the greater a challenge he can
overcome, the more impressed she'll be with him.
(Evolution as a Half-Elemental of Flames)
Despite his natural barrier with intellect, Karkarrak has
developed into a keen strategist and tactician, and is earnest
to continue proving himself as an asset to the War against the
Arcane. Blunt, rude, brash, and sometimes utterly intolerable,
the brute believes he's proven his worth beyond the measure of
most other villagers by sheer prowess and success, his natural
inclinations as a dark creature being all too evident in this
manner. Nonetheless, he continues to stride forward as a beast
of reckoning against the Arcane, that which continues to satiate
and appease his darkest desires.
(Death of the First Priest of Twist)
While the rest of the Village has been ordered not to lay a hand
on the Holy-Knight of Twist known as Radik, Karkarrak was ordered
to do the exact opposite and succeeded just recently. Facing off
against a horde of special guards, an alligator, and assassin, the
infuriated Karkarrak nonetheless manages to succeed in killing his
The Battle against Ghrimriddor

Releasing a gutteral roar of rage as black fire pulsates around his form,
a massive wardrum begins to signal the beginning of battle as the immense
behemoth rushes full-speed across a path leading to a grotesque and savage
shrine. Each stride of his carrying him further and further forward, the
beast is unrelenting as he leaps at the dwarf huddled with his back to the
shrine wall, a pair of whips grasped in hand.
Swiping a sheen of dirt to pick it up and send it into the air at the eyes
of the dwarf, the enormous half-elemental of pitch fire would be met with
the same dirt lodged into eyes of his own as the dwarf responded with clear
tact and tenacity. Stumbling back a moment, Karkarrak would release a fit
of gutteral rage as his eyes became wide and anger adrenaline overtook him.
As quickly as his rage had begun, so too did it end as the dwarf flicked
his whip across the neck of the massive beast, forcing him to his knees
as it seized the air from his throat. Struggling for a few moments, the
behemoth would break the hold and re-engage the dwarf almost immediatley,
leaping at him with a swathe of blades hacking and carving.
A chase would ensue, the behemoth continually forcing the dwarf to use
guile and strategy in an attempt to wear off the reckless abandon of the
much stronger berserker stomping after him.
The battle would come to an end as before a massive pillar the two
berserkers stood and fought, the fray was short as in the end the beast
of flame would flay the hide of the dwarf and raise it into the air,
announcing a new age of reckoning, and a new Commander for the War
against Magic.
Destiny of the Beast of Flame
Added Fri Mar 25 02:40:52 2011 at level 51:
(Destiny of the Half-Elemental)
Much remains clouded and muddled in the mind of Karkarrak, part of him believes his
rash nature is what paved his way to victory and triumph over so many a foe and faction,
and yet another believes that the Gods themselves are testing him, forcing him to endure
the greatest of trials. With the eog blade forged by Noldarian hands still gripped in his
arsenal, he pleads and scowers the heavens for those that will listen, all the while still
paying praise to the one whom he finds affinity with, the Navigator of the Flames, Goddess
Iunna.
(Training, Leading, Inspiring within the Village)
Taking it on himself to try and teach as much about warfare to those who would call
hemselves students of it, Karkarrak believes his mentoring has made great strides
amongst a good host of the soldiers present in the village, many of them learning
tricks about strategy they may have otherwise neglected or overlooked. Paving the
way with he calls his "Destiny Blade" the behemoth of flames thirsts to prove himself
as a true leader among the BattleRagers, as a symbol and banner which the lesser kin
can rally to in times of need and war.
(Discussion with Scarabaeus)
Seeking the hallow cliffside overlooking the dark and rough waters of the Khalid
River to speak with the Lich-Lord Scarabaeus, Karkarrak finds amusement, and it is
obvious to some extent, so too does the Lich-Lord in the half-elementals company.
Drawn by the knowledge the Father of Devils possesses, Karkarrak has garnered that
in order for him to slay Lord Twist, he would need a vassel, or the power of the
Gods, and that this power itself, was unstable and almost mutant in nature. This
has ultimately led him to contemplate another measure, which the Lich-Lord hinted
could be acheived, but would not mention how; the death of Lord Twist is near
impossible, but imprisoning him... as Thror was once imprisoned... perhaps this
could work.
(Cowards and those refusing Engagement)
Karkarrak has found that a new breed of mage has begun to develop, those which
would avoid all conflict entirely, except in the utterly most extreme rare of
circumstances. Pondering thoughts on this menace, he has begun stalking particular
cabals and expending resources in a manner similar to a predatory cat, waiting for
the perfect moment to ambush his prey, and doing so relentlessly. His belief is
that those who hide behind guises and avoid all confrontation without engagement
of anykind, for decades at a time must be brought to battle somehow, his hope is
soon to speak with the Lords of Battle, and see what can be done about such cowards.
