Description

Stark white, short cropped hair juts out of the head of this frail drow. Tattoos depicting arcane symbols and what appear to be acts of vandalism cover his neck and left cheek. His eyes are a glazed smoky grey, with wisps of white for an iris. A deep gash is apparent on the right side of his neck, though it has been padded with dust and grime over time. Looking closely at his body, you notice irregularities. His right arm is slightly longer than his left. His skin is loose on his left arm, where it is pulled taut on the right. All in all, he carries a gaunt, and somewhat disfigured appearance.

Role

First Part (overdue - but better late than never)

Added Mon Feb 2 03:06:51 2004 at level 51:
Kazadan Del'Khurr was born in the Underdark, of House
Tazzabarazzan. He was of a servant class in his house, and
was raised by a very cruel cousin. The house was primarily
merchants, selling arms and armors throughout the Underdark,
and due to the variety of weapons stocked in the armory of the
house (most of which were more suited for torture than for
warfare), on days when his master was feeling unpleasant,
they could be very painful for Kazadan.

As a servant of the house, Kazadan was trained in the culinary
arts, cooking anything from carrion crawler, to cave rats, to
meats imported from the surface.

Kazadan's only friend (if you could call it) during his youth,
was a slavemaster. Ironically a slavemaster would be one of
the least people that would befriend a lowly servant, but
the slavemaster, Akezaal Menzotanir, allowed Kazadan to vent
his rage by concocting poisons to put in the already unappetizing
food he prepared for the slaves. He enjoyed to see their
reactions when he fed them the tampered food.

Kazadan and Akezaal's interest were alike, and so they spent
a considerable amount of time around one another. Their scorn for
the ruling body of the house was also shared, so they plotted.

Second Part

Added Mon Feb 2 03:23:50 2004 at level 51:
During the years until his maturity, he would subtley affect
the ruling body of House Tazzabarazzan with his poisons. He
was patient, and would make his move at times when excuses
were already available: such as when someone recently fought
a cavefisher, or when they dined on food imported from
the surface.

One by one, and with the assistance of other sympathizers,
members of the ruling body of Tazzabarazan were removed.
In their place were several other preferred members of
the house, and Akezaal was made Blademaster and commander of
their troops.

Kazadan, on the other hand, took the position in the house that
he desired: Slavemaster. It is not very hard to believe that
someone who vented his rage and made a hobby out of torturing
slaves would eventually take a liking to making it his
permanent occupation.

Transmutation, the Chasm, and a Summary

Added Mon Feb 2 03:53:51 2004 at level 51:
As a slavemaster, Kazadan delighted in finding new ways
to torment his slaves. Formerly, it was poisons, but after
watching a magi of his house cause the bones and flesh to
twist of an intruder during an assault, he immediately took
a liking to transmutation, and is learning accordingly.

Kazadan pursued to learn with the Chasm due to his affinity to
torture. What would be better than bringing forth creatures from
another plane, one filled with violence and fear, and blight
and hideous beats? Once he learned of the purpose of the Chasm, his
mind has been preoccupied with the perverse dream of bringing
forth the eternal night on the citizens of Thera.

In general, Kazadan's primary goal is fulfilling the prophecy.
To this end, he can seem very nice and sometimes cordial. However,
he does still take great delight in instigating violence, harming
others, crushing dreams and hopes, and hardening his allies within
the Chasm so their conscience never gets in the way once the
prophecy is fulfilled. His spurts of kindness are always in the
interest of manipulating others or pursuing his goal.

On Hatred, Honor and Virtues

Added Mon Feb 2 04:09:01 2004 at level 51:
Despite his liking for torture, Kazadan does not carry many
specific hatreds. He doesn't particularly hate any races or
guilds, other than those naturally inclined to get in the
way of his wishes uch as Paladins and Elves.

Kazadan, however, has one extreme hatred: honor. Not so much
with his enemies, as he sees that as something which makes his
life easier, but of those of the Chasm. He considers honor a
worthless trait, and equates its use to a fear of retribution
and weakness. He considers it an excellent way to stifle
success, and will do anything he can to belittle it.

Mercy, and other virtues such as honesty and pride, are all
worthless to Kazadan, although not nearly as hated as Honor.

On the other hand, Kazadan does understand manipulation, and
is fine with -some- actions which resemble virtues, as long
as it is for some greater goal.
