Description

Brutish and foreboding, the figure of a huge giant stands before you. He is clad in minimal black and gray armor, most of his body left bare. His mane of long, flaming orange hair meshes with his beard, obscuring most of his block-shaped face. His skin, a dark ebon, is tightly stretched over his powerful, thickly corded muscles, nicked in several places by jagged scars. His legs, solid as any tree, give him a balance and stability impressive even for a man of his stature. At his side is are two huge battleaxes, their blades engraved with tiny flames. He is of about average height for his kind, standing at nearly 11 feet. Looking into his eyes, one can see a frightening blend of anger and cunning. This giant of the flames is a fearsome fellow indeed.

Role

Kharthak's Background

Added Mon Apr 10 19:35:06 2006 at level 11:
Kharthak comes from a small fire giant enclave deep underground, far from the
brilliant fires of Kiadana-Rah.Named Bahal-Rah, it exists next to one of
the many sprawling lava pools known to exist throughout the Underdark.

Its founding dates back to the coming of The Teacher and magic to the pits of
the giants ancestral home. Kharthaks ancestors, along with a decent number
of followers, were sickened by the ways of this Teacher, scorning his petty
words and spells for the pure physical prowess that had ever been the giants
way. Thus, after a brief but bloody conflict, they left to found a new home
where the One Law was truly that, and Strength and War were the only words to
live by.

As Kharthak grew to manhood, he lived like most of the other young men in the
village. When he was not out on a raid, he was training. He is the third
son of the Warlord, and as such is not in line for succession. Knowing this,
he focused all his energies on the ways of war.

Though the village had been isolated for centuries, in recent years some of
the youth had been caught drawing runes. Though they were suitably
punishedtheir tongues cut out so no spells could they speakthe cause of the
insurgency had to be determined. Kharthak investigated and found that the
lady of the village, his own mother, had obtained a tome from a nearby
duergar Clanhold and was attempting to learn the ways of the teacher. In his
disgust, he broke her neck.

His father, though secretly pleased with his sons strength and resolve, had
no choice but to order his death. Though a ghastly proclamation, such was
their way, and Kharthak was thrown into the arena with three hardened
warriors. Though he does not remember what ensued, it is said he went truly
berserk, fighting the three off and slaying them, though they had their
blades and he naught but his fists.

Winning his freedom, Kharthak left Bahal-Rah. He now travels the lands
seeking to destroy all disciples of the Teacher. The One Law still weighs
heavily on his mind, and he has no respect for those he views as weaker than
him. He is likely to challenge any that disagree with him, following their
decisions only if they best him in combat.
