Description
Before you is the small, muscular form of a Svirfnebli.
The snowy white spiked hair that covers the top of his
head is clean and short, and has a greasy look of hair
tonic that fills your nostrils with a calming spearmint
aroma from the eucalyptus. His face is narrow and gaunt
and has a light gray complexion with varied speckles
of dark gray and pale white. Opalescent eyes carry the
definition of focus and determination within them, but
do not lack any friendliness. Dry, leathery skin covers
his body, with particularly toughened calloused hands.
Though youthful looking, this Svirf has the appearance
of a strong willed adventurer, given his variegated
armament. Despite the variety, he portrays himself in
a well-groomed and well-mannered way.
Role
Challenges

On a daily basis, we are met with challenges--great and small
alike. In these challenges we will find success and failure.
Often we absorb the success and try to capture and relish these
moments. And when we confront our failures, we try and learn
from the mistakes and figure a way to improve ourselves. A mad
dog would simply continue to make these mistakes. It is in this
way that we, as people, flourish in these lands. We have a
responsibility as the superior life forms that come from the
earth to take care of one another and our environment. It is
with this lesson that Kasdenn would carry on to live and pass.
Passage of Rites
Added Sat Oct 29 12:27:12 2005 at level 1:
Kasdenn stood there in the center of a makeshift arena constructed
from barrels of hay that lined the edge, and a combination of thick
mud and straw in the center. Coming slowly towards him from the edge
was a peer of his from the academy. Both had their weapons drawn
ready to complete the final tasks of their training. This event was
a great ceremony and honor to achieve to those who participate in it.
Both pupils looked stern and focused, as though there were only one
way to leave the arena--the victor. And They began their passage of
rites, using their wooden weapons to fight with courage and integrity.
Each of these students had been the best in their classes, and earned
the place they are in now.
The students represent different houses within Cragstone, and the
student who won the tournament would withhold the trophy in their
respective house until the next tournament began. While the trophy
itself was symbolism of success, and important unto itself, it was not
the only reason the Svirfnebli partook in the tournament. Their purpose
was not so superficial. They prided themselves in the fact that they
tried their best in every sense of the word. There is a saying that
Kasdenn remembers well into this current day. Two Svirfnebli were asked
to fill their canteen's with saltwater. Though one was asked to go to
the Sea of Despair and the other to the furthest reaches of the Aryth
Ocean. Each of them returned with their canteen's full with saltwater.
The symbolism of the passage is that while they both essentially came
to the same conclusion, one was left with a greater sense of
accomplishment, because he had to work harder to accomplish the same
task. It was in hard work that Kasdenn became vitalized, filled with
the compassion of dedication and achievement.
Kasdenn ended up being defeated by the other student. Though he did
not carry himself with his head down, or his shoulders sulking. He
carried himself knowing that he *did* do his best, and he lived up
to the potential within him. Kasdenn would leave Cragstone's academy
as a graduate in search of further training and education.
Beginning of the Fire

Realizing the true dedication that he had for the Blood Tribunal,
Kasdenn has set out on a personal quest to put an end to the corruption
within the ranks of the Blood Tribunal. The first corrupted man goes by
the name of Falun, and currently holds the Vindicator position. Kasdenn
believe he is abusing his powers as Vindicator to aid in the fulfillment
of his dark Lord's will, Khasotholas. Falun has begun a strongly objected
movement against the Fortress. With the many deaths Falun has helped
bring, alongside the Empire, the Fortress has grown weary and will not
stand for his actions. This nearly brought a war to the Blood Tribunal
imposed by the Fortress--but Kasdenn helped in calming the Fortress with
a most impassioned speech. Of course, Kasdenn cannot blame the Fortress
for wanting this war when Falun advocates a war himself.
With more merciful ideals, Kasdenn believes the only answer is to have
Falun removed or demoted. He believes this because his sight of the Blood
Tribunal is to uphold peace and protection, so that the cities and its
occupants may find greater prosperity--dreams even. These ideals carry
a certain balance and truth to them in Kasdenn's heart, which was helped
to be revealed by friends, family and the Elder's. Many people rely on
the protection of the Blood Tribunal--as it has saved more lives than
taken. But to the people who would believe the Blood Tribunal corrupt
Kasdenn cannot disagree until he has made his stand in ensuring those
corrupt members are withdrawn from its spire. Kasdenn will continue to
work as hard as he always had, and will use the passion and fire within
him to see to his own dream--to allow the dreams of others to flourish.
Removal from Tribunal
Added Fri Dec 2 17:59:27 2005 at level 51:
Along Kasdenn's road, there had been a couple bumps--but nothing that
would stop or change his course. And even recently, he had suspected
things within the Blood Tribunal had been going better--better from
where they were at least. Falun had just been named Provost by the
Elder Dalteric. At first, this had come to a great shock to Kasdenn.
But then after a little time had passed, Kasdenn slowly began to real-
ize that maybe this isn't all bad--and thought to give Falun a chance.
He continued to do what he could do to benefit the Blood Tribunal and
still keep the spirits up around him--even his enemies, after all
Kasdenn is a man (albeit a short one), but still a man, and not a
monster.
With a disagreement between Kasdenn and another Magistrate, Delana
Kasdenn soon found his job in jeopardy. All the progress that Kasdenn
thought he was making had diminished to nothing after one conversation
with Falun. Kasdenn was removed from the Blood Tribunal for what Falun
said to be blatant disrespect. Kasdenn thought and thought again on
the situation, and found that maybe he was wrong. Or perhaps it was
Kasdenn who was right and Falun who was wrong. Or perhaps it could
have been that Kasdenn was wrong AND Falun who was wrong. Kasdenn
will continue to ponder and try with all that he is to stay the
path.
