Description

The creature of about 7 feet tall is before you. The most noticeable about him are his long pointy ears. The long goldein hair falls from his head to his shoulders. His eyes of the color of Aryth Ocean during daytime look at you peacefully, his lips formed into a bit sad smile. It seems this elf lacks any musculature at all. It's hard to say how old is he, but he leans on his long staff as if he is very tired, but it may be delusion. There are few books and scrolls attached to his belt. His armors shine as if it's being polished every day. He moves silently as if not touching the ground, his voice is soft and silent. Examining him further, you come to conclusion that

The early years of Koidel.

Koidel was born in Darsylon in the family of elite palace guards. Elves enjoy
all aspects of life and that's why their population grows up fast - every
year a lot of young elves are born. But every few years elves form a groups
and leave Darsylon to fight a followers of Darkness everywhere in Thera.
Often they leave to fight some specific lone enemy - like dragon or duergar.

But in the last more than 100 years Koidel never seen a single elf to return
to their city after they left Darsylon. The morale of elves has decreased
greatly and sometimes it's even possible to hear in that city that young
elves don't want to leave their home to fight a forces of Darkness anymore.

Overall elves don't like to fight and don't really train hard before they
leave Darsylon. The art of combat for them is like the art of deception -
most of the time is simply unacceptable. The warrior's and paladin's
guildmasters in Darsylon were always telling Koidel that a young elves simply
don't spend enough time in their guildhalls and don't train at all.

Koidel decided to join the guild of paladins and become a champion to learn
much more about the art of combat. At first he wants to become the strong 
paladin himself who can at least defend himself, then teach about this other
elves in Darsylon. Then he plans to lead the forces of the Light in the 
battle against forces of the Darkness and learns more about this aspect of
combat as well. But outmost important for him is to gather as much knowledge
about combat as he can and write it for future followers of the Light.

Koidel Deikol meets Ishuli for a first time.

Few years have passed after Koidel left Darsylon. But unlike most of his
brothers and sisters he didn't charge into the hardest possible battle he
could find. At first he decided to travel all over Thera to learn our lands
better. Ivonna became his first friend outside of Darsylon. It was this human
who found the library of Ishuli and showed Koidel where it is.

Few hours later Koidel met Ishuli for a first time. He wasn't ready for such
meeting, but surprisingly for him it was very easy to speak with the Witch.
Their plans had much in common and Ishuli gave him a bit of her powers to
fight for the Light better and learn about combat more. She offered him to
write about the combat the way Koidel sees it, and the elf gladly accepted.

There are many ideas right now in the head of Koidel as unlike other elves he
spent a lot of time reading about it and looking how his elders fight. But
the art of combat isn't just what potions you gather to prepare for a battle,
isn't just what actions you make during the battle, isn't only how you choose
a battleground for your battles, isn't just how you decide when to fight and
when it's wise to retreat, it's much more complex. He's now gathering all his
thoughts to at least define what combat and make a good tittle for his work.

Koidel wants to become the Squire of the Fortress of the Light because he
believes this is the place where groups of the followers of the Light are
fighting big groups of followers of the Darkness, this is the best place for
him to learn more about combat and how to lead and increase morale of his
friends, brothers and sisters. And of course to help and protect the Light!
