Description

This is a well-built human. His darkly tanned skin lends a rugged tone to his well-muscled frame. Wiry, ropy muscles make up his arms, his hands are thick and calloused, not unaccustomed to manual labor. His torso and midsection are well developed revealing a healthy living style. He has well-developed legs, the sort with power and endurance. His head is bald and shines like polished ebony, his pate covered with an intricately detailed white-inked tattoo that resembles a crown of claws. Large and bushy white eyebrows perch atop a set of large, seeking eyes the color of slate grey. His boldly shaped nose juts out with stature. Beneath it squarely rest large lips and a defined jawline. His whole face has the tanned nature of one who spends much time in the outdoors.

Role

Leadership, Age and Faith.

Added Wed Mar 21 20:59:27 2007 at level 51:
I have reached by fiftieth birthday, but I feel as I have walked this plane
for two hundred years. The faces of my Magistrates that have come and gone
have begun to fade which saddens me. Still I drive on, for someone in the
heavens has blessed me with a bit of their power and I feel a reassuring
presence as I and my Magistrates stand against those who would see disorder
reign.

My Magistrates have served the Spire well, at times I wonder if it would be
best to just allow those unfettered by the Light and the Dark but keep Order
in their heart to join the Spire. But as always, Judgment prevails and I
would be considered biased in choosing those who would serve the Spire and
the civilized peoples of Thera, there is no need to incite others to fight
against the Tribunal for we have plenty of enemies.

The War that I chose to accept has taken a heavy toll on my elder
Magistrates, to war against those whose life work is to kill and destroy is
something I knew would be difficult. But what was I to do? The
Battlerager's lack of respect for the Sanctity of the Spire forced my hand
if I did nothing the will of the leadership of the Spire would be questioned.
If this were to happen then the entire organization would appear weak, the
Law is not weak and thus I cannot be. This War will end when the Commander of
the Village decrees that there will be direct attacks against the Spire.
There shall be no incursions into the Spire itself even to battle one my many
mages that have chosen to serve. I care little that they dislike mages, it
does not bother me actually but they must keep their battles separate from
Cabal politics.

In this War I have found allies in the Nexus for they battle the haters of
magic with calculated risks, but they are unreliable at best since their
political stance changes as often as the winds.
I have found numerous competent individuals within the Empire, but I tend to
find myself with Hunsobo for his skill in battle and knowledge of the art of
war is damn impressive, a shame that he chose the path of power instead of
the path of service. Thos is also powerful for his magics make my job all the
easier. Many feel that I favor the Empire too much and that my heart and soul
may one day become as their's, to this I simply shrug off the implications
for they unlike the majority of the other Cabals demand that their citizens
be orderly and at least respect the five main laws of Thera.

Now, for the War against the Outlanders, they have all but been crushed under
the weight for Law and Order. I have seen countless Harbringers, Sunwardens
and Nightreavers come and go, for this I do not take all the credit for the
Empire had a good hand as well as the Spire in making this happen. When I
have a hand in ending their existence I feel no sorrow for they are a
stubborn bunch and brute force is all they understand. In my younger years I
even attempted to reason with them but it was like reasoning with a hungry,
rabid, beast in heat.

As I get older my old prejudices have faded, my inherent dislike for the dark
elf race dissipated for many of the race have proven themselves trustworthy,
perhaps one day I will even induct one into the Spire.

I have reached the pinnacle of my guild, gain a position of influence within
the Spire and been blessed by an unknown Patron to the full strength of my
faith. Paskat, the leader of the Spire discussed with me in private that he
thought me a good fit to take his place when his time comes to step down.
Everything is falling into place as I thought it would when I set out in this
journey. I should feel content, but this is not so. The Church of the Just is
still largely unknown to the populace of Thera except a few choice
individuals namely Lord Linolaques. I will continue my duties in the Spire
for the more successful I become the more influence the Church will gain and
hope that my Patron will reveal himself or herself to me so I can place a
name to the one that granted me the ability to heal so many.

If this great secret is revealed to me, perhaps this same deity is the same'
one that has granted our clerics empowerment! If this is so our Church will
finally be able to pray directly to this powerful being.

This Drow appears to understand the importance of being civil to those within the Spire, I will give him a chance.

My Move and The Drow.

Added Mon Oct 30 22:46:50 2006 at level 30:
As much as it ached me, my time for a new assignment came. Lord Linolaques
gave me the choice between Hamsah or Voralian. I of course asked for Hamsah
but he assigned me Voralian so it was not much of a choice I figure. This new
city is not all that bad, it lacks some of the structure inherent in Seantryn
Modan but the architecture here is amazing even after the tower was
destroyed.

Now on to Drow, by all that is holy this race really has begun to irk me. If
any race should have just stayed within the bowls of the earth it is them.
All of whom I have had the displeasure of meeting are bossy and ungrateful.

A position with the Spire.

Added Thu Oct 26 21:48:27 2006 at level 17:
After an interesting interview with Linolaques Mahansen in which he share his
past, I was selected for a position as a Magistrate. The members of the
Church are excited that we are not directly involved with the device that
protects and enforces order in Thera. My mission is to gain in power and
influence so that with the gods on our side the Church itself will also gain
in power.

I am sure the elders have other goals but this is all that has been revealed
to me.

A harsh voice.

Added Sun Oct 22 23:13:03 2006 at level 17:
I have been blessed by the powers, a harsh voice spoke to me in the
wilderness, asking my worth. As I formed my answers and was put under the
question. Suddenly as if summoned by the unforgiving voice my body was torn
asunder by a dark knight, this must have been a test to see if I would
falter. I climbed back up the jade mountains seeking the voice yet again and
suddenly I felt a surge of holy power surge through me. He then told me to
teach someone, I shall not fail and will find a way to make that harsh voice
a soothing one...

The Church's Agenda.

Added Tue Oct 17 19:50:34 2006 at level 11:
The Church of the Just is run out of the Neutral Temple in Seantryn Modan.
Acolytes journey to the Altar located within the temple to pray for guidance
and power. To this date only three priest have been empowered by the powers,
the main healer at the pit, the guild guardian and the guild master or
teacher. The faith has not been able to be spread due to the fact that these
are three full time positions and thus cannot be abandoned.
A fourth is needed to be able to journey and see how much the world has
changed, with this journey there is hopes that new allies and converts can be
gained. One of the main goals is to position one of the clergy within the
ranks of the blood tribunal. This would be a source of political power for
the church and a sure way to attract some positive attention. Within the
Spire, the elders of the clergy hope to acts as advisors and teachers much
like the Acolytes of the Sun to the Maran within the Fortress of Light. The
guidance is based on keeping order and control within the soul of those
enforcers that hunt down the criminals throughout Thera. The Church knows
that many a Tribunal members has let rage take hold and broken a law to reach
the end result of order in the realm. Church members know that this is an
empty victory for the cause and must be controlled and guided spiritually to
stay the course.

The tenets of the Faith are as follows:

1. Order is paramount for society to flourish, do nothing to impeded it being
upheld or its enforcement and if at all possible aid.

2. Justice is blind, take no sides between the wicked and righteous in their
battles against each other.

3. The protection of the Just is available to all who are within the walls of
civilized settlements, only those that have no regard for the law are
forsaken.

4. Tithe ten percent of your income to local government, keeping society
strong takes coin.

History

Added Sun Oct 15 15:30:23 2006 at level 1:
Kholav Ichtathen was born in the harbor city of Seantryn Modan, the model of
civilization in Thera. Born to a small noble house of no importance, Kholav
was the first and last of the Icthathen bloodline since his mother died when
he was born. At the age of five his father died suddenly, rumors persist that
Kholav birth was an ill omen and he should have been drowned when born. The
family coffers were empty so his fathers body was burned at the local
temple, with tears streaming down his face the local cleric felt pity for him
and offered him a place to stay, all that was required is that he maintained
the temple grounds.

As the years passed, Kholav did he job diligently and without complaint. He
became very meticulous in his chores and soon developed an obsessive
compulsive disorder, everything under his control needs to be clean and
organized. He often spent many a sleepless night going back to the temple
foyer to clean an area that had just be swept and mopped. In his free time he
was taught scripture and educated in the theology of the Church of the Just.
Here is where he received the basis of his beliefs and his place in society.
Due to the fact that he was born under the sign of Judgment he was blessed by
the healer of the temple to be able cure minor afflictions. The healer
explained to Kholav that if his faith and dedication were strong he would
climb through the ranks of the church, stating that the young cleric had
great potential. After his blessing, the clergy handed Kholav his first
assignment, he was to go learn about the rest of the world outside the great
walls of Seantryn Modan. Experience was the only to gain a better
understanding of the Church of the Just, also he was ordered to return to
Seantryn Modan often to share his experiences with his teachers.

(Kholav is only able to practice and train in Seantryn Modan due to the fact
that the Church of the Just is largely unknown in the rest of Thera.)
