Description
Purposed and quick movements catch your eye and you see
an avian creature before you. He is garbed in darkened
armors, skins, and a few pieces of dragon hide. Plummage
of a grayish-white covers his body except for one streak
of crimson red upon his chest. His beak is small, dark,
and shines as though polished or oiled. His eyes are
deeply set, large, and seemingly unblinking, as though
few things are left unobserved by this bird of prey. A
few weapons are attached about his lithe form and all
are within quick reach.
Role
The Roots.

An imposter. A traitor. A rat of Grig'Agali. To the Roots they threw me,
bound by the blackened iron chains about my young claws.
If only they knew how many violenty died so I may keep up my masquerade,
they'd know the Roots punishment woefully insufficient.
We all want things in life, open skies, fair winds, and pleasure. I wanted
it. I made it happen. But they caught me, my feathers dull and gray.
But I escaped the Roots in a moment of chaos, in the struggle of another
man's sin. The opened gate a beckoning Maw of darkened night eager to
embrace me.
Foul winds for one, fairer still for another.

Keep away from the mountains.
Keep away from the cities.
So I made my home in the between, roaming the hills and fields on my own,
rummaging, killing, taking in the winds.
The ranger's allowed me entry without word or judgment, only a few coins
required.
A drifter I became. But then, a hunter.
A Ranger, A Rat.

They came for me, over and over. Magic and might of the Empire on my heels.
So I led them on, to the woods, and there they died.
Coin, tools, armaments.And pleasure.
A bird of prey.
***
This Smith asked me if I enjoyed killing mages. Of course I did, as
enjoyable as killing any. He reeked of pride and dignity.
It was just an oath, mere words. I've made a thousand promises, oaths, and
truces in my life, all only as good as what I get from it.
I walk with them for now. They call me brother. Do they not realize that a
rat will eat its own brother as it hungers?
I best not get hungry.
