Description

Khard stands a shade under 4 feet tall, with flame red hair all over his body. His beard is neatly trimmed, its length nearly at the top of his belt buckle. His steel blue eyes show wrinkles of worry around them, and full cheeks seem to support the hawk like squint he uses to gaze upon everything. Small ears sit on either side of his head, with a dishevealed mop of red hair standing out at odd angles all over his skull. His body has filled out, muscles corded from working with calloused hands and scars on his forearms. A hungry glean seems to twinkle in his eyes.

Role

Homeland lost.

The journey back to Khard's homeland was long, and
trecheous. Many orcs he had to battle, along with their
goblin friends, but at last he arrived at the gates.

But as soon as he got to the gates, he knew something
was wrong. The heavy steel doors, blasted from their
hinges, the smell of burning flesh and fear, the missing
guards. A battle that looks to have turned for the worse
for the dwarven stronghold. Khard seeing this falls to
his knees, and a single tear falls from his eye.

Then some swirling mist forms in front of Khard. An
visage of the spirit of Krumnar Stonehammer appears before
Khard, and utters soothing dwarven words, trying to calm
the young Khard.

"Ye must go and leave here. Ancient evil the clan has
stumbled on. Ye can't be thinking of taking back ye
homeland. It is lost. Go seek help from a group that
might know how to be fighting the evil. Go seek the
village, live with them, and give them as much as they
give you. This being me last command as yer king."

The road continues, new revalations.

After speaking with some of the villagers, Khard finds
that his heart lies more closely to the village than he
realized. Moreso, he finds himself more akin to the
berserkers in the village, with the love of fighting and
warfare. He still keeps his passion for forging weapons,
but put more effort into making weapons for combat, so
that the village may have an edge in the many fronted
war they fight.

He also takes time to reflect upon the death of one Villager
named Tinfalan. When speaking to Tinfalan, he realizes
that he can help his homeland best by helping weaken it
through the destruction of magic. It is a loft goal, and
one that Khard will not give up easily.

Khard begins his journey.

Many years Khard spent in the mines, learning the ancient
ways of his people. One day, the king of his clan, King
Krumnar Stonehammer decided someone needed to go out
and become wiser in Theran ways. A pot of names was
put together of the younger dwarves, and Khard's name
was the one chose. Not wanting to really go, but moreso
fearing the wrath of his king, Khard set out to do as
king bid him to do.
