Description

This arial male is small for his race, both in height and in stature, with a beak that looks like it has been broken and reset more than once in his life. His eyes are white flecked with silver, the feathers of his arms and legs varying shades of gray. The feathers of his head are similar in color, save for a vivid streak of flame red that runs from just above his right eye to a spot just between his wings. His movements are quick yet precise, the talons of each claw well-manicured to the point where they are barely visible. Looking closer at him, you see that

Role

Motivations

Added Sun Sep 14 15:19:20 2008 at level 11:
Kelkelian is a thief at heart. He'll steal from anyone who is evil...and
he'll probably steal from neutrals as well. He might even steal from good
aligned individuals, but will return the item and claim he's just
"practicing". The one constant is that he'll either use what he steals
himself, give it to someone of the Light (not a neutral) or destroy it to
keep it out of the hands of the enemy.

He's not much of a fighter. Sure, he'll duke it out occasionally, but not
really because he thinks he can win. It'll usually be to give someone else
time to get away. He's definitely not a coward, but he's painfully aware
of his own limitations as a fighter, so avoids conflict whenever he
possibly can. He's not above partaking in a gank though - as long as he's
got a good chance of surviving.

He doesn't really like to take things from corpses. That's too easy.
Stealing is where it's at. Though he's not above maybe making a fake copy
of something then sticking it back on the corpse and keeping the original,
just as a joke. That'd be funny...right?

He's generally honest, though he really, really doesn't like ANYONE, even
his friends and allies, knowing just where he is (this is because of his
sisters). He usually won't lie about it, but might avoid the truth a bit.

He has a biting sense of humor, likes to make fun of stupid people
(seriously, who doesn't?) and has a terrible, terrible memory for names.
Really terrible. He won't forget who you are if you're with him, but if
you're not...yeah, it's bad.

He's heard of the Fortress, and thinks that his path might lie with them as
an Acolyte.

Background

Added Sun Sep 14 15:15:34 2008 at level 11:
Kelkelian grew up in Arial City. His father was a temple healer and his
mother was a stay-in-the-nest mom, who spent most of her time and energy
raising Kelkelian and his seven older sisters. Kelkelian's father
taught him the importance of morals, living a humble life, and what it
meant to be "good". Kelkelian's mother taught him to embrace life with
passion, to be selfless and giving, and to help others who were deserving
of help, even if it meant you would go without yourself. Kelkelian's
seven older sisters (who liked to dress him up in girl's clothing, braid
pink ribbons in his feathers, and treat him like their own personal
doll...obviously his parents should have gotten the family a winged arial
puppy or something) taught him how to run and how to hide.

Kelkelian was very small for his age - he still is - and as such was picked
on by pretty much every bully in the neighborhood (especially Crimbun's kid
Alex). He always tried to stand up for himself, and for his friends, but
was never successful (he lost his taglo jerky money on more than one
occasion). He often came home with a bloody beak or missing a few
feathers, earning a *tsk* from his mother and a sad shake of the head from
his father (who would then, well, heal him. That's what healers do,
right?). He also recognized at an early age that Arial city was home to
much good, but also much evil, and that the dark part of Carnation Drive
was a constant source of danger for all the good citizens of Arial City -
but that no one was willing to do much of anything about it.

So Kelkelian decided to join the guild of thieves. Striking from the
shadows, avoiding the blows of his enemies, taking back the dark parts of
the world bit by bit - he would turn his small size and weak body into an
asset. After all, who would suspect that little Arial leaning nonchalantly
against the wall over there could do anyone any harm?

Most importantly, he would help protect and defend those who were at the
mercy of the darkness. He would do this by stealing the armor, weapons and
magic that the darkness relied upon, then giving those same things to those
of the Light. To others, who could use them much, much better than he
could.
