background
Added Thu Dec 5 08:06:37 2024 at level 48:
Born to a merchant family related to the King Dortangil. His family lead a
coup against the king by manipulating those around them. Their goal was to
create a bank within Upper cragstone to centralize all the financial
transactions while controlling the flow of goods. Their end goal was to
influence the King to force their agenda of Conquest of the underdark. Using
armies of mercenaries from the surface.
The reason their family sought to do this was because a branch of their
family was caught by slavers on their way to trade then sold to the duergars
of Aran'gird. He learned shapeshifting to slip away while his family was
being arrested.
His family knew the risk as did he. Still it bothers him that they were
trying to do the right thing to free the rest of their family. Those who try
to go against the status quo end up as criminals by trying to make real
change. This mind set has sent him on the path to trying to understand
justice.
justice even exist? What is good and what is evil? He seeks to
understand these concepts better. Coming to the surface with nothing to his
name bothered him greatly.
He was used to the life of a rich merchant family. He needed a way to
assure he would not be poor again like he is. All his families wealth taken
by the king when his family fell. This has caused him to join the Tribunal to
protect the cities, it's laws, and the banking system that holds it all
together.
He seeks out Lord Rillan to learn from the mistakes of his family. His goal
is to bring a bank to Cragstone to give the merchants more power within the
city.
Personality. He is selfish, self serving, and pragmatic. He works toward his
eventual goals. He prefers to talk over violence. Hwe feigns sympathy when
talking of matters that he knows others care about.
Moral Code
Added Wed Dec 11 13:51:08 2024 at level 51:
Moral code: He believes that it is the duty of the rich and influential to
guide the lives of the poor. Simply because they don't have the proper sense
to protect themselves. They aren't educated enough, talented enough, or have
the insight needed to ensure their own safety.
He possesses all these to ensure that they will be taken care of.
He does admire hard work. He may not believe it will make others rich, but it
will allow civilization to flourish.
He aims to enforce the law to it's exact intent himself. He believes others
are allowed to follow their own sense of justice. He doesn't want to stifle
that by pushing on his own superior sense of justice.
Despite this he isn't sure true justice exists. He believes his sense of
justice is far better than any others yet it is not perfect.
avoids killing those who are good that are doing something he believes to
be right. Guards, Merchants, anyone really who is a productive citizen. He is
less inclined for evil.
He kills Basilica guards because of their connection to the evil cult.
Justiciar and Loyalty
Added Sat Dec 28 04:36:39 2024 at level 51:
He feels his eventual role as Justiciar is secured with most of the Spire
accepting him as the future Justiciar. With that being done he is focusing on
investing in Spire friendly Imperials onto the council. The advantage here
being he will be able to control the narrative far better with people in high
places owing him favors.
is smoothing things over with the Fortress to ensure the same when it
comes time for him to implement stricter enforcement of the laws. Primarily
starting with Outlanders.
intends to avoid hunting criminals outside the cities as it will be seen
as a conflict of interest.
All the praise has been getting to his head. He is loving every second of
it and he is starting to believe his own greatness without reserve.
He is presenting himself as the caring face of the Spire. Acting as if the
plights of the lower class tug at his heartstrings. He does the same for his
fellow Magistrates.
trust he has been inspiring in them is shocking even him. He wonders to
himself is it really this easy?

*Has failed to stop hunting criminals outside the city, but has stopped
caring.
*Gesoros is starting or pretending to start some nonsense including summoning
the father of devils. Kerk doesn't care about and thinks no matter the
outcome he will rise above it.
*Despite himself he is concerned on if the Heralds will be harmed in Gesoros'
trickery.
*He is wondering if he is doing something wrong when it comes to Justiciar.
He has had many recommendations and not a whisper.
*He has plans to set up a charity for the guards of Upper Cragstone to aid
against a thieving problem that he will create himself.

Equality under the Law. Criminals, and progress.
Added Fri Jan 17 15:33:52 2025 at level 51:
He is thinking on the Provost's words and how much they disgust him. Everyone
is equal under the law? Criminals, thieves, orcs, duergar, and the poor all
share equal protection as him?
Surely some are equal, but all? Some like himself are of a higher
quality. His peers in this regard deserve to be treated a little more equally
than the rest.
is trying to find a balance between fighting criminals and standing duty.
He doesn't want to fight but they are inconveniencing him greatly.
He is shifting toward focusing on well researched legal issues. Focusing on
the law part of the investigative process.
His attempts to get the Fortress to see his way on criminal issues has been
failing. He has decided to make a point of it by involving himself.
He hopes to push for Hildt to become Provost in time. Someone he believes he
can direct toward what he wants.
He has found he is well respected within the Fortress...that frustrates him
more because they will not bend to his desires.
